Atlantic City

Hi! My name is Atlantic City. I was rescued from a condemned house in October, 2018 along with several other cats. We were all malnourished, full of fleas and lice, and had been neglected. Thanks to the wonderful care we’ve received at the shelter, we’re feeling much better and getting healthier every day. We’ve learned to love and trust people, and we even meow and purr to greet the staff when they come to the door (especially when it’s mealtime!). Once sad and lost, we are now happy and full of life! I was about 8 years old when I came to the shelter, and I will go to my furever home neutered, dewormed, leukemia tested, and with my shots and flea prevention up to date. Please call or come by to meet me! If you are interested in adopting Atlantic City call to make sure this cat is still available and is ready for adoption. Come visit to let our cats get to know you. -------- For more information please call 740-353-5100. All cats are to be spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and dewormed before the adoption process is completed. Microchip fee only $15. Birth dates and ages are approximate. For more information or to see more pets that are available for adoption visit our website at www.sierrashaven.org.

King and Nina

Nina is an active 2yo 45lb border collie/german shepherd mix. She has a lot of personality and can be a total derp (tongue hanging out sideways and everything)! She's housebroken and crate trained, and walks amazing on the leash! She loves other dogs and is good with indoor cats. She is pretty high energy and enjoys going on hikes and playing with her canine siblings. She MUST go to a home where there is a resident confident adult medium-large dog (she worships the male german shepherd in her foster home but is best friends with a female Doberman the same age.. she's fine with small dogs but she's a bit too rambunctious for them). She has also discovered the comforts of the couch and loves to lay along the top and get petted while you watch movies. Because she can still be skittish with people though, she should NOT go to a home with children or apartment living (no exceptions!). She would do best in a gentle, quiet adult only home with another dog and a house with fenced yard. She has gained a lot of skills and confidence while in her foster home, but she is ready for the next chapter in her life with a new family that will continue to help her grow. Here is Nina's story video: https://youtu.be/KxWGwurZVWk King is Nina's companion/emotional support dog. He's a 7-8yo purebred 75lb German Shepherd. Nina WORSHIPS him and is his shadow, follows him everywhere, and they even crate together. King is a mellow boy who prefers lounging in the house or on the couch. He would do best in a cat-free home. They are not for first time dog owner, but when together they're pretty easy. All they need is a couch and a yard. Adoption fee for the two together will be $550. Nina can also be adopted by herself without King, however, we are requiring she go to a home that has another resident dog, and that she goes with a pal pup (either King or another known friend) for the first week during the transition phase, so that she doesn't panic in a new home. Greyson

Max is a regal, strong solid silver boy, who was rescued from a local business where starvation and large predators threatened his life. Cats at this location were disappearing at an alarming rate at the time Grey was rescued. Max is a very shy and reserved type of cat, except around other cats! He does wonderfully with other cats, and they seem to enjoy his company. He shows no preference with other cats, anyone that will cuddle with him, allow themselves to be groomed, and allow occasional romps will be a great feline friend for him. Forgotten Angels is an all volunteer, foster home based shelter with no central facility. Due to COVID-19 we are unable to invite adopters into our homes to meet our cats. We are currently able to do Virtual Adoptions and Foster to Adopt placements. Please submit our Adoption Questionnaire, found on our home page, or at www.forgottenangelsshelter.org. to begin either of these options if you are interested in adopting. Questions can be submitted here. Please note: We will contact you within 7 days of receipt of your Questionnaire if you are found to be a compatible match with any of the cats currently in our care.

Della is young and youthful. Be prepared to give her lots of exercise and play time. She is definitely a mixed breed. I wish we could do DNA's on all of our dogs. Wouldn't that be fun? If you are an active family, Della would like to move in! If you are an only dog family and have a nice big fenced yard and live in a house Della would love to be part of your life. She especially would like to sit on the porch with you.

Please consider sponoring a cat for a little as $10 a month you can help us help more animals in need.Fair was found dumped at the Pensacola Fair Grounds in a bag. She has spent time in foster care, and her foster family said she has turned out to be an awesome kitty who would be purrfect for her own family. While she really isn't fond of laying in your lap, she does love to spend time and be close to her family. She is quiet and friendly and would do well in a quiet home without young children. McCovey

McCovey is a handsome orange tabby with a motorboat purr who was born in September 2018. He has a sweet but vague disposition. McCovey has severe developmental delays; he has difficulty figuring things out and his long term memory is very poor. He will need a kind, understanding family able to accept him for who he is and willing to accommodate his needs. McCovey is a good eater who's favorite flavors are chicken and tuna. He loves treats and will even eat them out of your hand! He enjoys the company of other cats, and we would like him to have buddies in his forever home. He likes to spend most of his time sitting in his cat tree. McCovey loves pets, cuddles and brushing, as long as they're on his terms. McCovey gets lost easily, and is often anxious because everything seems new to him all the time. He can't remember or recognize people or other cats. McCovey has a special room because he doesn't understand doorways - if he goes through one, he forgets what they are and can't find his way back. As long as he's in his own special room, he has good self-care skills, but he can become aggressive when anxious and agitated. McCovey has made some very modest progress, but he has probably reached the ceiling of his abilities and is unlikely to improve any more. McCovey is a very unique cat, the only one to have this disability in our experience, as well as the experience of his vets and neurologist. Given his high level of needs, we're looking for a very patient, understanding and cat-experienced family that is willing and able to meet him where he is. In a perfect world, his forever family will have a passion for helping special needs cats, and already have a room or catio set up that can accommodate him plus some buddies for him to share it with. Due to his special needs, McCovey will be transitioning to his new home in a foster-to-adopt situation. He is FIV/FeLv negative, microchipped, neutered and current on his vaccines. Could you be the guardian angel he's been waiting for?

