Gideon is a handsome sleek black and white boy who is approximately 10 years old. He was a stray from the Kankakee area. He had various injuries and parasites, but they are all healed up. He's a feisty player and far too boisterous to be on display at the Geneva Petco, so he can be visited by making an appointment with the foster home. Call Norma at 630-638-8737. Update:5/22/16 She is now in the main foster home living with multiple dogs and bunnies. One day she acts great and minds her own business and the next she is starting a fight. So we are adamant about her being the only pet. She bonds very quickly to ONE human and then will resource guard her person. In a quitter home I think she would be loving ALL the time and not cause so many issues but she's still learning how to behave in a home setting and how to accept and show love. She had a horrible start in life and sooo deserves a person of her own. An older couple or single mom or dad would be the perfect happily ever after for her. And although it's proving hard to find I have no doubt her happy ending is out there somewhere so even if she doesn't fit your home setting maybe someone in your life is looking for a loyal little snug-a-bug?? We recently pulled Cleo from a shelter south of us. We went to pull a sickly pup, and couldn't say no to her. When they brought her out she wrapped her head and neck around one of our volunteers neck and just hugged her not letting go! After all was done and we set her down outside to potty before we left is when we noticed her problem with back legs . I honestly thought the issue might be more than we could handle financially but.... Doc saw her the next am and said it was just a deformity she was born with that caused her no pain or issues otherwise!! As you can see in the video she has a cute little bunny hop shuffle. We believe she was kept in a cage the majority of her life and just neglected . Her foster mom is working on potty training her and says she just really wants someone to hold her and give her lots of love , Doc guessed her age around 8-9 so she has a lot of time to make up on what she was missing before coming into our care. Foster mom also reports ( which surprised me!) she LOVES LOVES LOVES to play fetch with tennis balls and brings them back EVERYTIME ! If interested please email for an application. He is up to date on shots, FeLV / FIV negative, and neutered. Leven was a stray in Waterloo, Iowa. He is now very sweet and playful, and is a typical playful kitten. His sister, Dusky, is a black kitten with a dab of white on her chest and she is just a little doll, too, but she's a bit smaller than him. 1/15/16 UPDATE: Leven is doing much better with his socialization. He's out and about and running and playing! He was quite feral when he came in so we are thrilled with his progress! He's also grown into a beautiful boy with gorgeous markings, too! 2/9/17 UPDATE: He is about 1-1/2-years old now. Leven's favorite thing is to be petted. He is quite friendly once he gets to know you. He does not like to be picked up or held so needs a home with no small children. He is still a little shy but warms up after he gets to know you. He will be a kitty you need to set up in a room alone after you first adopt him. That way he can get to know you. We love when the shy kitties get adopted to experienced cat people who understand some kitties just need TLC and time to settle into a new home. 2/20/18 UPDATE: Leven does well with other cats. Guess who would really LOVE a home for the holidays? This guy Jerry, that's who. Jerry had us fooled into thinking he was a bit wild. He has some gait or motor skills issues and we aren't sure if it is cerebellar hypoplaysia or an inner ear issue. He was busy hissing and swatting at us when we cleaned until suddenly one day we touched his nose. It was as if the button nose accessed a memory card and Jerry remembered you could get some good attention from humans. Now he wants to be petted and brushed and loved. Carrying him around seems to mess up his equilibrium and scares him. Jerry would love to have a home of his very own. Hi, my name is Fantasia and I'm almost 2 years old. I was rescued by a couple young girls that saw my owner throw me and my litter mates out of a trailer and take our mom inside so she couldn't take care of us. They said my other litter mates had either been run over by cars or died. When they brought me to Bond County Humane Society I was about 6 weeks old. I was wet, severely dehydrated, flea infested and my eyes were matted shut. They weren't sure I was going to survive. I had to be fed by syringe and get fluids at first and I slept a lot. After a couple weeks I was eating on my own and was more active. I am now healthy, playful and friendly in my normal environment. I like to play with a few of the other cats in my community room. I am very shy once I'm taken out of my normal environment. I am available for immediate adoption. I am spayed, UTD on vaccinations, tested for FeLV/FIV, treated for internal and external parasites and microchipped. My adoption fee is by donation.
