We brought her into our program and we are happy to report that she is in perfect health and ready to go home! Now in a foster home, Fiesta is showing off her playful side! She loves wiggling around on her back with a favorite stuffie, chewing on bones, and curling up on her foster mom's lap for a cuddle. She is an active young pup (only a year!) who would love an active home. Apply to learn more at https://mrbonesandco.org/adoption/

Poppy was born mid-September 2022 and is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and tested felv/FIV negative. Poppy’s foster home is in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. Podkin

If there ever was a cat that should have been a cowboy, Podkin is it. He has that confident swagger going on, he's very laid back, and is oh so handsome. Due to an ear infection that was left untreated before he arrived at The Lost Companion, Podkin's left ear is damaged and lays flat against his head. We just think this adds to his coolness! Come meet Podkin. He would love to ride off into the sunset with you!

Kendro

Please carefully read Kendro's bio before applying Our adoption process and application can be found on our website; www.straytoplay.org/adopt Ideal home: Kendro's perfect adoptive home would have a backyard, though he is currently in a condo and could do well with adequate exercise and mental stimulation. He may do well with another dog in the home if the dog and Kendro are a good personality match. Kendro loves to play and would do well having a large space or a dog pal to get his energy out with. An active family that loves to go on long walks would be a perfect match for Kendro, preferably outside of the city. He can be stubborn and will need a firm handler that will remain consistent with Kendro until he learns the rules of his new home. Name: Kendro Age: Approximately 3 years old Breed: Shepherd mix Weight: 46lbs Gender: Male Energy level: Medium-high Good with dogs: Kendro is always friendly with other dogs and seems happy to meet them. Majority of the time, his interaction is on the calm side when greeting other dogs but once in a while, he can get very excited and move towards physical play. He will also stay non-reactive if the other dog is barking back in a defensive posture. He can also stay calm even if the other dog is excited. Overall, he is excellent with other dogs. Good with cats: No, high prey drive Good with kids (+ ages): 12+ Good with strangers: Kendro really loves to greet people in the condo building and on the street on walks. He is working on not jumping up to greet people. He loves getting attention and pets on walks, and will sweetly kiss people's hands. Guarding issues: None seen Behavioural issues: Kendro counter/kitchen table surfs, but will disengage when called out. Kendro sometimes does not like the TV; he ocassionally barks and growls when the TV is on, even when the volume is off. Although this has improved greatly over time. House trained: Yes Crate trained: Kendro sleeps during the night in his crate with the door open. He will also go into his crate on his own throughout the day to take naps or rest. He sees it as a safe space. However, he does not like a closed crate at all. He is currently being trained to increase his comfort level with closed crate. Separation anxiety: Kendro has mild seperation anxiety, but it's getting better. He has been left alone for up to 4 hours with free range of the home with no issues. He does cry at the door, but does settle. Destructive: Kendro has moments initially when first getting settled in and dealing with the stress of the transition. He definitely has a thing for blankets and towels. However, over time, things do settle down, even with the blanket chewing. He has now started to self-regulate and chew his own comfort blanket when the urge arises. Leash skills: Kendro has two modes when on a leash. Regular walking without pulling where it is loose and can walk beside you with little or no pulling and scent/hunt mode, where is he has his nose to the ground and pulls. Even when he pulls, he will stop immediately when you stop and give resistance on the leash with a slight tug. Okay with manipulations: Yes Medical issues: None Other notes such as overall observations, personality, etc: Kendro is the sweetest, most affectionate dog. He is very quiet and hardly barks in the apartment or outside on walks. He loves to spend him with his people, and will closely follow them around the house during the day. If you sit on the floor with him, he loves getting hugs and will come in for kisses and put his head on your lap. He has a goofy side to his personality occasionally kissing himself in the mirror and chasing his tail. He is an adventurous and athletic dog that loves to explore the neighborhood by going on long walks. He is curious about his surroundings and is not afraid of the downtown Toronto sounds. Generally, he is a smart dog and enjoys games or other forms of mental stimulation. Using treats, Kendro knows how to sit, and he will give you his paw on command. If you tell him to wait when seated, walk away and place a treat on the ground, he will continue to wait until called upon. Overall Kendro is highly trainable. Kendro is completely okay with physical touch, and he is never not in the mood for pets, kisses, and love. The first vet that Kendro visited did say that he did not enjoy having his blood drawn and temperature taken so that is something to make sure to give his next vet a heads up on.

