Vincenzo
You can call me Vinny if you'd like! I came all the way from Texas where I was on the euthanasia list. These nice people saw my post asking for help and they saved me.
I have the nicest foster family. It's because of them I am here. They really are taking the bestest care of me and say I'm really sweet.
Here's what my amazing foster mom has to say 'bout me:
He is very friendly and social and loves your attention. (He's a hugger but not in an aggressive way- I am working on telling him down.) He knows sit and is treat motivated so I bet he will love to learn more tricks. He comes when called and listens well. Walks well on leash and so far has kept his crate clean and no accidents.
His tummy is going through some food changes and I am impressed he has not had an accident in my house- I am also being consistent on letting him out.
He gets along with my dogs and is interested in my cat but backed off when the cat said no thank you!
He slept in his crate the last couple nights, but he does cry in the very beginning. I think he just misses people, but he's quiet the rest of the night. No issues with my kids or their friends however, but he doesn't know his size so may need to be cautious around smaller kiddos.
He is a bag of bones at 50 pounds right now so once he packs on some weight, he will be a pretty good sized boy. I gave him a bath and he tolerated it just fine. He does need a grooming to just sort of get his coat evened out, but I think his coat will be easily maintained after that. He doesn't have that real tight curl so regular brushing and an occasional groom will suit him. He gets up in the car easily and seems to want to ride, but I think he gets a bit spooked during. I think he will be fine after settling in, he has had a lot of trauma and traveling lately. He did great at vet today and was a friendly pal to all people and dogs!

Lola
Pretty girl Lola was dumped in the country with one of her six week old puppies. This was several weeks ago, and the puppy has since found a home, so now it's Lola's turn! She is about 50 pounds and friendly with kids, dogs, and cats. She is potty trained and sleeps all night quietly in her kennel. She loves to cuddle, and would be happy to play fetch and run in the backyard (when it's not too hot!)

Ollie
Ollie is a 2 year old Shepherd mix who is stunning!
He's had a rough past and it takes a minute for him to trust, but when he does he loves with his whole heart! He would be perfect for an older person searching for a best friend.
Ollie is looking for someone kind and patient to give his to, is that you?

Finley
Meet Finley!
Fin is a 2 year old border collie mix. He has a LOT of energy, and would do best in an active home. He loves his walks, and playing. He's good with other large dogs. Due to his energy, he would do best in an adult only home.
Finley needs a firm handler, someone who is patient and will use positive reinforcement to reward good behavior. He was never shown how to act as a puppy, and still has a lot of puppy tendencies. He is house and kennel trained, but lacks manners that he is working on.

Marble
Marble was a mom with puppies...they were going to be euthanized in a small shelter in TX.
They had a terrible story... they were seized by animal control and the owner was charged and convicted for felony animal cruelty. Marble was in a crate that was way too small for her, and the puppies were in a separate crate. She originally had 6 pups but one had passed away. When animal control found them, one of the pups was feeding on the decreased sibling in order to survive. Mama and puppies were living in their own excrement, and all were extremely emaciated when found. Now, they were in the shelter...all out of time. Hoping for rescue a chance to experience a happy life.
Our amazing coordinator worked to get them out and we had amazing fosters who opened their homes to these beautiful pups.
Now, Marble is living in the loved life for the first time in her foster home...and some of her babies are off with their families.
She's ready for what every dog should know...a loving home. Her foster family adores her. She's a feisty girl with a heart of gold who LOVES deeply and adores cuddling. She's on the small side of medium and is adorable!!!
She has tested positive for heartworm, but has begun treatment. We will take care of all vet care costs associated with treatment and will be happy to answer any questions. Dogs with heartworm go on to live long, healthy lives after treatment.

Annie
Sister kittens Annie and Frannie came into GCAS in August. They will be blind for life (their blindness is due to abnormal development of ocular tissue while in utero due to problems the mother cat had; Annie had one eye removed as it had never really formed) but are otherwise healthy. They need to be strictly indoors, and will benefit from an environment that stays fairly stable over time.(They learned within a few hours to not bump into dining room table legs, but the rocking chair can get moved around, and they will sometimes bump into that when they are playing!) Their hearing and responsiveness to voice and sound is heightened, and the world seems a more interesting place to them because of their lack of sight--everything is a mystery to be explored! They can both sense some changes in light/shadow (they respond when the shades are lifted and enjoy going towards the sunshine. They are quite bonded, and help each other figure out the world; ideally they will get adopted together! They are wonderful company, and fascinating and heartwarming to watch and interact with.
Annie has grey cow spots and is the more laid-back of the two. She’s almost a DMH, and her fur is soft and silky like a chinchilla! She’d rather sit or lie on your lap and be stroked, while Frannie often wants to run around and chase after anything she hears—crinkle balls, jingle balls, pistachio shells!-- rolling on
the floor. If she can hear it moving across the floor quickly, Frannie forgets everything—even her dinner—and will go racing after it. I’m betting she could catch mice. Frannie has a large stash of toys that she carries in her mouth and then hides underneath the couch. Annie also echo-locates toys when she wants to, but her predatory drive seems not to be as high as Frannie’s—Annie is a lover.
Both Annie and Frannie are people-oriented. hey love being petted and stroked, and will purr and roll over. They enjoy doing kitty yoga each morning with me. They genuinely enjoy human companionship—they know when someone walks into the room, and will move closer. They are also intensely curious about our sweet old dog—they can sense a smelly, somewhat noisy (heavy breathing,
snorting) beast, and come close to him and sniff him. They also do the same thing with our older cats, whom they’ve met. They are very curious—maybe even more so than “sighted” kittens—about everything new, so will need some special oversight at first when being introduced into a new home! Perhaps their lack of sight makes the world an even more fascinating puzzle to figure out. They have
learned how to hop onto bookshelves, into boxes, and they both enjoy lazing in their scratch lounge.
Annie and Frannie are close and play together a lot, and they really help each other figure things out, so it would be wonderful if they can be adopted together. They are about 4 months old, weighing 4-5 lbs each, and are both spayed and up-to-date on vaccines. They need a home where they are strictly indoors--at no risk of escaping outdoors—and where the people in the house have good balance (sometimes Annie will walk very close to your feet and ankles in her attempt to get close to you). They also will do best if their surroundings don’t change
frequently.
