Thank you! ____________________ Del Gato Rescue is a small 501(c)(3) nonprofit cat rescue based in Los Angeles, CA. We are a handful of volunteers who work normal jobs by day and rescue cats on nights & weekends. We receive countless daily requests from the community for assistance with cats and kittens found outside in need of rescue. We focus on rescuing friendly cats from the streets, getting them healthy and vetted in foster care, and finding their purrrfect forever home! We prevent hundreds of cats per year from entering our city shelters and being euthanized. We also TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) and vaccinate unadoptable/feral street cats, which we believe is the only solution to the root cause of the feline population crisis. When space allows, we also pull death-row cats from local high kill shelters, work with them in foster care, get them up to date on their healthcare, and match them with their new forever family. If you'd like to volunteer with us, fostering is a great way to help our cause, and it allows us space to save more kitties off the streets. If you are unable to foster, we are also always looking for help with transportation to and from vet appointments. Please send us an email at delgatorescue@gmail.com to be a part of our rescue community. Thanks for your support!

Buffy (AL)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Buffy (AL) is a female Pit Bull Terrier mix estimated to be a year old at the time of intake in March 2024. Buffy is up to date on core vaccines and is microchipped. She will be spayed prior to joining her forever home unless there is a medical reason why it has not yet been completed (in which case RDR NYC will work with the adopter to ensure this is done at the appropriate time). Buffy is good with people and other dogs. This gentle sweetheart was attacked by other dogs and then sat suffering with her severe injuries untreated. She was finally brought to a shelter where her front leg was amputated. She is emaciated and has suffered horrific wounds to her body. Our veterinary partners are trying desperately to save her hind leg. This beautiful girl deserves to have a loving forever family in whose arms Buffy can jump as soon as she is healthy enough to start her life over. If you are Buffy's special person or family who will love and cherish Buffy forever, please apply online to adopt Buffy (AL) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org. Given technical constraints on this database, this pet's location may not be as listed here. We can, however, provide transport support for pets in foster at a considerable distance from the adopter.

Betty

Betty (aka Boop) is a 13.7lb, 5 year old female Lhasa Apso that was surrendered to Zoe's House by a commercial breeder. She is adorable, spunky & LOVES to love. Betty loves her new freedom outside of a life of having a sole purpose of having puppies. Because of this, she'd thrive in home with a fenced in yard as she enjoys RUNNING laps in her foster family's yard - a plus would be a solid fence due to her curiosity and size, as she can (and does) jump through fences with vertical rungs. She would do fine in a home with or without other dogs but she'd prefer her siblings also be a small breed like her. She'd do best in a home with no kids under 10. Betty suffers from separation anxiety and needs to know where her Foster Mom (FM) is and what she's doing. She's a true velcro dog. She goes in her crate when her FM isn't home, but she's not pleased about it and will bark for some time. Because of this, she'd do best in a detached home. She sleeps really well in her crate at night after a few moments of whimpers when everyone else heads to bed. Betty is learning to be accepting of a leash and is doing pretty well with her potty training, but her family will need patience as dogs often regress when entering a new home. Her fur will require regular grooming. Medically, Betty is up-to-date on vaccines and is currently recovering from surgery that occured on 3/26. She had an extensive dental procedure with removal of 20+ teeth, but she still has over half and should be able to eat normal dog food once recovered! Thank goodness, as she loves to chew her bully sticks. She was also spayed 3/26 spayed & is microchipped. Betty will be ready for adoption once she is cleared & fully recovered from her procedures. Betty has the sweetest little heart, is so loved, and will make such a joyful addition to her new family & home. If our little Boop sounds like she'd be a good addition to your family, please visit zoeshouserescue.com to apply today! Kennel License #9117 P.O. Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Misty

