Boone

Our rescues mean a lot to the vet staff and DunRoamin' volunteers. We do everything we can to find the perfect homes for these pets, who are being given a second chance at a happy life. The application process requires pre-adoption applications, references, and interviews with you and those listed on your application in order to ensure a successful placement. If interested, please email a request for a pre-adopt application to inquiries@dunroaminstrayandrescue.com Boone was returned to us on December 22, 2017, from Woodstock where his family was unable to undertake his care due to personal reasons. Boone is a very nice boy who was born about October 21, 2013 and has been waiting for that perfect home since he came to us on April 21, 2015. Due to the fact that his body does not process some food well and tends to develop crystals in his urine, he must eat a diet of Royal Canin Urinary S/O food only. We have had dozens of cats on this diet and have had no recurrence of problems once they are placed on this diet. Boone is an extremely affectionate cat. He loves to be with people and will follow them around from room to room to ensure he always has people to whom he can express his love of life! While on his prescription diet he has experienced absolutely no problems whatsoever! Thanks, Royal Canin, for your S/O food! We hope for a family for Boone - he really would love to know the security and love of a permanent home. Please come meet him.

Elvis

Adorable Fabulous ELVIS!! Approx 8 years old, darling, small/ medium, mixed breed package of love and fun! He is dog friendly, loving and playful. He needs a knowledgeable handler to properly exercise him correctly and give him confidence outside of the home.. He gets a little nervous in the city but does great with joyful exercise and structure. Would make a great family dog with a large yard and kids to play with or a couple that is active and can exercise him as needed. He is a cuddle muffin and so full of love. He just needs a knowledgeable home. He went to adoptions and got an amazing lesson from a trainer that proved what an intelligent dog he is and how fast he can learn if someone will see he's smarter than the average bear! He has a gorgeous silky red coat with hair that defines a regal breed and he may be mixed with a spaniel type. He is lightweight and smaller than he appears! FUN and love is what we would say. Would love hiking, the beach, great with children and we always suggest our dogs have at least one doggie friend to play with! He has babysat all size dogs for years, Gets shy in public. Trainer showed LBWF team volunteers that exercise is key to allow him to realize the world is his friend so he can relax and enjoy.. He is such a good boy.His current partner is a small blue pittie and they play, cuddle and kiss throughout the day! Charlie - Foster Needed!

Charlie was hit by a car and permanently injured one of his front paws. Fortunately that didn't stop this sweet mackerel tabby cat from getting around and living a normal cat life. Charlie would still climb to the top of cat trees and cages. He may be a little slower than a fully functioning four-legged cat but he is very resourceful and determined. Charlie was also diagnosed with diabetes which is manageable just like it is in humans. But because Charlie requires insulin as a maintenance medication and regular vet visits to ensure he stays on a good health path we are looking for someone who can care for Charlie as a permanent foster. This means AALOC will pay all the medical expenses for Charlie but he will live with you as your own cat. Charlie is one of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet. He is not a leader cat, but more of a follower. He is very trusting and even when he needs to spend all day at the vet for his diabetes testing, the vets say he is so comfortable and purrs. These days Charlie likes to relax in his bed next to his feline buddies but would love to be in a home where he gets more love and attention. He likes being held and is pretty good at sitting on your lap or just reclining next to you on the couch. Charlie would make a great best friend. Please submit an application to permanently foster Charlie at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Charlie and get to know him a bit. You may also contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.

Popcorn

POPCORN IS AVAILABLE AS A PERMANENT FOSTER - ALL COSTS PAID BY AALOC Popcorn, a beautiful, female, long-haired cat, was surrendered several years ago by a female truck driver of some notoriety: her previous owner purchased a painting at a garage sale for $5.00 and it is thought to be an original Jackson Pollock. Even with her interesting history, unfortunately Popcorn has never been adopted and now she has lymphoma. She desperately needs a quiet home and someone special to love her. Popcorn is a bit shy but she is very gentle. She used to have very long fur and a big fluffy tail. If you think of the color of a Dreamsicle - a creamy, dreamy orange - you almost envision the color of Popcorn's coat. Popcorn recently started over grooming causing her to vomit so her luxurious coat has been shaved and she now looks like a little lion. Keeping her fur short is important for her health so she will need regular grooming. Popcorn will also need maintenance medication and regular vet visits to keep her in her best shape. As a permanent foster you would be responsible for loving and caring for Popcorn, taking her to her vet appointments and making sure she receives her medications and is comfortable. AALOC would pay for all of Popcorn's vet visits, grooming, food and medications. We also need a medical sponsor to help pay for Popcorn's veterinarian care. To donate to Popcorn's medical expenses and medication, please visit www.AALOC.org/donate, or for additional information regarding becoming Popcorn's medical sponsor email us at AALOC@AALOC.org. Please submit an application to foster Popcorn at www.aaloc.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Popcorn and get to know her a bit. Eve

Eve is a six-year-old Weimaraner mix and is approximately 40 lbs. She warms up quicker with slow introductions. But is touchy about her feet and tail. She does have some separation anxiety and therefore does not do well alone for long periods of time or she will bark. She does pick and choose her dog friends, but does best with dogs her size or smaller if introduced properly. She does not do well with cats and is nervous around small children. No apartments. She needs a secure yard to run and play in since a dog park is not a good option for her. Eve is very sweet and relaxed once she feels safe and secure in her environment... ADOPTION CONTRIBUTION FEE: $200.00 NOTE: All adoptions are only in the greater Houston, TX area. Please Note: WE ARE NOT A SHELTER- ALL DANES ARE IN FOSTER HOMES In many cases, the cost of vetting services is greater than the adoption contribution. The adoption contributions help defray the costs of vetting services, but rarely, if ever, cover all expenses. Additional donations are welcomed and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to help offset medical expenses. To do so, please visit our website at www.saveadane.org GDRST will have the following services completed as part of the adoption process. Each animal will be spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, heartworm tested, heartworm treated if applicable, fecal tested, de-wormed, microhcipped, and administered heartgard. Please note GDRST is an all-volunteer, run by individuals with full time careers. In order to meet with a Dane that you are interested in,you will need to complete an application. After receiving your application, a volunteer will verify with your vet the care on your current or previous animals and then contact you to set up a home eval and to discuss which Dane may be a match for you. He is thankful for his care and is glad all that is behind him now. Yates enjoys going for walks with our volunteers and is enjoying life. He loves to play with other dogs in our exercise areas. Yates is patiently waiting for a family to call his very own! Could that be you? Yates' birthday is September 5, 2012. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered and current on all vaccinations. Once completed, you can forward it to adoptions@horsecreekwildlife.org or fax it to 731-926-3000. Kim Austin, our adoption facilitator, will be in contact with you as soon as she has an opportunity to review your application. Understand that she has other duties and she will not ignore any interest shown in adopting one of our dogs. An application will need to be approved before a scheduled time to visit our dogs will be set up. It may take up to 48 hours before she returns your call or responds to your email, due to work schedules, holidays and adoption events. We do the very best we can for the dogs we have rescued and do not take the adoption process lightly. Please be patient and understand that we will place our rescued dogs in the very best homes possible and reserve the right to refuse applications.

Jack Black

Jack was surrendered to the pound by his family, which must have been a devastating experience for him. He is very affectionate and attaches very quick to every person he meets. He gets attached so much that he doesn’t want to share you with somebody else and therefore becomes protective. Jack needs a person who can be his leader, who will show him the way and help him to trust again. Jack is very smart and eager to learn. He is also great with dogs and it would be wonderful if he can live with a canine companion. [Jack Black weighs 45 lbs.] (1504)
