Luna is a calm, friendly female that was found stray in Southern California. She went thru the shelter system and is now ready for a forever home! Luna is estimated to be 5 years old by shelter, has been spayed, and is up to date on vaccines. She is new to us, but so far, the vet said she was calm and easy go handle, she rides well in a car, did well testing with other neutral dogs, is easy to pet and handle. She had significant hair loss and healing scabs on ear(s), but is really starting to fill in and heal! We think Luna may have been a dog who, in her previous life, was only outdoors. Luna is a dream on a leash walk...easy and doesnt pull. She likes regular access to outdoors for potty, and she has had no trouble figuring out how comfy the couch is! She would do best with other dogs to take cues from since she is shy and many things are new to her. She also needs a yard (doesn't need to be big) with dog door or ready access. Who is ready for an easy, sweet girl? She is about 40 pounds. She has already had entropion eyelid surgery done! oh, and she LOVES men. She is fostering in near Long Beach.

Mekah is a beautiful 5 year old girl that found herself surrendered to a shelter in PA due to one of her owners no longer being able to care for her because of health related reasons. She is dog friendly, but unfortunately cannot be around cats. She would do best in a home with older respectful kids. Mekah is super sweet and cuddly, but has her fun side and can also be a very playful girl. She does have some issues with food…during the test she did not exhibit any aggression towards the hand, however when the hand was placed in the bowl she rushed to finish the food, so a slow feeder or something of that sort would likely be best for her.

Meet Tiana! She is a sweet, fluffy Terrier, weighing between 10-11 pounds, and is about 8 years old. She loves waking up in the morning, going outside for a few minutes, getting a little booty scratch, and then trotting back in for her breakfast. Once breakfast is done, she is ready for her morning walk, but is also fine taking a little nap if you have some chores to do. The rest of the day, she is happy to snooze away near you while you are working from home, but she does need some short walks throughout the day to take care of business, stretch her legs and smell the grass and breeze. Occasionally, she will wander off to find a patch of sun for more napping. Tiana may need a little time to warm up to people, but once she does, she won't leave your side, except for that patch of sun. She is motivated by treats, loves her walks and is great on a leash. Tiana also enjoys going in the car, in or out of a crate (she loads in the crate perfectly). She has also slept in a crate a few times and does fine, but generally prefers to be closer to you. If you are outside talking to neighbors or contractors and have left her behind in the house, she may bark a little, but she generally isn't very vocal. We are not sure how she is around kids or cats, but she is good with well-mannered dogs and proper introductions. Potty training is in progress, but once you both get used to each other and establish a routine, you will know when she needs a quick break outside. Tiana is a good-natured little dog, who loves her naps, treats, walks and people, and will make a great companion for someone who is home a lot or works from home. Chronic diarrheaGato loves attention and people! He came to us in October 2023. He had been having ongoing diarrhea according to his surrenderer for several years, which they never sought veterinary care for him. He has had several treatments, diet changes and tried different meds and he has improved but will need ongoing care and support for this issue. He is now at a healthy weight and the next step for him is to find a loving and supportive home. He uses his litter box faithfully but may need a little assistance with hygiene tasks. Josie is an approximate 5-year-old, female, possible Cattle Dog mix. She weighs 45 lbs. and is medium sized. Josie found herself being surrendered by her owner here in Iowa along with several other dogs in their care. She had fleas covering her body and has suffered some hair loss due to having fleas for so long. We quickly treated her and she is on the mend with good nutrition and preventatives. Josie is a sweetheart and is all about people! She loves spending time with people and is very friendly. She is calm and gentle for the most part but does like to jump up on you when she is excited. She has been responding well to the training in her foster home to keep her feet on the floor. Josie has been with a 6-year-old and 9-year-old kids and has done very well. She loves to snuggle with kids and be petted. Josie does well with other dogs but can get a bit jealous if she has to share her attention with her people. She has been a bit dominant with another smaller dog in her foster home when competing for a lap but she has not resorted to fighting. She would do well with another dog but will also make a good single pet. She has not had any experience with cats in her foster home so we aren't sure how she would do. Josie does pretty well on a leash but would love a fenced in yard to romp around in and have freedom to run. Ginger is a sweet girl who was born in early April and weighs about 10 lbs. at about 13 weeks. She likely has some Pitbull Terrier in her genetics. She came in as an owner surrender from an older couple that was overwhelmed by her puppy energy. She is a happy girl, who loves to give kisses, and enjoys playing with her bigger canine foster siblings. She enjoys playing fetch and will bring the ball back to you. This sweet girl has some spice too and isn't afraid to wrestle and play and show everyone how tough she is. She has done very well in her kennel and is sleeping through the night. She has done well so far with potty training but will need continued support. She loves to be outside, and enjoys exploring everything and everywhere. She is very smart, and is working on walking on a leash, sit, come, and drop. Because she is a puppy, she has very sharp teeth, and will need consistent redirection when biting or chewing things that aren't appropriate, but she is very gentle when taking treats from her humans. She will likely do well with cats and kids that can handle her energy and normal puppy nipping and jumping.
