Billy

My name is Billy! I am about 10 years old and 70 lbs of cuddle bug! Even though I’m a senior boy, I still have some spunk! I’m friendly, affectionate, social, active and playful. Here is what my foster said about me: Billy is a very sweet, older guy who still has a playful side! He loves playing tug of war or chewing on bones to pass the time. He'd probably still love fetch, but his back legs aren't the strongest and sometimes needs someone who can remind him to slow down. When he does get sleepy, he'll want to be snuggling right next to you as he snoozes! He loves spending time with his person and wants to get in as much cuddling as possible. He has a couple manners he could work on (pulling on the leash, using dirty socks are fun toys), but he's very treat motivated and a quick learner. He's got sit down pat and already working on down! At the end of the day, he loves his person and just wants to make them happy (even if it means giving up his toy sock). If you might be willing to give me a home, my adoption fee is half sponsored! Rescue Coop saves dogs from eminent euthanasia and at risk situations and transports them directly to approved adopters nationwide. In under two years, we have placed 230 dogs in 15 states. Our adoption fee is $175 with no additional transport charges. Unfortunately we are unable to do meet and greets but our adoption coordinators strive to make excellent matches.

Mowgli

Meet Mowgli! This boy has a very "wild" story. Keep reading to find out more!! 11 month old Mowgli earned his name after the jungle boy because he was born in the woods behind a local business, making him a true wild child! He was a completely feral puppy who had never been touched by a human until our team of volunteers caught him after a grueling 7.5 month long rescue mission. His mother and brother were caught early on, leaving Mowgli all alone. It's quite amazing actually that he beat all odds and survived! Sadly one of his brothers was not so lucky. 🙁 Day after day we watched Mowgli on our cameras. He evaded every trap we would try. He lived among raccoons once his mother and brother were caught. For a little while he also had the company of a big stray pitbull. There were feral cats coming for the food as well as foxes, opossums, turtles and even the occasional armadillo. Mowgli's upbringing as a feral puppy makes him a unique and special companion. He is still timid due to his wild past, but with patience and understanding, he's slowly blossoming into a more confident dog. The night of his capture, Mowgli was very scared and confused, but he has been such a gentle boy since day one. In his current foster home he lives with a toddler, two dogs and two cats and he's good with all of them. One of the dogs he's living with is his mom! What a heartwarming moment when they were reunited! Now Mowgli is looking for a forever home with someone who can continue to help him explore the world safely and confidently. He would love the company of another dog in the home to help him be more comfortable. He will be a flight risk, at least at first. We purchased a very secure harness for him that he can take into his new home. If you think you have the patience and love to bring out Mowgli’s full potential, fill out an application using the link below. This little wild heart is ready to find a loving home and share his journey with you! The adopter of his brother had a DNA test done which revealed they are a mix of dachshund, chihuahua and Maltese. Mowgli is nearly full grown at around 15lbs. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and microchipped. ****** To apply for adoption, please go to www.animalaidms.org/adopt and complete our online application. If your application is approved and you're a great fit for Mowgli, we will reply with a phone call. We may also reach out about other dogs in our rescue that are similar and/or another wonderful option for you. Note: Please submit an application through our website at link above. We need that actual application and not simply a Petfinder inquiry. Be sure to complete the entire application as incomplete applications will not reach us. The dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi. We conduct virtual meet and greets for out-of-town applicants and can provide for transport (fee added to cost of adoption) to many northeastern states. At this time we are not able to transport into Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine or Rhode Island. Pizzaz

Pizzaz is absolutely beautiful with his light brindle coloring, he will have much nicer pictures coming soon to really show him off! He is estimated to be about 5 months old and weighs 25 pounds. Pizzaz is a very attentive puppy who loves to just lean into you for love. He seems to have a calmer nature, takes his treats ever so gently and loves to crawl in your lap for snuggles. We have noticed he likes to lay in the sun coming through the window, very cute. Pizzas is a little submissive, so he needs a family who can help build his confidence and provide leadership. He does have some observed food bowl guarding, but he is catching on quickly to “wait at bowl”. His adopter will need to continue to work on this with him. Pizzaz would fit perfectly in a home that has lots of love to give and where any children are at least 13 years old. If you think you could give Pizzaz the home he deserves, he would love to meet you and have a forever family. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Pizzaz would love to meet them. He has a tall, confident approach with other dog with nice play bows. He can be a bit pushy, so he may do best with a more submissive type of dog. If you are interested in Pizzaz and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Scampi