Meet Misty! If you're looking for a playful, loving, and never met a stranger dog, Misty is perfect for you. Misty is a three year old Boston Terrier surrendered by her owners into rescue. She's learning what it's like to go from life as a farm dog to that of a toy loving, couch sleeping, (free snoring included), family member. Misty loves durable chew toys that she can use alone or to play tug of war with her favorite dog or person. She'll happily spend time alone rolling on her back to hold a toy and play. Misty also loves to play with her foster brothers as her energy level allows her to tire one out and move onto the next. She would be fine as an only dog or with four legged siblings. Any dog siblings in her forever home should be larger than 15 pounds due to her solid 25 pound frame. Cats are OK but she is very interested and should have supervision with them. She's become accustomed to the very dog savvy cats in her foster home and has chosen her favorite to kiss and love on while a watchful eye is kept on them. Hiking would be a great pastime for Misty. She's great walking on leash but really likes having a fenced yard. More than anything she wants to be a lap dog and spend as much time with her family as possible. Be warned, she can't control her licker and will give unlimited kisses. Misty is nearly perfect in her house training. She will go to the door and whine when she needs to potty and has picked this up very quickly, however regression is normal in new surroundings. She's also learned simple commands like off and leave it. She is crated when her foster parents aren't home, overnight, and for meals. She's very quiet in her crate. Misty has been around children and loves them all, but due to her size, children in the home should be 8 or older. Misty is uptodate on vaccines, microchipped, and spayed. If Misty sounds like your kind of dog, fill out an application to add this girl with the beautiful, soulful eyes to your life. I promise you won't regret it. Opaline

"Hey there! I'm Opaline! My foster mama calls me Opal (or Opie), and you can too! I am a sweet, easy going gal. I love to eat and I like fluffy beds. I was surrendered to Zoe's House in late February by a commercial breeder. Prior to coming to Zoe's, I had no experience living in a home. I have quickly learned that I like to wander the yard, and I definitely love curling up by the fire place! At 5 years old, I'm a stout 50lbs of love! I would be much healthier at about 40-45lbs. I came to Zoe's as a bit of a mess medically. I had given birth via c-section a few months prior to being surrendered, and it was still kind of sore because the stitches had not been removed when they should have been. I had narrow nasal passages and really bad teeth. Zoe's House took great care of me. My c-section sutures were cleaned and removed, I got spayed, I had dental work, and I got a nasal nares correction. I can breathe so much easier now! I am a bit of a scaredy cat with new things, but I ADORE all people and usually good with other dogs! Sometimes I am grumpy with male dogs. When I am scared I will pancake to the floor and refuse to move. I am a typical stubborn bulldog, and my foster mom has gotten used to waiting for me to get brave and move when I am ready. I like to follow other dogs around, if it's safe for them it must be safe for me too! I would do best in a home with another dog who is confident and relaxed. I am very loving, and sometimes my love is a bit heavy pawed so I may not be the best fit for small kids I can knock over. However, if they are used to dogs bumping into them, we might be best friends!" Opaline is about halfway housebroken, and her new family should expect to continue helping her learn through positive reinforcement and routine. She is a very sensitive girl who loves to be praised when she has done a good job! She does not require a fenced yard but will need to be kept on a leash, as she loves to wander. Opal is being fostered in southern Lancaster county pa. Interested families must be willing to travel to her foster home twice to adopt her. The first visit is a meet and greet with all members of the household, including resident dogs. After the meet and greet a date for adoption will be agreed upon. Opaline is spayed, had dental work, is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and has been treated with monthly parasite preventatives. She is silly, spunky, and always in a happy and fun-loving mood. She loves to go on adventures with her people and would thrive in a home that takes her on daily walks. She is very playful and would be a great additional dog in a home, or be fine as an only dog with continued socialization. She is treat motivated which will be great for training purposes, and does the cutest little dance for the right treat. KRONOS

Kronos went to foster and this is what his foster mom had to say about him: he is a good one! Still very much so a puppy, needs constant re-direction but does appear to know some basic commands. He is a little weary of new things and needs either another dog or person with him to go investigate something new, but is very confident in a comfortable environment. He does jump up on people, but does respond well to redirection. He is so clumsy, runs into most anything in his way, flips up and down the stairs, and drags himself out of bed in the morning. He is such a hunk!
