Ring's and Minnie's purr machines are revved up and ready for a forever home! Ring (M) and Minnie (F) are two of six kittens from a litter born in early August and are 13 weeks old as of 11/2/24. The only boy of the litter, Ring is a true lap cat, climbing onto a lap and rolling over to get belly rubs. Minnie is super affectionate and enjoys sleeping in the crook of her foster mom's arm at night. Happy, sweet, and curious, these look-alike kittens love to play with toys of all types, chase each other around, climb and jump, and explore new places. Bearded dragons are curious, docile and friendly creatures. They are able to recognize their owners and will eventually become more relaxed over time. Bearded dragons can tolerate daily handling and can even enjoy perching on their owner's shoulders. It is important that when committing to take care of an exotic animal for the entirety of its life that you are prepared for that commitment. Bearded dragons can live 6-10 years with proper care. Exotic animals require annual vet exams much like a dog or cat. The size of the enclosure depends on the age and size of the bearded dragon. For example, a baby bearded dragon should be kept in a 10 gallon glass tank, a juvenile in a 20 gallon tank, and an adult in a 40 gallon tank or larger. Proper temperatures in the tank are extremely important. As with other reptiles, a temperature gradient should be provided for your bearded dragon, as well as a basking spot. The gradient should go from 80 to 85 degrees Fahrenheit on the cool side, up to a basking temperature of around 95 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Nighttime temperatures can fall to approximately 65 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Exposure to UV lighting is extremely important for pet bearded dragons. Special fluorescent bulbs can be found at pet stores that provide UV light. Your bearded dragon should be able to get within 12 inches of these lights to benefit from the UV emitted. Bearded dragons should be fed once every 24 hours and can eat a combination of insects and vegetables with an occasional treat.
