Many cats do so much better in pairs, especially kittens, which is why we offer a reduced adoption fee of $25 for the second cat (or more!). We welcome applications from outside the Lynchburg area; just keep in mind that non-local adopters must wait till the cat is altered before taking it home.Interested in this animal? The adoption fee helps cover a portion of the care provided for our animals, including spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm testing for dogs, FeLV/FIV combo testing for cats, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines (including rabies vaccine), and any medical care received while in our care. All cats and dogs are on flea/tick and parasite prevention for the duration of foster care.
Notes about puppies: Adopters can expect a new puppy to have accidents, chew things they shouldn't, and have other normal, energetic puppy issues until they are trained, including jumping, mouthing, and general youthful naughtiness. If you experience puppy issues, please feel free to contact us; we're happy to offer guidance. Also, if a puppy is a mixed breed, we cannot guarantee an adult weight. If your residence has weight restrictions or if you're looking for a specific adult weight, we don't recommend applying for a mixed-breed puppy.
We also offer rehoming services for pets currently owned by individuals. In these cases, we list the animal as a courtesy to the owner, and the animal is not currently in the care of CVRR, such that we can make no representation or guarantee of the animal's behavior, demeanor, or health assessment. All information listed for a courtesy-posted animal is provided by the current owner and should be verified by any potential adopter.
CVRR is a nonprofit organization. We have no paid staff, and all applications are reviewed and processed by our volunteers. Please be patient and understand that it may take 7-14 days to process your application, check your references, and gather follow-up info. You can expedite the process by providing accurate phone numbers and email addresses for your vet and landlord references, and by answering each question fully. Once your application is approved, we will schedule a meet-and-greet to see if the animal picks you, too. If it seems the adoption will be a good match for all, we will collect the adoption fee and complete the adoption contract.
CVRR is a NO KILL rescue organization, and we have a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to all of our animals. If for any reason the adoption does not work out, the animal must be returned to CVRR. We will reevaluate the animal and choose a new home based on the best fit for it.

Tina is a 3-4 months old and is a possibly a Jack Russell Terrier mix. He is social and plays well with other dogs. He weighs about 10 pounds. Tina is in NH and available for adoption.

All Motley Mutts Rescue's puppies are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. All adult dogs are also tested for heartworm prior to transport that are older than 6 months. All puppies and adult dogs will have seen a NH vet for a health certificate within 14 days of adoption. Unless otherwise noted adoption fees range from $500 on adults and $600 on puppies and adults. Adoption fees reflect the costs we incur on vetting and transporting the dogs. All Motley Mutts are in NH for you to meet to see if there's a connection prior to adoption.

This adorable little lady is Peaches!
Peaches is an approximately 3-month old female Hound/Doberman mix who will weigh around 60-70 lbs. as an adult (best guess). She was rescued after being abandoned at a soccer field.
Peaches is a very playful and affectionate girl. She definitely needs another playful dog in the house to help her burn her energy off and for companionship!
She loves toys and chew bones!
Peaches needs a securely fenced back yard to run and play in! NO APARTMENTS!
Peaches is crated but will need assistance and patience with house and leash training.

Charcoal's Mama and 6 siblings were abandoned and found living under a car in a trailer park. A Good Samaritan had been feeding them until she could find someone to collect them and take them in. He is a loving and playful little doggo! These pups will require a securely fenced yard OR regular access to a dog park.

Tucker was found as a stray and his owner no longer wanted him. He is a sweet laid back boy who loves to play ball and get lots of attention from his person. He is about 6yrs old, quiet in his crate and not reactive to other dogs that walk by. He would need a slow introduction to any other animals in his new home. He would love a fenced yard to run and play safely.

YUNA
YUNA was left and the shelter and subsequently surrendered to the shelter.
YUNA is a young adult, 3 - 4 years old, she weighs 31 lbs, she's had her D2APP vaccine and her former owner said she is a husky/shiba inu mix. YUNA is a very sweel, super nice, very friendly, fun-loving girl! YUNA enjoys sitting on the chairs by the doggie pool, she'll get the occasional case of the zoomies, she walks well on a leash and she's housebroken!
The other dog in YUNA's former family did not get along with her and she's been fine around the other dogs at the shelter since she's been there. Older kids who are dog-savvy and know how to behave and interact with dogs are recommended. Nothing is known about how YUNA is with cats. Please bring your kids, dog(s), and even your cat(s), if possible, to the shelter for a meet and greet with the help of the warden or deputies just to be sure everyone gets along before taking YUNA home!
