Meet Meadow!
We set out to trap one kitty to fill an appointment for spay/neuter.
After we got our solo kitty, another kitty came running up to where the trap had just been, and started manically pawing at the ground and sniffing everywhere in search of her friend. It was so painful to see her missing her friend so much, that we set another trap and decided to take this one home too.
This kitty became Meadow.
She was fixed and received all of her vetting the following day.
It turns out that she has CH (cerebellar hypoplasia), but that does not alter her quality of life or life expectancy. She just acts a bit tickier and has less slightly less brain development than other cats. She walks a little differently but has no issues walking or using the litter box.
She is a bit frightened from losing her surrounding home (outside) but we are so happy to get her off the dangerous street she was born on.
The vet believes she is about 7 months old. She is only 5.5 lbs, she is very tiny but has lots of fluffy beautiful fur that she takes immaculate care of.
Priority to someone who either A) has other cats or B) has another CH cat!
Meadow has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated, and tested negative for FIV/FeLv.
Currently in foster care in Hollywood, CA.

Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats in ALL of our other spare time. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue.
One of our 2 main focuses is to remove friendly cats from the streets, get them healthy and vetted in foster care, and find their purrrfect forever homes!
Our other main focus is TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccination of unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis. We currently TNR roughly 24 cats/month.
When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, manage them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family.
If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets.
If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments.
Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!