Brody & Peyton. Bonded Pair!

Meet Peyton & Brody! Estimated Birthdays: 2/7/2016 - Brody 9/8/2016 - Peyton These two babies will melt your heart! Peyton (black and white) can be a little shy around new people but once she gets to know you you will have a cuddle machine in your life! Brody (tabby) is more outgoing and will greet you at the door. He was with DARE when we got Peyton as a young kitten and I think he stepped up to always keep her safe and protect her. Peyton comes even more to life when her best friend is around. They lay together and groom each other and then they'll get up and play as well! Like I said Brody is a safe place for Peyton and we think it would be best for both of them to be adopted together. I mean, how could we break up a bond like that?! If you would like to see more pictures and videos of Peyton or Brody they both have individual profiles as well. To inquire about adopting from DARE Animal Rescue, please see our foster/adoption process on our website at dareanimalrescue.com. Cletus

Hey there, I’m Cletus! One of the most handsome hounds at Mackenzie’s! In addition to my good looks, you may have heard about my absolutely legendary cuddles - I'm one of the best snuggle bugs MAS has to offer. Sometimes I can be shy with new people, but anyone will tell you, my love is worth the wait!....and it doesn't take long at all, I promise! I am not as young as I used to be, and as they say, with age comes wisdom....and arthritis...so a quiet and laid-back home would be best for me. I’d prefer to be the only pet in the home since I can be pretty picky about my four-legged friends. Once I’m comfortable with my new environment and after I’ve built up trust & confidence with my new family and home, I would be up for more mellow kinds of adventures. I'm a perfect gentleman on car rides, so taking me out an about would be a fun time for me! I’m happy to lounge around on the couch, but I’d also be interested in checking out hiking trails and tapping into my hound senses. But for now, mellow walks, snuggles, and movie nights are some of the things I like best. To experience the ultimate cuddles for yourself, fill out an application and be sure to mention me! DOB: 1/1/2014 For safety's sake, we are looking for homes with physically fenced in areas. Please fill out our online adoption survey at www.mackenzies.info/adopt/adoption-survey-application/

Bonnie

Bonnie came from a high-kill shelter in Texas. She was a little timid, and understandably so. She was petrified at the shelter, then, bounced around on a two-day transport from TX-NY with lots of other dogs. But she adjusted to her new foster home so quickly, and bonded with the foster mom's young grandchildren, and her two sweet pits, who play with Bonnie in the yard. Her wonderful foster mom, knows how much Bonnie loves to run, so she takes her to a park, to run and play. She is excellent off-leash, coming back when she is called. She is also a real love bug and loves to snuggle. Bonnie is about a year and three months old, weighs about 27 lbs, has all her shots, is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and is on flea & tick/HW prevention. She is about as perfect as one dog can be. If you are interested in Bonnie, please call Sindee. 914-299-3700.

