Harker

Harker is RIDICULOUS. We've never met a hippo this sweet! She'll just lay there smiling while you smoosh her face, belly up, and fall asleep... snoring like a baby. Love pours out of her for every living thing... people, dogs, cats, birds, we suspect she could even love a cockroach. She's especially gentle and sweet with children. Harker is 10 years old and a small but dense 45 lbs. She was rescued from a hoarding situation in Texas, having lived in squalor all her life with multiple dogs, cats, and kids. Perhaps her hard life made her the way she is now - mild-mannered, unflappable, kind. Harker is fostered in Brooklyn and is available for adoption anywhere in the US as long as the adopter is willing and able to travel to NYC to meet and adopt her. Please fill out the adoption application here: https://bit.ly/rosr_adoptnfoster.

Cato

Cato cat, that’s me. I’m a 5-month-old, orange tabby and white male kitten who was found in LeRoy with my sister Vanessa and seven much younger kittens. The youngsters all went to a foster home for a bit. ‘Nessa an’ me, we’re hanging out at the shelter so we can be adopted. My name means “wise,” but that doesn’t mean I’m a wise guy. I’m actually shy, more than my sister, and I, um, get very vocal when I’m nervous, just so you know. I do like being petted, though, and I play. I do like to play. So, maybe, you know, I think I’d feel better, um, more confident, I guess, if I could be with ‘Nessa or even another cat for a friend. Is that okay to say that? You’ll like me, I think. I’m a nice, gentle boy. Okay, then. Bye. Cato. Adoption fee $150 + microchip fee $30 + tax

Birch ($150 Adoption fee)

Our next transport date will be Friday/Saturday, November 6th/7th. Please see below for pick-up locations. We cannot do meet and greets with the puppies. The transport trip is hard and long and it's too long for a puppy to be in a vehicle if he had to return to Texas. We do not take deposits. All adoption fees are paid in person at pick-up. We were able to save Birch and his brother Blaze on their very last day of life from a high kill shelter in a neighboring county. They are both beautiful and a gorgeous blue grey color. Birch is a very friendly boy always ready to snuggle up for pets and affection. I haven't had a chance to test him with cats, but we can, and I think he would do fine. He is good around the horses without chasing. Birch has gotten along great with all the dogs here and has been gentle when playing with the younger puppies too. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. If you are interested in one of our dogs, please do not delay completing the application. There is always a high interest in our puppies, and applications are processed for approvals as they are received when at all possible. Using the link or copying and pasting the link is the quickest way to get the application to us. https://form.jotform.com/222705071398154 The total adoption fee $150 (Birch has a sponsor) includes transport to designated locations: Collinsville, Springfield, Bloomington, Oglesby, and Roscoe, IL. Sun Prairie, and Fon Du Lac, WI. *St Louis area adopters would meet us in Collinsville, IL (this pick-up will be Friday evening). Springfield, Bloomington, and Oglesby pick-ups are also Friday evening. **Green Bay and Sheboygan adopters will meet us in Fon Du Lac. ***Joliet and Davenport area adopters will meet us in Ogelsby or Roscoe, IL. ****MILWAUKEE _ We don’t have a Milwaukee stop this time but do have 2 stops in WI and will be stopping in Roscoe, IL. Most of our puppies will travel with two rounds of vaccines and sometimes three. Occasionally we will not have had them long enough for the second round. You will receive vaccination records for your puppy prior to transport. Our puppies less than 6-8 months old will not be spayed or neutered, and the cost of out-of-state surgery is not included in our adoption fees. Spaying and neutering is an adoption contract requirement that it will be done by the puppy's first birthday. This will be at the expense of the adopter. Atlanta Texas Area Spay Neuter Project is a 501c3; proceeds go back to spaying and neutering dogs for low-income families in the Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana area and the care of puppies and dogs that we take in. If needed, we assist low-income families with emergency vet expenses for their current pets. All our dogs will be in foster care in Texas until they are adopted. We cannot guarantee breed. We do our best based on the appearance of the pup and the mother if she is known to us. We rarely know the father of the puppies and litters of puppies can have more than one father. In other words, the litter can be full of half siblings with different fathers for the puppies. Visit our Facebook page: Atlanta Texas Area Spay/Neuter Project

