Nugget

Meet Nugget! Nugget is an adorable 1.5 year old Border Collie mix who is ready to find her forever home! With her sweet personality and affectionate nature, Nugget is the kind of pup who loves to be around people and is always eager to make new friends. Whether she's curling up next to you for a nap or following you around the house, Nugget's devotion will make her a wonderful companion. Nugget has a social side, too! She came into the shelter with a couple of other dogs and has shown that she enjoys the company of other canine friends. If you already have a dog in your home, Nugget would likely fit right in and could thrive with a playmate. However, Nugget may have a strong prey drive and would likely not do well in a home with cats. We believe a cat-free household would be the best fit for her. Nugget is still learning the ropes when it comes to manners. She's got lots of playful energy, which means she can get a little too excited when out on walks and might need some help with leash training. We feel that due to Nugget's behaviour, she would not be suitable to go into a home with small children, as she can jump up, and get over excited easily. However, the great news is that Nugget is highly food-motivated, which makes training with her fun! With some consistent guidance and plenty of yummy treats, she's sure to pick up good habits in no time. Because of her breed mix, Nugget is not just an active dog but also a smart one. Border Collies are known for their intelligence and working instincts, so Nugget will benefit from plenty of mental stimulation to keep her sharp and happy. We recommend using puzzle toys, Kongs, snuffle mats, or even trying out fun training games to keep her mind engaged. A combination of physical and mental exercise will ensure she stays healthy and well-behaved. If you think Nugget is the missing piece to complete your family, we would love to hear from you. Please submit an application today and give Nugget the loving home she deserves! Please follow these steps if interested in adoption! 1. View the animal's profile at adopt.spca.bc.ca 2. Submit an application https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ 3. If it's a match, staff will contact you to set up an appointment for a meet & greet. 4.