Mr. T

Please carefully read Mr.T's bio before applying Our adoption process and application can be found on our website; www.straytoplay.org/adopt Ideal home: Mr. T loves being outside more than anything, even if it's just standing in one spot, he prefers it to being inside. Someone with a fenced yard with no way for him to escape would be his dream. He could be okay with children, but he'd need time to get used to them. He can be a bit standoff-ish, but he just wants love so he's willing to put in the work if a family is. Other than that, he would require someone with patience to continue with basic obedience training and the ability to take him on long walks. Mr. T would be a great hiking buddy and the perfect addition to an active, outdoorsy family. ?Name: Mr. T Age: Approximately 2 years old Breed: Husky mix Weight: 74lbs Gender: Male Energy level: Medium-high Good with dogs: Mr. T loves having a dog companion. Having another dog helped him calm down when he was first getting used to being indoors. He loves to play with his foster sister after his morning walk. When he sees other dogs on his walk, he gets over excited and will jump and bark to try and see them. Good with cats: He will lunge at a cat and will potentially try to hunt them. Good with kids (+ ages): 6+ Good with strangers: Loves people, often tricks them into belly rubs by bringing a toy and waiting until the person grabs the toy, which is when he collapses and exposes his belly, pointing at it with his nose for a belly rub. He likes everyone he has met. Guarding issues: He can be a bit protective of his food from the other dog in the home, but it goes both ways so may not be an issue with all dogs. Behavioural issues: No House trained: Yes Crate trained: He'll cry for a little bit, maybe 10ish minutes but is totally fine afterwards. Even if you get home and walk around for 10mins before taking him out he is super good. Separation anxiety: He doesn't like to be left alone, but given enough exercise he will eventually settle in his crate. He has been left alone up to 8 hours. Destructive: No Leash skills: Aside from reacting to other dogs, he will walk in any direction, and at any pace his walker does. Okay with manipulations: Yes, but not a fan of being brushed. Medical issues: None Other notes such as overall observations, personality, etc: Mr. T is an amazing dog, he is great with other dogs and has been adjusting well to being an indoor dog. He definitely loves the outdoors and will help you get your steps in. He can be anxious, and is deeply searching for a forever person whose companion he can be. Mr. T loves being around people, and has extreme bursts of energy as well being a great escape artist. He has the ability to jump a 4 and a half foot fence, and will climb a gate if need be, so he should be supervised (and leashed) when outdoors.

Ebony

Ebony was brought to the shelter in May 2022 as a stray and we're not sure how long she was on her own for. Her age has been estimated to be about 3-4 years old. She is calm and gets along well with other cats. She waits patiently for pets. She may have been overlooked by potential adopters because of her more mellow and reserved nature but make no mistake, she welcomes attention. Black cats also tend to be among the last picked. But again, she is a loving, gentle kitty so don't forget about her! She has been spayed, tested, microchipped and is up to date on vaccines. Email us at info@cnysnap.org if you'd like to meet Ebony and give her a home before her one year anniversary at the shelter.

Bear and Bob - sisters for adoption together ONLY

Bear, a rambunctious and loving tabby, is sure to become the life of any household. From the moment she came to her foster home just a few days old she was queen of the roost. Bear loves to play, run, and explore. She has no fear, and loves to stand on her hind legs to play, attack or intimidate - and sometimes she does it just to get a better view! Bear is also extremely loving and affectionate. She loves bedtime cuddles and being near, to both humans and other cats. She is extremely social and also the most intense when it comes to feeding time (she does the cutest little circular dance before she gets her meals!). Bear is great with other cats (older and younger) as well as children (older). Bear has never experienced life with a dog. Bob, Bear’s sister, is almost as lovely and rambunctious as her sibling, but with a more reserved personality. Bob is a gentle soul who largely keeps to herself. She loves cuddling and hanging out with other cats, especially her sister, Bear. However, she’s still warming up to the idea of hanging out with humans just as much. But she’s not at all afraid and loves to play and chase and hang out close. Her favourite thing to do is hang out in the bathroom sink while you get ready in the morning! Bob is great with older kids and other cats (younger and older). She has not experienced dogs before. Bear and Bob are for adoption together only as they love each other so much - we couldn’t imagine splitting them up! Whoever adopts them will be lucky enough to share in that love too!

Hope

Hi! I'm Hope and pretty "hope"-ful you'll find space in your home, heart, and lap for a girl like me! There is nothing I love more than love but I do also like fetching balls, gnawing on ropes and textured toys, and treats. I can even catch them mid-air! I know several commands including "sit", "kennel", and "down". Because I'm not a puppy, you don't have to worry about destructive activity or pottying in the house. I like to go on walks a LOT and do so beautifully. I get along well with other doggos and don't mind kitties either. My favorite kind of living creature has to be the kids, though. They're just so great to snuggle and play with! If you have a couch cushion and some love to spare, please consider giving me my FURever home. You won't regret it!

Handsome Dan

Originally transferred to Pintler Pets as a stray on 09/15/2022 from animal control who picked him up 09/12/2022. This handsome guy was not reclaimed; the first two pictures are from last November. He was adopted last November 2022 but did not get along with the resident dogs. The other three pictures are from April 10th of this year when he was returned to Pintler and the change is quite sad, even unbelievable. He has obviously been in confrontations with other dogs. We don't know the details yet. We hope that Handsome Dan will some day, again, be as handsome as he was in the past. When ready for adoption, Handsome Dan will need to be an only dog, and will need a yard with a 6’ fence. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, de-wormed, and vaccinated appropriately for their age (including kennel cough). Micro-chipping is not included in the adoption fee but can be added for an additional cost $25. Puppies (under 6 months) are $250.00; puppies (6 months to 2 years) are $200.00, dogs (over 2 years) are $175 and senior dogs (7 years or older) are $75.00. Find our adoption application at: www.pintlerpetsmt.org/adoption-application. The application is also available on the front page of our Petfinder account, on the middle, right-hand side under our logo.
