Duckie

Hi. My name is Duckie. I'm a cute young dalmatian cattledog mix girl about 3 yrs old who ended up in the East Valley LA City shelter in Van Nuys. Not a fun place! Luckily Dalmatian Rescue saw me and got me out of there before something bad happened. I am a happy girl now, living with a group of dogs so I can play pretty much non-stop. Perfect for a busy busy girl like me. I am being walked daily so I am learning my leash manners. I am shy with strangers but I warm up quickly once I know you are friendly. I am a nice smallish size, only 36 lbs. I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped so I am ready to go home anytime. Because I am so shy, i would be best in a home without young children but another dog or two would be great. A dog knowledgeable owner, preferably one familiar with high energy dogs like myself, would be preferred. I am still learning all of the rules but I know, in the right home with the right owner I would become just the most perfect pup ever. I would sure like that chance! If you are interested in meeting me, please contact Dalmatian Rescue of Southern California, Inc. by email at dalrescue@sbcglobal.net. Rescue requires completion of an adoption questionnaire to make sure I would be a good fit for you and your family, but once completed and approved, arrangements can be quickly made for you and your family to come meet me. I have not found my new home yet but I know it will be soon. Bruno

Bruno was adopted from our rescue in 2020. He was found recently by animal control, abandoned and scared. He quickly opened up with his foster family after he realized he is safe. He does seem to have some separation anxiety, but is learning to trust that his people are coming home each night. He is very treat motivated and learns best when rewarded. He plays well with other non-aggressive dog. Bruno is leash-, crate- and house-trained. He is fully vetted, neutered, microchipped and tested heartworm positive. He has been started on the slow kill method of treatment without issues. Please visit Regard4Life Animal Rescue at Petsmart in Longview on Saturdays for more information. Mighty

Are you looking to have your dog skills and experience challenged? Do you have the patience of a saint? Then Mighty is ready to test you. Seriously, he’s an 8.6 magnitude earthquake in a city without building codes. He is a rainstorm on a herd of Gremlins, after midnight… with a plate of food. For example: 1. Speaking of rainstorms – he hates them. As well as fireworks. Just about any loud, new, or odd noise scares him. He is even afraid of his farts. 2. He has the leash manners like some of those shoppers on Black Friday. You know, where the store is giving away an item to the first 200 guests. He just gets so excited sometimes he feels the need to jump up and grab the leash and walk himself. 3. Mighty has an allergy or several. No chicken for sure and probably no other poultry. Grains make him itchy, and sometimes he gets pink. 4. He’s one of those “blocky headed” dogs… pit balls, pot bois, pibbles, poblanos, whatever. 5. He’s nervous with new people, and he warms up to women quicker than men. Do you know that site with all the dogs who love the UPS guy? Mighty will not likely be making an appearance on that site. Here are some things we also know about Mighty. He completely loves his people. Once you’re in, you’re in for life. He likes to make new people friends, too, and that takes some time and treats… and those are treats without caramel color, because you know, the allergies. He loves attention, training, and showing his set of learned skills. He likes drinking from the hose, being outside with his people, and helping with yard work. If you have sticks, he’ll chew them. If you’re pulling weeds, he’ll shake them and spit them out…mostly. We’ve loved this guy from the moment we saw him tied to a tree with a note stating, “My name is Mighty, …just tell me it’s OK Needs a good home and lots of love” We’ve come a long way from where he wouldn’t go near the car, wouldn’t go up or down the stairs, and only went outside to do his business. He now, cannot wait for the next car ride and uses the stairs like Rocky. (Except for the basement stairs, they’re still scary.) We’re not going to lie though; his forever home is one in a million. His new home will require experience, management, smarts, time and dedication. As they say, nothing worthwhile comes easy and nothing that comes easy is worthwhile. Mighty is a sweet, playful, loving dog, and is very loyal in his devotion to his people. He has quite a few quirks, but hey, who doesn’t? He has a long life ahead of him, and deserves an active, loving home that will always tell him, it’s OK.

Ernie

Hi there, I'm Ernie! I was found by the side of the road one day with my brother, Burt. We were just puppies then. The kind strangers that found us loaded us up in the car and took us straight to ARFhouse. I am a sweet young Lab mix; approximately 3 years old and I weigh 68 Lbs. I've been at the sanctuary for far too long; I guess no one wants a black dog. That's okay because I spend my day with my best friend, running and playing in our large, fenced yard. I get along great with other dogs, I am a very friendly and affectionate guy, and I love the water! I've spent most of my life here at the sanctuary, so it might take me a little longer than most to adjust to a new home, but I promise I will do my best and make the most wonderful companion. Because of my size and energy level, I would not be suitable for an apartment; I will need a home with a fenced yard so that I can run and play as I please (maybe even romp around in a kiddie pool if you'll let me!). The fee to adopt Ernie is $200.00; this includes neuter, deworming, vaccinations and a microchip. If you think Ernie would make a good addition to your family, please visit our website, www.arfhouse.org and fill out an adoption application. **Please Note: Ernie is currently located at our facility in Sherman, TX. Adoptions are BY-APPOINTMENT ONLY. If you are interested in meeting Ernie, please fill out an adoption application on our website; if approved, we will contact you within 48 hours to set up a time to meet Ernie.

Professor X

Professor X is Sponsored by: Morgan Strom SNAP Cats rescued Professor X from Solano County, CA. Professor X is a big lovebug! He scoots around just fine on his rear legs, and can walk on them if he wants to. He just doesn't want to 'cause he can move much faster if he scoots across the floor. Professor can be a bit messy sometimes (missing the litter box) but if you give him a really big box or two he'll probably hit it almost all of the time. Still, you need to be aware that he can be a bit messy.

Marley Mae

Hi, I'm Marley Mae - I've been a Streetdog since I was a little puppy back in 2013 when I wandered up onto a random porch. I was born around Jan 1, 2013. I'm a sweet girl, but I also like my personal space and would do well in a home where I am the only pet. I have some arthritis that sometimes acts up on me and gives me an excuse to take extra naps 😉 I'm an Australian Shepherd-Cattle Dog mix, full of so much love and companionship left to give. I love to meet new people; I have a favorite pillow and love soft plushy toys I can chew on. I like to spend time outside in the sunshine too. I've been spending some time in boarding, and I'm ready to find a home to do some serious couch surfing for sure! I'd love to meet all of you soon! Check out #sdfMarleyMae or streetdogfoundation.com/pup-profiles/marleymae for more!
