Sir Hiss-a-lot

My name is Sir Hiss-a-lot, and yes... I hiss a lot...at people. I love my cat friends here at the sanctuary, but not so fond of the 2-legged giants here. I showed up at the sanctuary on a cold, winter day. I sat shivering in the old barn and when I "talked" to the 2-legged giant I eventually got some food!! I knew there were other cats here, but I couldn't get into their building. I just hung around and in no time flat - bam! I was in a live trap, whisked away to the vet and then back to the sanctuary and finally...I got to go in where the other cats were. I am soooo happy now with my cat friends. Sir Hissy is a good boy, probably just very scared. He is a great resident here - eats his food and uses his litter box and never picks a fight. He just doesn't want anything to do with people. His BFF is Pebbles. Feel free to contact us if you would like to know more.

Ziggy

Ziggy and Zachary were from a litter of 5 kittens in 2011. They were dropped of at another local shelter, but that shelter didn't have room for them. Purrfect Paradise agreed to take them in. Both Ziggy and Zachary are very sweet - just a little cautious at first. They like to lay on laps when you sit down with them. Two of their brothers have been adopted so now these boy are now looking for their forever homes. They would make a great pair since they almost look identical and have grown up together. For more information about this handsome boy and/or his brother, contact Kim at coquina2@aol.com. (Purrfect Paradise adopts to the Kansas City and immediate surrounding area only)

Nacho

NACHO DOB: 04.02.2010* Nacho was a stray from the Stockton area. He is an active, happy, goofy guy who will need a little training but should make a good pet. He has his own little tune: (sung to the tune of Macho Man by The Village People) Nacho Nacho Dog...He needs a home 'cause he's not cho-oh dog. And it just repeats that line. OK. More of a jingle, but he likes it when you sing it to him. He likes to play tug of war with his rope toys. He has even learned to sit on command. He is crate trained, housebroken, neutered, and has had all his shots. He is good with other dogs, but wouldn't suggest cats. He is the kind of dog that would love to cuddle with you and watch some tv but ready when you are to get up and go for a run. Ideally he would have a fenced yard to run and play in. He needs a forever home with someone to love and play with him. If you are interested in adopting Nacho, please send an email to PawPrintzRescue@gmail.com and request an application. All of our animals are up to date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have had a physical exam. At adoption we provide; veterinary records and vaccine certificates, castration certificate, lifetime lost animal support, leash, collar, ID tag, and a familiar toy or blanket to help them settle in. We also keep in contact and try to help with any issues that may need to be additional support. Adoption Requirements: Application, Interview, Homecheck Adoption Fee: $200.00 This dog is located near Fresno, Ca *Age is always a guess with rescue dogs but here at Paw Printz we believe everyone should have a birth day so when the vet guesses at their age, we work out what would be a good birthday for each dog and make it so!

Karsen

Hello. My name is Karsen. I lived my short life scrounging for food from a local convenience store. At first, there were two other dogs with me. One may have been my mama. She was a Basset Hound mix. The other was a male, but I don't know if he was my father. He was a smallish terrier type dog, and he often chased me away from food. He liked me okay as long as there wasn't any food around, but then he was really mean and nasty to me. I don't know what happened to those dogs. I only know that I was suddenly alone. People kept passing by me in speeding cars, and I narrowly escaped being hit on more than one occasion. One lady would stop and set out food for me, but she thought I might belong with someone, so she didn't take me with her. I often slept on a wet t-shirt in the pouring down rain. Maybe I didn't notice the rain, or maybe I was too afraid or depressed to try to find any bit of shelter. I didn't mind the rain so much, but I could tell that the air was getting colder. The sky was changing. Something happened that day. I'm not sure what, but the lady who sometimes stopped and gave me food drove past me. But then she suddenly stopped and turned around. She called out to me, but I didn't respond. She walked closer to me, and she was worried that I was dead. She called out again, but I still didn't respond. Then she touched me, and I raised my head a bit. I didn't fight or struggle. I didn't know what was going on, but I knew that she had stopped to feed me before, and she had never hurt me or chased me away. She scooped me into her arms and walked (very angrily, I think) into the convenience store to ask if I belonged with anyone. The girl at the counter said, "You, if you want her. She hangs around all the time." The lady gave her an evil look (I didn't know she could look so mean!), and carried me to her warm, cozy van. I don't remember this part, but I've heard her tell it many times. Before she had driven more than a hundred feet, I was asleep. I had never felt so warm or safe in my life! I didn't know that the temperature was going to be far below freezing that night, but the lady must have known something. She said that they were full and that they didn't need another dog. I don't know what that means, but I know that it didn't stop her from picking me up this time. I've never been hungry or cold again. In fact, there's nothing I need or want--except a home and family of my very own. I am a good little girl, and I know that someone out there is looking for a dog just like me. If you're that someone, please contact the folks at Red Fern. Karsen's adoption fee is $200.00. If you are interested in giving Karsen the kind of home she deserves, please text or call Kim at 731.332.0318 and schedule a visit. If you call, be prepared to leave a message. If you do not receive a response within 24 hours, please try again. We don't want Karsen to miss an opportunity, but we work full-time jobs and take care of the shelter animals afterwards. Thank you.

She has come out of her shell and would love to find a home where someone will give her the time she needs to adjust on her own. Ali is a gorgoeus torbie with browns and peaches in her coat. She is on the petite side and weighs in around 10lbs. She needs someone who has a little patience who will allow her to come around on her own. It doesn't take her long but she needs to know she can trust you. She loves to be petted and rub up against your legs. She loves to play and would do best in a home with another cat. Her ideal home would be a quiet home with no young children. Ali is estimted to be 2-3 years old. She is already spayed, vaccinated and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV. She just needs to find that special someone who will give her the chance she needs. She is a sweet cat who deserves a chance at finding her forever home.
