Hi, I'm Bart. I was named Bartleby back in 2010 when I arrived at SBACC at just six weeks old. I was adopted but sadly returned because somewhere along the way, I developed the habit of not using the litterbox consistently. I've been checked out and there aren't any medical reasons for my behavior, it seems to have become a habit. I am a mellow, friendly boy, I enjoy attention and pets and I love to "make bread". I'm hoping there's someone who has the right setup or a way to try and work with my behavior because I love people and would really like to have a home again. This gorgeous tortoiseshell cat is Turtle. She came to the shelter due to her owner's health issues along with her sister Callie. They are both fully vetted and spayed. While they are adjusting to life in the shelter, both are sweet and curious cats. Turtle absolutely LOVES to play with a laser pointer. You can have her running around in circles and bouncing off the walls just with one little red dot. Another thing she loves is CATNIP! There is no such thing as a dull moment when you are around Turtle and Callie. They are the comedians in the house and are always putting on a show for our volunteers. The surefire way to make Turtle slow down is to turn on the tap: she LOVES drinking from it! (treats also get her attention) Turtle and her sister, Callie, must be adopted together as they have never been separated. Must be approved before adoption. They are absolutely hilarious to watch and we promise you you'll never have a dull moment again if you adopt them. Callie loves exploring new spaces, begging for treats, and chasing down toys. If you throw a spring toy down the hallway, she'll run as fast as she can to catch it and when she, inevitably, lands face first up against the wall because she was going too fast, she just shakes it off and keeps going! SENIOR DOG: Excellent dog, strong personality and character. Hey, everyone! My name is Buda - short for Boudica - and I've been at TIRR Rescue since 2013. When I was young, a nice man saved me from the shelter and brought me to TIRR Rescue in the hopes they could find me a great forever home. I haven't found one yet, but I'm still hopeful! I'm good with other big dogs and like to wrestle, especially with my pal Poncho. I absolutely love my people and am always excited to see them. I can be pretty active, but I also enjoy just laying around in my dog house - or under it - keeping cool. I would make a great jogging or walking buddy; it would help me burn off some of my excess energy. I really like to dig, as you can see in one of the pictures above, so it would be really nice if I could have a yard with a dedicated digging space for me! I'd love to meet some new people, so you should definitely come see me. If you think you could be next forever home, be sure to talk to my rescue people! ~~~~ PERSONALITY: Buda is a sweet girl. She loves to play and wrestle but also loves to lay around and chill, preferably with a soft, stuffed toy. While she does well with most dogs, she sometimes gets annoyed with little dogs and is best not left unsupervised with them. She loves her people and is always excited to see them. She would make a good walking partner, but she will also need a dedicated digging area so she can pass time doing one of her favorite activities without ruining the yard. "CC" - short for critical care - is a very tough, lucky young lady!! She was one of a litter of two found abandoned in a box on the side of the road Labor Day weekend on Sat, by the time she got to us on Tuesday.....her sibling had already passed away. She was in very rough shape and without her indomitable will to live.....would not have survived. The first week to 10 days were very difficult and she received round the clock 'critical care' during that time and as you can see.....is doing very well now!! Such a fortunate young , vivacious young lady! Estimated date of birth 8/4/18 This little dynamo has not looked back on her rough start in life but energetically enjoys her new lease on life........very personable and talkative, high energy!
