Bobbie is female golden tabby with medium fur. She is a rescue from a kill shelter downstate. She arrived with a short deformed tail, the cause of which has not been determined. After she arrived we found that she suffered from a neurological problem that caused her to periodically scream as if she was being tortured. She is on medication that has that under good control. She is rather picky on who she will be friendly toward, and doesn't seem to like other cats very much. But when she finds someone she likes, she can be a really nice little girl. Basia is a female Lab / Mastiff mix with a birth date of 4/7/16 that came to us as a stray. She is just a big baby and wants to be in your lap! She would do best with no other animals in the house though she does fine when out on walks and loves to play with the other dogs across the fence. Basia currently weighs 60 pounds and would do very well with a family with a fenced yard so she can get the appropriate exercise. This dog's adoption fee is $275. Molly is an all black panther who is the sweetest, most affectionate cat ever. She was born around 3/2015 and is a huge lap cat that doesn't mind being carried around cradled like a baby. She even loves belly rubs! Molly gets along great with other cats and dogs and is very affectionate towards them. Her daughter Trixie, is very bonded to her and would like to keep them together. Bane, Male, 6yrs, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Tri color, 60lbs Bane is nothing short of personality, always happy to give you a big smile. He loves to be on the go, but is often happy for a good romp in the yard. Pretty much if his humans are doing it, he is down for it.and at the end of the day, he is happy to settle in for some couch time and a good cuddle. Bane is crate trained and has good house manners. He knows his basic obedience and loves to learn. Bane gets along with dogs medium and up, though he can be overwhelming for some dogs. True to the Terrier in him, he has prey drive. So small dogs cats and other creatures of small and furry variety are a no go for him. Bane does love humans of both the large an small variety, he just requires that they adore him too. This boy has energy to burn and can be high drive. So daily exercise is an absolute must. He needs a 6 foot privacy fence to keep him safe. Our bully breed adoption guidelines apply. TSDRs Tucker2 was transferred back to a foster home after “working” at our boarding facility. After he was returned from his last failed adoption he went to our board-n-train for additional training. He graduated and became one of the star pupils who they used for training and socializing new dogs that came in from other rescues for training and/or evaluation. He is doing well back at the house and loves playing with foster siblings Alex and Alita. He is house and crate trained. He is a strong willed and smart husky that needs an experienced owner (no first time owners) who will continue to give him structure and guidance or he will likely regress to being a brat again! He is a sweet boy and has matured since his early days. He prefers a home with no young kids! He’s also not a fan of having his paws messed with (including nail trims). Patches is a beautiful female golden tortie. She was found as a kitten by our founder and brought into the shelter. As a kitten she was very shy around people. It took her quite a while to overcome that, but now that she is in one of adult cat rooms she has become much less shy. She can frequently be found on one of the cat trees or sometimes looking out the window at the birds. You might have to approach her slowly or with a treat before she will let you pet her. Hutch is a senior, 8 year old, Chihuahua mix (basically a Chihuahua on stilts) who was originally transferred from the SFSPCA with his brother Rickie. They were overwhelmed by the noise and activity of the city and needed a quiet place to decompress and process all the changes in their life. Hutch is a shy, funny and quirky dog who loves treats and curling up in a warm and comfy bed. He would do best in a quiet predictable home with a yard where he can sunbathe. He frequently stays in the sanctuary manager's office during the day and is happy to nap away the day on a couch or in an ex pen with other small dogs. If you are looking for a small dog with low exercise needs and a cat-like personality, Hutch may be your guy! We would like to find Rickie and Hutch a home together as they have spent most of their life with each other. They are easy keepers and don't need a lot to stay happy. All of our animals are up-to-date on their vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and have had a physical exam. Egyptian Baladi Adult (5yrs).Female. Medium Up to date on vaccinations & spayed Special Needs: Incontinent & no back legs Good in a home with other dogs. Cats are unknown. Prefers a home without children Selima is a medium energy girl that does well with other dogs. She won't do well in a home with children (wrong energy for her) & cats are unknown. She does use welping mats at home & diapers for travel due to her incontinency. While Selima does not have back legs, it does not stop her at all from scooting around & living her best life. Selima was born in Egypt where baladi's are considered trash & many people there go out of their way to hurt this "breed". She was born with a hem vertebra and as a very young puppy; a very traumatic injury took away her ability to walk. Selima was shot, rendering her paralyzed. As if that wasn't cruel enough, she was then tossed into a cemetery where she was left to die. Thankfully, not everyone in Egypt is cruel. Selima was noticed by a person visiting a loved one at the cemetery & was brought to a local rescue for medical care. That was in June 2015. The bullet was removed from her spine and because of the extent of the injuries, her back legs also needed to be removed. Today, Selima is a new dog. Even with no legs, she can cruise around the house just as fast as her four legged siblings. Selima loves playtime with her other fur siblings, playing dress up for the holidays, snuggling with her foster mom and racing around the house like a maniac. There are some things though that make Selima nervous. Children can be too rambunctious and fast, men can be too big and their voice scares me. Going in a wheelchair? She hates it and would rather be a scooting pup . Selima has never been around a cat before so we're not sure how she would do with them but a cat would have the luxury of being able to jump on something if they want to get away from her. Her ideal home would be with a woman or if there happens to be a man with a soft manner and a ton of patience. *Transport can be arranged to any approved adopter within the US at no additional charge. Zanadu is a beautiful tuxedo kitty. She is a very happy fun loving girl. Zanadu was rescued from a Shelter within 24 hours of being euthanized with her 4 newborn kittens because of overcrowding during kitten season this year. She is a model mommy and even took in an orphan kitten that was found all alone. She is so beautiful. She has a bit of an Oriental look to her. Almost 7 years old, Scrappy came to us as a 9 mo old puppy in Oct 2016. He was found with his litter mates in a trash bin. He has severe possession issues and has been in 6 homes in the 6 years we have had him. He is a sweet boy, but you cannot take toys, food, or anything he thinks is his, away from him. He is not a candidate for a home with children. His ideal home would be with a single person who is an experienced owner who will understand and accept his limits and not try to "fix" him.
