Hattie has been at the shelter most of her life. She came to the shelter with her brother Hector who passed away a number of years ago. She was a loner for a long time but has found her snuggle mate in Twix. She used to be a semi-feral cat but lately has started allowing our volunteers to pet her and even comes up to us for attention. She is a beautiful cat with very soft fur and a lovely coat. She would love to live out her life where she is loved and cared for and is eager to know the love of a family. All cats have been spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia tested, and received age-appropriate vaccinations, including a rabies vaccine, wormed, and have had a wellness exam by one of our Clarion PAWS veterinarian partners. He is mobile (actually, he's quite fast!) and pulls himself around with his front legs. He's about 3 years old, loves attention and likes keeping busy. He cannot empty his bladder on his own and needs to have it manually expressed several times a day. So a person who has had experience with this, or a medical background would be ideal, but not mandatory. He is a beautiful cat with a beautiful spirit. He does not do well with other animals and we recommend against small children due to his strength. His adult owner should have dog experience. This sweet girl is Bella and she has spent over half her life in rescue. She is spayed, current on shots, and micro chipped. Bella has been diagnosed with chronic dry eye. She requires eye drops to be administered twice a day in each eye. She has lived in a home with small and large dogs and kids. She is currently looking for a forever home. Bella is wild and silly! She loves to play. Bella is very vocal and this can get her in trouble with some dogs. A structured home that will work with Bella on impulse control and outings would be best. Tucker & Tyler are two beautiful, 6 year old friendly litter mates who are very bonded and need to be adopted together. These boys are very energetic and playful. They certainly are very entertaining!!!! There Foster Mom says she can always hear them running around chasing balls, toys and each other. A cat tree is the number one necessity for these boys as their favorite past time is cackling while watching the birds and squirrels. Sometimes it even seems they are having a conversation together on who could chase and get the birds first. What do we know?!?! Please meet Olive, our newest Chewy's Hope baby. Olive came into a shelter down south pregnant and heartworm positive. She was fostered until her babies were born and weaned. Her babies were then transported to a rescue. For whatever reason, Olive didn't get to go with her babies and was taken back to the shelter where she wound up on the EU list. I happened to see her picture late the night before she was to be Eu'd and knew that we couldn't let this beautiful little girl die. With the help of several amazing ladies, we were able to get Olive from Corpus Christi into our hands where she will get the treatment she needs and will never wind up in a shelter again! Thank you ladies for all your help! You know who you are. It never ceases to amaze me what can be accomplished when everyone works together with the welfare of dogs first in mind. I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced-in backyard. I am completely house trained, crate trained , and am very intelligent. I know what sit, lay down , and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me. I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy, but I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion . Basically, I just like to be doing what my people are. I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don't pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness. I may have to meet you a couple times before I know I can trust you . I can't tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people and be comfortable in situations. Because of this, I should not be in a home with young kids or teens. My dream home would be with an adult family who is familiar with my kind of challenges and who has a physically fenced in yard. I also want 1 other playful dog around my size (50 pounds+) or bigger to play with (I can play a little rough so they need to be tough like me) and a family who is very patient with me while I adjust to new people in my life. I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my humans! Once I know I can trust you, I just want to be around you and will be your shadow as you go through your day. I like it here at the adoption center where I'v called home for a few years now. I had a pretty rough time before I came to Iowa. I am missing some hair on my back end, it happen Egypt and we don't know what happened but could be the reason it takes time for Barclay to warm up to new people. I am all healed up and would love home with understanding people. I would do best in a quiet home with my few people that understand and love me. I will need on going care for my skin so I don't get sores. The volunteers keep my skin nice and moisturized and away from the sun so I don't get sun burns. I know lots of commands, sit, down, shake and I am crate trained. I love to play with toys too! I like playing with other dogs but I need a home with no kids. Everyone says I am a very handsome boy. If you are interested in Barclay we ask you to become a volunteer at the Last Hope Adoption Center so he can get to know you! Barclay has stranger danger and takes time to warm up to new people.
