Filling out an application does not obligate you to adopt, but merely begins the process. SEPR DOES adopt out of state! Adoption fees: All SEPR adoptions are $300 for adults and $400 for puppies 1 year and under. This includes: adoption fee (spay/neuter, utd vaccinations, micro-chipping), microchip registration, Gentle Leader, and two tie downs for use in your home. SEPR requires all adopted dogs attend a training class with their adoptive family within 90 days of their adoption. If an adoptive family completes this training class, they will be refunded $100 of their adoption fee with proof of licensed certificate. SEPR even offers an obedience class called Train-A-Bull to alumni over 1 year of age on a seasonal basis. These classes are currently free! *All other pets in the residence must be spayed or neutered and all pets up to date on vaccinations. *SEPR requires all applicants must be 21 years of age. *SEPR dogs are adopted to be inside the home, “part of the family” dogs only. *Families with children 5 years of age and under wanting to adopt puppies will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Raising a puppy properly takes a lot of time, and we understand that in families with small children, time can be a limited commodity.

Born July 6, 2019 Vela is a gorgeous female German Shepherd mix who is ready for that person or family to call her own! Here is a little bit about her: for the last 6 months Vela has been in training to be the best dog she can be. She’s very high energy and would love nothing more than a playmate of similar size in her forever home – preferably male and one that would let her “lead” her way. Vela could also be happy as an only dog as long as it was an active home where she was part of the family. Vela has that typical shepherd aloofness when meeting someone new and tends to warm up quicker to women. Once Vela know you’re one of the good guys she bonds deeply to her person and listens well to commands. Vela is not a fan of small children and due to her high prey drive cannot be in a home with cats or small animals. Vela would be a wonderful running, hiking or outdoor buddy. She also is completely content chilling with her people on the sofa! Vela needs lots of physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep her centered and happy. She is protective of her yard and home and will alert strangers with a large warning bark but is otherwise fairly quiet at home. Vela has great leash manners and enjoys car rides because that means a new adventure ? Her forever home will require a secure 6 foot fence with adults and without cats or other small animals. Timon was found on the North Shore with her 2 siblings. She is a little torbie kitten and almost identical to her sister, Pumba. She is a very sweet and mellow kitten. Bat was born with unusable twisted back legs, so he scoots around using just his front legs. He is quite fast and has an amazing personality. He cannot urinate or defecate on his own, so we express his bladder three to four times a day and keep him on a regular feeding schedule to regulate his weight and keep his pooping time on a schedule. He is the sweetest little guy and loves belly rubs, snuggles, and kisses.

Hello!! My name is Kira. I was a shy girl but learned to enjoy greeting people who come into my room. I sometimes let people or my kitty roommates know when they need to give me space. I came to the shelter after my former owner passed away. I came in with some friends but I heard one of them got adopted. I am not sure what that means but, I heard some of the people who take care of us talking and I think they said it is where you get a new home. I would sure love to have a nice quiet home again. One where I can learn to trust someone like I did my former owner. I also heard someone say how pretty I am with my torti markings. Not sure what that means either but, I always knew I was beautiful. Say hello to Confetti! She is the life of the party, with stunning good looks and a sweet pittie personality to match!! Confetti is fully housebroken, and would love to live with a calm and respectful dog - she is especially fond of chihuahuas!! She absolutely adores people, and has been to several adoption events because she is such a social butterfly! Confetti has a neurological condition that throws off her balance but it affects no other part of her life. She eats, sleeps, and potties just like other dogs. She recently got a new set of wheels! Check out her video! Without them, she requires a bit of assistance while doing things that involve standing or walking. She has a special harness that she walks with when outside, and she eats out of a raised feeder (while her foster mom holds her steady). She needs a boost to get up on the couch, but if her foster mom isn't moving fast enough, Confetti will hoist herself up there! She is full of confidence and determination, a true testament to the amazing pittie spirit. Confetti has been going to physical therapy once or twice a week, where she receives laser therapy, walks in the water treadmill, and gets massages. All of these will help to slow the progression of her condition, and we would like her to continue these sessions after her adoption. She will also require a home that has very minimal stairs, and that will help add some safety measures to make Confetti's home more comfortable. All of these are to ensure her safety and care. Her time was up so Waverly Pet Rescue took her in. Selena is now up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed. She is living in a foster home. Selena is about 7-1/2 years old as of April 2024. When we first got her, she was very upset. She would hiss, growl, and full on try to attack you if you came near her. It has taken her many months to trust her foster mom. Selena is not feral or even semi-feral, she was traumatized from her past. One day I went to feed her and she didn't try to attack me, only hissed. Then a couple weeks later she stopped hissing and just swooshed her tail. Finally she came over and gave my hand a head-bump. It took a long time to earn her trust and I am sure it will be the same in a new home. She is now friendly with me and likes to be petted. She is not one to pick up or hold. She does not like other cats so far.. A home with no dogs and no children. Not even grandchildren that come and visit. . You must be a very understanding and experienced cat person to adopt Selena. Her next home must be a forever home! She has been let down by humans. Help her trust again and be the one that will keep her forever. 8/9/20 UPDATE: Selena has been in a foster home for over a year now. She now trusts her foster mom. Her favorite time of the day is when it is time to eat. Selena is a very curious cat and likes to explore everything and everywhere. Sometimes I am not sure where she is, so will look around and will find her in a spot up high. She also seems to do ok with other foster cats she has met briefly. She sniffs noses with them. If they do not hiss, she does not hiss. If they hiss, she hisses but then walks away. Selena is a great cat! She just needs a true cat lover that understands cats to adopt her. Someone willing to give her all the time she needs to settle in, even if that is months and months. She is worth the extra time and patience she needs to learn to trust you! 6/14/24 UPDATE: Selena is still very awesome. She is not a fan of being picked up or held, but after she gives your hand a good sniff over, she will allow you to pet her a little bit. Sadly she missed the prime time to be socialized and is very shy and afraid of certain movements This shyness is due to living in a parking lot with siblings after being born in the Summer and not being surrendered until the Fall of 2019. Courtesy ShyLow (Shiloh) came to us September of 2018 at 7 months old. So we made her birthdate on Valentine’s Day. She loves her humans and loves snuggles. She loves to jump up and give hugs. She likes to lick your hand as you walk with her. She is a free roamer and has not been leash trained. Although the few times she’s used one she does good. She is crate trained (sleep in crate all night) and house trained. For being almost 2 she is very energetic. She has not been around cats, livestock or small children so not sure how she will do with them. She gets along wonderfully with my 12 & 19 year old sons. She loves her dog brothers but is jealous of her dog sisters. She has become aggressive to the other two female dogs in the home. So she must be an only female or only dog.