Meet Scampi, a handsome, medium-haired, Brown Tabby with a marble coat, who's sweet, affectionate and highly-social. He and his sister, Violet, were rescued from the grounds of an elementary school in the San Fernando Valley. They were all shy, at first, on account of never having any human contact, but they've quickly tamed up - as you'll see in their adoption video. Their foster mom says that he'll cry when his sister isn't around. Because he and Violet are so bonded, we'd like to adopt them out as a bonded pair. You'll find their full rescue journey chronicled in Photo Album #32 on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including video updates on all our cats and kittens). Scampi's adoption will include his: * Neuter surgery, * De-worming, * FVRCP vaccinations, * Rabies vaccination (if old enough), * Combo-test (for FIV/FeLV = negative), * Flea and mite treatment (with Revolution), * and Micro chipping! ~ $150. adoption fee, adoption contract and home check apply / $250 for a pair ~ * Please only contact us if you'll be making them permanent members of your household and will be keeping them safe indoors. ** We do not adopt out kittens or cats where they will be the only pet at home. Kittens rely on each other for emotional support and continued social and behavioral development. For example: another kitten or cat will teach them when they're playing too rough or biting too hard. Plus, cats and kittens get very lonely when you're not at home! Having a playmate will keep them happier, healthier and out of trouble. **We offer a discount when adopting a pair! *** You can also find all our adoptables on our Facebook page: "Save The Leadwell Kitties" (including their rescue story, photos and video updates). Interested in becoming a much-needed foster? Please send us a message with your best contact info, the type of home environment you can provide and, most-importantly, the City in which you live. Thanks!

Twinkie

Spayed Female 8 y/o Red and White Persian It’s been a tough year for sweet little Twinkie, through no fault of her own, and we’re here to make things better – looking to restore the happiness she can find in a brilliant new forever home. Twinkie spent her whole life with a lovely lady who, sadly, passed away a year ago. Since then, a family member has done her very best to care for her, but unfortunately the home includes several other pets and children which are just too much for her. Her guardian wants the best for her, and has asked us to find her a more appropriate (quiet) home. Twinkie is in our Owner Surrender Program, meaning she will wait at home in Vacaville until the right person comes along to adopt her. Could that be you?

Sicily

I am Sicily, I am 4 years old and I am such a happy pupper! I always have a waggy tail, always want all the pets and scratches, and I love everyone I meet. Let’s get the elephant out of the room, I might need to lose some weight. Let’s get real, I love food, but I know with the right diet and some exercise I will be in shape. Just need a partner to work out with and I am hoping that is you! I am super sweet and have never shown any destructive tendencies towards anything but my toys. I tend to be a super chewer, I even destroyed a red kong and am making good progress on a bear bone. I love to play with balls, but haven't quite gotten the idea of bringing it back to be thrown again, but I am a husky after all, not a golden retriever! I love to go on walks and run. I pull a little bit but I am working on that. I am great with other dogs and love to play with them. I tend to be reactive to squirrels, ducks, birds, and cats on my walks. I do listen when they tell me to leave it. I love my humans and am super sweet with them, I give them my best smile, and we become BFFs. I am housebroken, crate trained, spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Will you give me a forever home?

You would never know as she has completely recovered and loves to run and play! Reyna will most likely be a big girl at maybe 50-60 pounds. She absolutely loves playing with the other dogs! Morticia and Gomez

This adorable pair are Morticia Female (angora/lionhead) and Gomez Male (mini rex). They are fully bonded and are seeking a forever home together. They are young adults at 2 and 3 years old and have had a bit of a rough go of it. Two lovely families have adopted them and had to return them to the shelter due to previously unknown hay allergies. Everyone was heartbroken. Although Morticia looks like she is a star in a wind tunnel she is very agreeable to daily grooming and requires it. Gomez has a thick but low maintenance coat. If you have space in your home and heart for a pair of bunnies that give you both a little shy and outgoing playful as a full package, send in an application today!
