Beautiful Nina came to us from our New Hope partners at the MACC. Luckily, foster home @goodhome4fabulousfelines was available to take her in, and she has truly flourished under their care!
Nina is a sweet, loving and attentive cat. She is so amenable that her foster home created a new word to describe her: am-Nina-ble!
Nina is a lovely mix of independent, in that she does her own thing and doesn't need you around all the time, but also deeply loving and sweet. She will be your baby! She will cuddle up to you at night and sometimes will tuck herself in under the covers next to you. She loves to "knead" your nooks and crannies, flop all over you, grab your hand with her paws to demand scritches. When she is first settling in, she will need a lot of reassurance and attention, and might follow you around the house, but this will settle down, especially if you let her sleep on the bed with you at night (she will cry outside the door if you don't!). She will hide for the first five minutes of a guest being in the apartment, and then come out and be all over them!
Nina is completely obsessed with the rainbow ball and pom-poms, which she will leave in her dry food bowl when it's empty, perhaps as a way of asking for a refill. Her favourite morning activity is watching the pigeons on the fire escape and "hunting" them from inside the apartment (pawing at the windows). She is OBSESSED with the bathroom, loves to run around the bathtub, or sit on the closed toilet or bath mat while you are using the bathroom.
She is very vocal too! She "chats" with you by quacking or meowing. When she plays with her balls and pom-poms she loves to sing too!
Like many cats, Nina can give love nibbles when she wants attention or is overstimulated. Once you learn her triggers and avoid them, it's no problem, but she might do best in a home without children for this reason.
