Ariel

Meet Ariel Ariel is a gorgeous tiger kitten with beautiful golden eyes. Ariel came into us alone, and still remains shy and watchful until she gets to know you. Once she does, she loves ear scratches and playtime. We think she will fully thrive in a quiet home environment. If you are looking for a sweet kitty who really deserves a break, Ariel is the one for you. Ariel LOVES other kitties and would do best in a home with a kitty companion, or if she is able to bring one of her Smithgall playmates home with her at adoption. If you can open your heart and offer a safe home to Ariel please submit an application online https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/page/cat-adoption-application Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Diamond

This senior girl was recently returned to us after over 4 years in a home, through no fault of her own. Diamond is looking for her new family, one who would love an affectionate, lower energy dog that still likes to go on walks, or play, but is also good cuddling on the couch, or even doing her own thing. Diamond does well with other dogs, though does not like every dog she meets, so caution should be used when introducing to new dogs. Has in the past had barrier / territory aggression, so would do well in a home with a privacy fence, or no adjacent dogs. No cats. Has some training and knows sit, leave it, & load up (get into kennel, or car). Some training reinforcement, or additional training is recommended. Diamond has storm anxiety, but does well on medication to get through it.

Merida

Merida has not had the easiest journey in life, but we are committed to ensuring that things are better for her from here on out 🙂 Abandoned in an apartment when her previous "guardians" moved out, Merida found herself alone and afraid. She was found by a Good Samaritan who took her to our friends at Wildlife Rescue, Inc. Clearly not a wild bun, Merida needs were different than that of the rabbits for whom WLR normally cares. When they asked if Luna's House would take Merida into our adoption program, told us her story and how fearful she was, we welcomed her with open arms. We believe Merida--named after the heroine in the movie "BRAVE"--is approximately 2.5 to 3 years of age as of June 2023. We gave Merida her name to encourage her to embrace her inner strength and bravery...and she is certainly working on that! We love Merida's "helicopter" ears and her pronounced dewlap, both of which give her a look all her own. Though she remains a skittish lass, Merida is slowly becoming the confident bun we know she can be. She will need a patient, gentle home with folks who understand that her honks and lunging are fear-based, and not at all aggressive. She is truly a sweetheart who just needs time and the love of a rabbit-savvy family to flourish. Merida would not be a candidate for a home with children, as we believe she may have been mistreated by human kids in the past 🙁 If you would be interested in adopting a rabbit from Luna's House, please take a moment to fill out an online application: https://www.lunashouse.org/php_email_form/formphp.html Once we have received and approved your completed application, we can schedule a time for you to come meet with rabbits available for adoption to see with whom you have the best connection. Our adoption fee for a single rabbit is $75. This is a donation meant to help us cover part of the cost of caring for the animal you are adopting while (s)he is with us, including veterinary exam, spay or neuter surgery, deworming, RHDV2 vaccination, microchip, food, bedding, etc. Merida has been vaccinated against RHDV2.

Marisol

Introducing Marisol, a bun as social as she is silly 🙂 Marisol's unique look is the result of being a little bit Lionhead...and a lot of fun! She is a playful, energetic gal who is ready to take the world and her new family by storm. At an estimated 1.5-2 years months of age (as of June 2023), Marisol has a lot of life to live--and she is determined to live it to its fullest! We think Marisol would do well in a home with gentle, respectful older children, and would likely hold her own with dogs and/or cats, so long as everyone is introduced gradually. If you would be interested in adopting a rabbit from Luna's House, please take a moment to fill out an online application: https://www.lunashouse.org/php_email_form/formphp.html Once we have received and approved your completed application, we can schedule a time for you to come meet with rabbits available for adoption to see with whom you have the best connection. Sheeba

Poor Sheeba! Sheeba ended up in a shelter after her owner passed away. She waited there for 5 months as people adopted dogs that were younger and smaller and left her behind! Sheeba is a 12 year old, husky mix who weighs 55 pounds. Sheeba has lots of pep in her step! She loves to go for adventures and run through the fields! She is housetrained and lots to get her crate to go to sleep for the night. She is ok around other dogs but does prefer dogs who give her space and don't want to play. Sheeba is looking for a calm environment with patient people who understand that she lost the only family she ever knew. It will take time for her to become comfortable and establish a new routine. When Sheeba is nervous or scared of new things, she can be a bit defensive and needs someone who can understand that. Sheeba is hoping for a few foster home or adopter before winter as she is not in the ideal foster home to meet her needs. Can you be the miracle Sheeba needs to be happy in her golden years? A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply to dogs over 8 years of age. Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and are scheduling individual adoptions in the Waynesboro, VA area during the pandemic. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Reign

Ruby Red Reign! This beautiful and petite girl is about 1 years old and is a 40lbs pitbull mix. Reigns family absolutely adores her but their situation has changed and they are no longer able to care for her. MABBR just KNEW we had to step in to help this sweet pup find her forever home. Reign has lived in a home her entire life which consists of 3 female dogs and a cat. Reign came to our boarding facility so that our volunteers could meet her and she met one of our male dogs and she did amazing with him as well! She is high energy and would love a home that can keep her active. Maybe a doggy sibling to romp around with? Some human kiddos to play fetch with? Or even a lovely adult family that can spoil her! As you can see, Reign would do great in practically any home. She currently lives with kids and she has met kids of all different ages throughout her life. Reign is a young and happy dog looking for a family that can provide what she needs to be happy! This pretty pup loves people and doesn’t even know the concept of a “stranger”. Everyone is a friend in Reign’s eyes! Reign does get a tad nervous in the car so a little bit of encouragement in this area would go along way. Lots of dogs associate cars with scary things and Reign just isn’t used to the big, scary, moving metal things that we humans depend on. Reign is a young and impressionable soul so a little bit of practice and TLC, Reign could be your next road trip buddy! If road trips aren’t you’re thing…well even better! Whoever has the chance to adopt sweet little Reign will quite possibly the luckiest family ever!

Lady

Lady and her 6 siblings were surrendered to animal control mid-August when they were just a few days old after they sadly lost their mom. Mom and dad were both pittie mixes. They are all being fostered in Bay City, MI, and in addition to being spayed and neutered, they will be microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate shots. They will be available the second week of November once they heal from their spay/neuter surgeries, but you are welcome to apply for them now at www.mittenmuttsdogrescue.com/adopt. Their adoption fees have been waived. We will not be adopting any of these siblings out together, they are not bonded.:) Lady is a clingy girl who loves her humans and would likely enjoy having a dog buddy friend, but would also do okay as an only dog. It is now early May and at nearly 9 months she is about 35 pounds. She loves bones, yak cheese, and bully sticks, but watch out if you're a stuffy because you won't survive a play session with Lady!
