Meet Higgs! He is a big, floppy boy who loves to cuddle. When you think of a wrinkly, gentle mastiff, you are thinking of Higgs! His foster describes him as the biggest love bug. Higgs loves to run around and play in the backyard, being tackled by his sisters, and lounging around on any and all outdoor furniture. He also enjoys sticks, chew toys, and being around other dogs. After a long day, he enjoys snuggling up next to you and will flop down for a belly scratch. He is crate trained and sleeps through the night. Higgs is dog and kid friendly, and will do well with cats. He is working on potty training, as well as basic commands. Applicants MUST have an adult dog in the home! When applying, you are applying to meet ALL puppies in the litter, not just one specific puppy. Being given away outside of a Sacramento Region store, our friends who rescue kittens were resourceful enough to snag this little gal, who is six weeks old and weighs 4.4 lbs. They contacted us to see if we could help since their focus is felines of all ages. As luck would have it, we did have a foster home ready for this little gal. Our largest fundraiser, the regional Big Day of Giving, is around the corner on May 2nd, and early giving has begun. Can we count on you to support us with a donation that will allow us to raise this little one and the rest of our rescue crew and say yes to more shepherds at risk? After vetting, during which she was dewormed, received her requisite vaccines, and tested for parvo (negative so far), BG headed to her foster home on April 23rd. There, she'll grow up for the next few weeks with two cats and two female dogs who love to nurture little ones like BG. We're excited to learn all about this sweet pup and share with you what we learn about her personality, temperament, and needs to match her to a fantastic furever family. The Belle litter is all male 11 week old Shepard and Hound Mix puppies. These furry little babies were saved by a fellow rescuer out of a high kill shelter. Unfortunately, they were found without a mama and became healthy little tykes with the help of humans bottle feeding them. These adorable babes are playful, happy, and good with kids, dogs and cats. We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Pappadum was pulled from a feral colony that was under threat. He was presumed to be feral and a barn placement was sought, but Pappadum had other plans! It was clear that he had been in a home before, although it had probably been a long time ago. He was immediately skilled in litter box usage and quickly warmed up to receiving pets. He loves to run and play, and is quickly learning the ropes from his foster brothers and sisters. He's still learning how to get along with them but does enjoy the company of his feline friends. He would do very well with a warm and friendly cat as a companion family member, but could also be your only cat. He is so grateful to be rescued and rewards you with head rubs and air biscuits. Hi, I’m Winnie! I’m a 1-year old black lab mix and I weigh about 40 pounds. I’m more a petite lab or what LOLIN likes to refer to as a “pocket lab”. I am very much a people dog and love to be with my people at all times. So, you’ll have to get used to having a permanent bodyguard/best friend who likes to accompany you everywhere in the house. I just don’t want you to get lonely even if it’s in the bathroom. Chewing on Benebones and destroying stuffed toys (ie, destuffing them) are some of my favorite things to do. I am working on leash training now and think going for a daily walk would be pretty pawsome! I’m more on the chill side for a puppy of my age if that is something you are looking for. I think it would be best if I went to a home with older kiddos just because I can be a bit mouthy-but I do correct very easily. I have some furry foster siblings in my foster home but just to be safe, let’s do a meet and greet with any dogs you have just to be sure we are a good fit. Right now, I sleep with my foster parents in their big and comfy bed. It would be great if I can do this same thing in my new home. If not, I bet a nice comfy pet bed would do the trick too. I’m already potty-trained and crate-trained. But between us, I don’t really like the crate and my foster mom has left me out a few times while she’s been gone and I did well.
