Luigi

I’ve known life’s rough edges, surviving on the streets, relying on my wits. But don’t let that fool you. I’m a gentle soul, calm & serene. I’ve learned to appreciate the little things, like a warm spot to nap, a quiet moment to purr, and the gentle touch of a kind hand. I’ve got a lot of love to give. I’m looking for a forever home, a place where I can share my gentle spirit and quiet resilience. Let’s start our journey together. Luigi tested negative for FeLV and FIV, is neutered, microchipped for identification, and vaccinated for rabies and FVRCP. Email BCSSpayDay@gmail.com for an adoption application and to discuss if he is a good fit for your home. Once approved, we can meet you to complete the adoption. You can also meet him at our adoption events 2:30-5pm most Saturdays at the College Station Petsmart on University (back by the cat litter).

Cecilia

Meet Cecilia! This gorgeous girl adores cuddling with all she meets! Highly talkative and very curious, Cecilia wants to be involved in absolutely everything. She hates being cooped up, so homes with plenty of space for her to roam and play would be amazing. Families with younger animal lovers would pair nicely with Cecilia as she has boundless energy and adores interacting with people. During her brief time in-shelter, she was wholly unbothered by the presence of other cats and kittens (she was MUCH more interested in their toys!). We aren't certain if she'd get along with dogs, though given her outgoing nature, that's certainly a possibility if introduced slowly. *** Keep your new family member safe and consider investing in a catio or "cat-proofing" your balcony/deck. Leash-training, or letting your cat tag along in a pet backpack, are other safe options. Alternatively, you can bring the outside in with strategically placed bird-feeders and pollinator plants! *** Thank you for your interest in adopting! Do you think you could be Cecilia's person? Apply today! TIP: We strongly suggest all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Leaving these questions empty inhibits our ability to make the best match possible, and drastically effects the likelihood of receiving a call back. https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ The Victoria Center is open for in-person adoption viewings Tuesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, staff and animal well-being permitting! Some animals may not be available for public viewing due to limited shelter space, medical and behavioral reasons, or other contributing factors. Kittens are not available for viewing as they are often in foster homes for health & safety reasons. Due to the high number of applications, we will ONLY be contacting select individuals to further review their interest. While we do our best to let applicants know whether they've been selected or not, the center is extremely busy! If you do not hear back within a week, it's likely the animal has already found a forever home. Phone inquires regarding the status of your application cannot always be prioritized. Animals cannot be held for potential adopters for more than 24 hours without a legitimate reason. Primary Color: Tortoiseshell Weight: 2.01kg Age: 0yrs 3mths 3wks

Toast

Toast / 1 yr 7 mo / Male / Mixed breed / 54lbs / Rescued from Tennessee  / Currently fostered in Mississauga Good with dogs and kids / House and crate-trained / Best as only dog in the home Ready to be adored? Meet Toast, this boy’s charming, affectionate and playful personality lights up any room he’s in. His stoic face and beautiful brown eyes might make him seem serious and sad but don't be fooled-Toast is all about fun, naps, hugs and belly rubs. This big ol’ lovebug enjoys hosting parties, chewy toys, outdoor sniffaris, car rides, and lounging with his humans. Toast is a big-time hugger and thrives on socializing - saying hi to every person and dog he meets when he’s allowed to! He's quickly learning some obedience commands, although he may get distracted and sometimes outright stubborn, he is a hard worker and loves to please his people. Toast is looking for a family that will provide him the structure, routine and advocacy he likely hadn’t had in his early year as young pup. He has adjusted quite well to home living since his prior rescue arrangements living outdoors at a dog rescue statuary in Tennessee after he was saved from a high kill shelter.  Toast has mastered house, potty and crate training and can be left for up to 8 hours but does have a vocal personality that might not be ideal for apartments or close neighbours. Toast has learned to settle in his crate and a puppy proof space but might howl and whine like he’s telling you at various times "I'm being a good boy, but I can’t wait till you’re home" in his native dog language and then goes back to napping or chewing on his Benebone.   A bonus ideal family checklist for Toast would be a house with a fenced yard where he could lounge, play, and watch squirrels in peace but is not necessary, but if his physical and mental needs are met, like going for walks where he can sniff to his heart’s content, he wouldn’t need a fenced yard. Toast loves the attention he gets from kids and do well in a home with kids who would be ok with his size, hugs, and puppy paws.  Toast loves the company of his canine pals and lives in a foster home with a dog but had shown some early signs of guarding behaviour with the dog when he arrived that has since been managed with structure, supervision and removal of potential triggers like high value chews. As we continue to learn about Toast, he will thrive as the only dog in the home as he loves to be the centre of attention. It’s important to note no guarding concerns have ever progressed to any humans.  His initial excitement around cats has calmed, but because of his prey drive outdoors, a cat-free home would be ideal. As for squirrels, they're his sworn nemesis, and he loves nothing more than watching and hoping to chase them. Toast's loving nature and fun personality make him an excellent family dog. This love bug would thrive with a family that would take him on adventures, and is ready to give and receive lots of affection. If you're ready to give Toast a home where he can continue to thrive apply today at: www.caninehaven.org/dog-application Neutered / Microchipped / Vaccinations up to date **PLEASE FILL OUT OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED -https://caninehaven.org/dog-application/* For inquiries please do not use Adoptapet/Petfinder inquiry button - send an email directly to hello@caninehaven.org
