She's a beautiful senior girl who still has a lot of spunk left in her, even though she's pictured in a beloved, resting position. She's a hound / shepherd mix, good with dogs, cats, and children. She's very sweet and laid back. She came to us from the North GA mountains after losing the only owner she's known to cancer. She was devastated and grieved deeply for her. Now she's looking for a retirement home, so she can remain in peach until she sees her again

Meet Tac! He’s a 5 month old, 35 lb Redbone coonhound. He loves other dogs, is still learning about people. He was found with his 2 sisters as strays. The girls were quickly adopted leaving him alone at the shelter (so afraid-see the last picture, Debbie & Rodney couldn’t resist his soulful eyes! ) He is great in a crate & walks well on a leash. MEET BINX!
From the Foster:
Binx is a 6 month old male, Heeler mix. He has typical herding tendencies, but is easily redirected with treats and calling his name. He absolutely ADORES other dogs and wants to spend his time outside playing chase. The dogs take turns chasing each other, and it's just about the cutest thing in the world.
Binx is not aggressive at ALL, but has a slightly large toy obsession. He would do best in a home where the other dog is not protective over toys. He has once or twice stolen from my other dogs toy hoard.
Binx does show interest in cats, but with a slow introduction, I think they would do quite well together.
He is eager to learn, treat motivated and always ready for the next thing. We’ve been practicing his patience by asking him to sit and wait as I open the kennel door, until I release him to come out. He will sit, lay down, and stay when asked. He's an extremely GOOD DOG.
Binx's perfect person will understand he'll need consistent training to help him stay active and confident in life.
He would do well with another dog, and would love for you to have a friend waiting for him at home.
Binx requires a fenced yard.
His neuter is scheduled for the week of May 28th.
We are accepting applications now.
Binx is up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and microchipped.
He is currently being fostered in Rochester. If you are interested in meeting Binx, you will need to travel to the Foster's location in Rochester.
Binx's adoption fee is $300.
