Clementine is an Australian Shepherd/Redbone Hound mix who was born in August 2015. She weighs about 30 lbs. Clem has a medical condition called megaesophagus. Dogs with megaesophagus have a dilated esophagus due to lack of muscle tone, which causes food to sit in the esophagus rather than travel to the stomach. As a result, it is not unusual for her to regurgitate. She is on a structured feeding routine and eats in a Bailey Chair. In spite of this, Clementine is an otherwise ‘normal' dog. She is very friendly with everyone – including other dogs and cats – and especially loves children. She is housebroken and crate trained. Clem’s megaesophagus will be a lifelong medical condition that will need continued monitoring. She is an incredibly sweet dog and would love to be part of a family.

She has a touch of white at her throat and a couple of other places, too. She is up to date on shots, her brother tested negative for FeLV/FIV so she would be negative too, and she is spayed. A litter of 5 feral kittens were trapped on the east side of Waterloo. This litter of 5 ... males are Bearcat, Slugger, and Oreo and females are Fudge and Angel ... are all very sweet and friendly. MacGuyver is a very sweet boy that loves being with people. He is also very inquistive and a big explorer. While he also loves to snuggle with his human family, he does not like to be picked up, and he can tend to be a bit of a prankster with the other cats. One of his favorite activities is to help with housecleaning, including litter boxes. If it is a covered litter box, he jumps to the top and has to nuzzle his foster mom's face. A disclaimer does need to be made on this fine fellow with regards that he does have some behavioral issues. He doesn't seem to think so, but his foster family would tell you otherwise. MacGuyver is neutered, current on vaccines, tested for feline leukemia/aids, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $75.

Jasmine was brought into foster care as a feral kitten in 2015, hand caught in Dow Gardens. It took a while to tame her, and she can still be a bit skittish with new people or with sudden movements, but this girl has come a long way. Jasmine gets along with most of the other cats and ktitens in her foster home. It is unknown how she is around dogs. She is extremely playful and very inquisitive. She will snuggle with her foster mom when the activity of the house calms down, and she will engage with people that she has come to know. Jasmine is prone to UTIs when stressed. She is seeking a very calm home that allows her to determine what she is comfortable with. Jasmine is spayed, current on vaccines, tested for feline leukemia/aids, and microchipped. Here is our new girl, Iris. She was hit by a car and has a broken pelvis. She was taken to the shelter where they put her on the EU list. We came and got her and took her straight to the vet for care. Her pelvis is healing very nicely and she will be spayed in the coming weeks. Iris is current on all her shots and has been chipped. She is good with other dogs as we have seen with her foster. Iris is full of energy and feeling good. She is in great spirits and is a happy girl. Iris is approx 3 yr old and still a puppy that will need a strong handler because she is a strong girl. She loves her toys and loves belly rubs. Tom takes great care of the other cats. And, he can often be found sleeping and cuddling with them. Sometimes he even protects them from the more aggressive cats in the cattery. Tom has a "Gal Pal" named Sunni that he especially likes to spend time with. As for people, Tom has his favorites and you can quickly become one if you have treats! He will follow you around the room for chin scratches and lovin' once he is comfortable. Most of the day is spent cat napping and he is a pretty easy going guy. Reintroducing Faro...this sweet girl came into rescue about 4 years ago. In November of 2018 she was diagnosed with cancer, but given her young age at the time (4), we opted to give her every chance and so she started chemo. She finished up in March of 2019 and has been doing great ever since; in fact, all through chemo, she never missed a beat. She has gone for routine ultrasounds and x-rays and her doctor states everything looks good. Faro has, so far, been given a second chance when we pulled her into rescue (she was slated for euthanasia), and another second chance when we decided she was worth the time and expense of chemo.....our hope now is that she can find that special person to give her yet once more chance to show what a wonderful dog she is.... Faro is very loving; she would do great as a walking buddy; loves the car and is also just as content to be a couch potato. She does well with most dogs, so a proper introduction would be a must; she ignores the cats in her foster home. We would love to have a happily ever after for this precious girl.... Faro is spayed, micro-chipped, UTD on vaccines and on heartworm preventative.

Roxy is a happy, loving girl who loves attention and could be pet all day! She smiles -- so cute. Roxy loves the park, swimming, and desert walks. She's very friendly and likes people, dogs, and children. She plays fetch and loves tennis balls, toys, and shredding things (put your shoes away!). Due to Roxy's physical strength and lack of leash training, she needs a strong, active owner who will help her with further training. She knows basic commands (come, no, sit) but she often ignores them if she is distracted. Roxy is beginning to understand "stay, heel, no bark, and stop" but needs additional training. Roxy has a tendency to happily bark as people walk by, and we are currently working on that. She responds very well to positive reinforcement, such as "Good girl, no bark!" as she very much wants to please. Roxy may display protective reactions around the home area and is a good watchdog. She has learned a lot in short period of time, wants to be where you are and is a good friend and companion! Due to obesity, Roxy 5 requires strict diet, thyroid medication, and exercise daily.