Paprika

Paprika is a funny, goofy, loving ball of energy!! She is a German Shepard pup, approximately 9 months old, that is the epitome of her breed. She has a lot of energy and can get bored quickly, but is sweet as can be and very affectionate. She has been in foster with multiple other dogs of all breeds and she has gotten along well with them all. She also has been in foster with a cat and has done well. She also has been around children as young as 2 years of age with no issues. Because of her energy level still always suggest supervision with kids. Paprika loves to be outside running, playing fetch, or playing with other dogs. She loves going on walks and although we are still working on leash manners she has been doing great. Potty training is still a work in progress. She will go potty every time she goes outside but is still learning how to hold her bladder for longer periods of time. She is kenneled during the day when no one is home. When she gets bored and is unsupervised she has been destructive with chewing. The chewing is still very much a puppy behavior that she can easily be redirected from when supervised and has improved with training. Paprika will need an owner that is willing to continue with her training and can accommodate her energy level. In return she will be your best friend and most loyal companion. She is a wonderful pup with so much love to give. She is hysterical and will make you laugh ever day. All dogs are brought current on their vaccinations up to the point of adoption. Parasite protection is also done with dewormings, flea/tick prevention application, and heartworm prevention. If old enough a heartworm test is done. The spay/neuter and microchip are included in the adoption fee. All our dogs go to their new homes with their collar/leash, dog bed, favorite toy(s), bowls, and some food to acclimate them. For adoption consideration, please fill out an application from our website at (www.causeforpaws.net) Adoption fee is $400 donation. Please also read about our adoption process and requirements on the website.

HARPER

HARPER is here! A new little girl is at WFTRM Chicago. And I say little cause she is itty bitty. 16 pounds of pretty, petite princess. Beautiful coat and markings with her wee pricked ears and expressive eyes. Harper is 5 years old - a very busy girl - lonely for attention and affection - loves belly rubs and cuddles. Very sweet girl who gives kisses when prompted and when not as well. She loves her toys and playing, especially the latex honking ones like piggies and goosies and crinkles. She is darling to watch giving her new ones – her eyes light up like Christmas. Harper is friendly with other dogs, can play rough and want to win the tug o war game, so charming with everyone she meets. She loves to go in the car but seems to want to be in the front passenger seat with full view and staring at other cars we go past. The big fenced yard was a bit overwhelming for her at first, she would run out half way and bark and run back on the deck. It did not take her long to love it and has a ball out there running and playing. Harper had a home that was in my opinion, not suitable for a Wire Fox puppy. Her Breeder sold her to a man in his mid 80s. With Dementia. With no fenced yard. A leash tied out to the patio door handle where she would languish, as he would fall aslepp and forget about her. She would bark and bark as she was scared until the neighbors complained. Finally, his family is moving him to a safer place, and posted a free come get her today ad. Harper also had an incident as a puppy where she is lucky to be alive. She chewed an electrical cord, after calling the vet he instructed them to rush her to emergency. She recovered but a piece of the side of her tongue is carved out. It is all healed, it does not affect her eating or playing or smiling for the camera. She was not fond of me brushing her mouth area but the rest she liked. Harper had not been to a vet since 2021 so she needed everything. She has received a 3-year Rabies Vaccination, a 3 Year Distemper, a Bordatella, a full Heartworm 4dx panel, Fecal Sent out, on Revolution preventative, and a microchip. She is a healthy little girl who is excited to get the perfect home that would love a tiny terrier to treasure and pamper. I can pick her up and tuck her under one arm she is so little and feels like a stuffie. She is however a door bolter and just putting your hand on the handle zoom she is there. Same at the gate too and very speedy and wanting to zip out. I think she would do best with a fenced yard and where she would feel safe as her first 5 years probably haunted her. Harper is a dream and will make every Christmas Wish come true for that right family.
