Meet Rocky! This handsome, fluffy fella found himself in-need of a new forever family when his previous placement ended up in a drastic living-situation change. All of this was completely out of Rocky's controlbut was at risk of being dropped off at the shelter. So one of our amazing foster families volunteered to house Rocky (showering him with so much love and care!) ) until a new forever family of his own can be found.
Rocky (male) was born on 7/24/21, so next month will be 3 years old. He weighs in at approximately 75lbs, so is a pretty good-sized boy! He is the softest/silkiest Great Pyrenees [maybe mix?? ], with the sweetest, most lovable + happy-go-lucky, beautiful face. Rocky has never met a stranger; he loves everyone and everything! He does very well with other doggie friends (keeping in mind his large size), and loves to play with them. He has been around plenty of cats in his lifetime; his foster family has a cat who he's very gentle and cordial with. Therefore he is most definitely kitty-friendly! Rocky also adores children. He loves to give (& receive! ) kisses, follow them around, and be involved in whatever they may be doing. He would especially love a forever family with kiddos of his very own to love on + explore with! **OF NOTE: Rocky will require a bit of an adjustment period as he transitions into a new home. He has displayed the tendency to hump (children + other dogs) in his foster home, so the adults in the home will need to be diligent in providing correction/redirection when he exhibits this behavior. So far, a simple squirt bottle [filled with water] has proven effective to interrupt/prevent any humping. We are also hopeful that this will drastically improve once Rocky is neutered. He is scheduled for his neuter on Tuesday, July 16th! As for housebreaking, Rocky is 100% potty-trained! He is also crate-trained and kennels-up without issue. His foster family did crate him the first evening, but in the subsequent days let him have free roam of the house. He settles in well, is not destructive, and wouldn't necessarily need to be kenneled (unless his family prefers it, of course ). His favorite place to sleep is on a dog bed in his humans' bedroombut also thoroughly enjoys a good snuggle session! He is all about belly rubs, playtime, going for walks (which he does great on!), and is such a smart boy. He has adapted so well to all of the recent change happening in his life, and we are confident he'll acclimate to his new forever home just the same. He can't wait to score his most perfect family!