Blueberry and Chickpea

Blueberry and Chickpea were from a surprise litter born the day after his mom moved to our foster program. After the babies were old enough to be spayed and neutered, sisters Blueberry and Chickpea decided they wanted to stay together. Both girls are large (about 8 lbs). They love tunnels, boxes, and snuggle time together. Introducing two rabbits can be be a difficult process. We recommend that adopters interested in having two rabbits adopt a pair that is already bonded. Blueberry and Chickpea reside in a foster home and attend monthly adoption events. Come meet adoptable rabbits at the next second Saturday adoption event. Adoption Events: The second Saturday of each month we rotate between the following Petcos from 10:00 am and 3:00 pm, except the month of August which is held in Fair Oaks. Locations: 1) Fair Oaks Petco, 8840 Madison Ave., (916) 863-7387 *Odd numbered months (January, March, May, July, *August, September, November) 2) Arden Way, 1878 Arden Way, (916) 923-1082 *Even numbered months (February, April, June, October, December) RHDV-2 Safety Protocols: As a safety precaution for people bringing rabbits for nail trims or to find a friend for their rabbit, guests will need to pre-register rabbits to confirm they have received the RHDV-2 vaccination. You only need to pre-register once while the vaccination certificate is valid. Donations of $10 for nail trims are appreciated! To pre-register, send an email to NailTrimPre-Reg@allearssac.org. Your email needs to include: • Your name • Your rabbit’s name • A legible image of your rabbit’s vaccination certificate • A picture of your rabbit ? We do not have a shelter to introduce our foster rabbits and our volunteers have limited time to respond to all online inquiries, so the best way to meet one of our rabbits is to attend our next adoption day. Sometimes people bond to a different rabbit in person than the one they choose online. All rabbits have their own individual personalities, so our goal is to find the best match suited for your environment and lifestyle. Our adoption fee is $75 and all of our rabbits are spayed/neutered and vaccinated for Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV). Please provide answers to the following questions to hep us determine if one of our rabbits will be a good match for you and your family. We will review your questionnaire and contact you to set up an appointment for a phone or video call. *Please only complete if you are over the age of 18 and living within the Sacramento area. 1) What has you interested in adopting a rabbit at this time? 2) Please describe your experience with rabbits or expectations of having a rabbit if this will be your first. 3) What type of personality or behaviors are you looking for in a rabbit? 4) Please describe the type of spaces you plan to keep your rabbit when unsupervised (when you are away at work or asleep) and during social playtime if there will be a separate or expanded area to exercise. 5) Do you plan to allow your rabbit outdoors or will your rabbit remain indoors 100% of the day and night? 6) How would you describe your lifestyle? (Busy, active, quiet, etc.) 7) How much time do you spend at home and how much social and exercise time will your rabbit have every day? 8) How many people share your home and who will be the primary caregiver? 9) If there are children, what are the ages of each child? 10) If there are other pets, please list what other animals live in the same home (If there are dogs, please list the breeds). 11) Contact information: Address, phone number, email and the best time to contact you. Due to the emergence of Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease Virus (RHDV) beginning in 2020, we strongly recommend no outdoor playtime, even when vaccinated. You can find more information about this virus at: https://rabbit.org/rhdv/ You will need to get your home ready before bringing a bunny home. Read more about living with rabbits at allearssac.org or rabbit.org, or buy the House Rabbit Handbook. Bunny-proof your home and protect electrical cords. Decide what to buy in terms of enclosure, exercise pen, or other housing, plus food, litter boxes, toys and other care items. Locate an exotic veterinarian who sees rabbits in your area. *If you are still researching rabbits as companion animals and need more information, please check out the HRS video about living with house rabbits on YouTube with comedian, actress, and House Rabbit Society supporter, Amy Sedaris: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ev-5T3xEe9k

IZZY

Izzy is about 8 yrs old. He tolerates other dogs, but would rather be the on receiving all the attention. He would do better with older kids or kids that know how to respect a dog. We have been told he gets along with cats, but there are no cats in the foster home to test him. He loves to sleep with you. He will actually warm up the bed for you by doing the Eskie dance to make sure the blankets and sheets are all nice and fluff for you. He loves to throw the pillows off the couch and onto the floor. Annie

Hi, I’m Annie! I’m a fun loving calico with a sassy side. You can pet me, but only when I’m ready and I’ll let you know when I’ve had enough. I like to climb on my cat tree and explore here at the shelter, but it would be more fun if I had a whole house to play in. I like to check out other cats, but it takes me a little bit of time to feel safe with them. I would love to have a family who is used to a little bit of “cattitude.” I almost forgot—the nice people at the shelter said I can’t have any fish in my food, or else all my hair falls out! I want to stay my beautiful self, so I’m on a “limited ingredient diet” with no grains or fish. Come meet me and see if we’re a good match! Due to Covid, the shelter has an appointment only policy. We ask potential adopters to fill out our application, prior to a scheduled meeting. The staff is very accommodating, and we welcome any inquires. Willow - Very Special Girl!

Meet Willow! 8 years old, Spayed Female, Australian Cattle Dog/Great Pyrenees mix, 70 lbs **NOTE: Potential adopters must live locally to the Cleveland, TN area; please read complete bio Willow is a special girl. A very special girl, that need a very special person to adopt her. Her preference is a woman-led home although she can warm up to men with time. She loves air conditioning, and comfy beds. She would like to be able to be an inside/outside dog, as she enjoys doing both and knows how to use a dog door. YOU MUST HAVE A FENCED IN YARD! Willow cannot be placed in a home with other dogs or cats, as she can be very protective around her personal space and food. A securely fenced in yard is a must, but 4-foot fencing is just fine. She knows basic commands, crate trained, and house trained. She likes short walks in familiar quiet parks, but doesn't want to meet new people or dogs, thank you. Willow was diagnosed with an under-active thyroid this spring, that had led to hair loss and skin irritation. She is on inexpensive daily thyroid pills and needs medicated baths regularly to keep her from itching. If you can commit to giving her the loving home she deserves, she promises to love you forever. It will take several meetings to adjust to new people, so potential adopters need to live in the Cleveland/Chattanooga area. Her adoption fee has been reduced to $75. Thank you! NOTES: Our adoption fees include spay/neuter, microchip, set of three (3) DHPP vaccines (puppies under 4 months only), bordatella (kennel cough) vaccine, rabies vaccine (over 3 months old), heartworm test (6 months or older), deworming, and up to date flea/tick/heartworm prevention. This dog/puppy is in foster care in Cleveland, TN. Our standard adoption fee is $150 unless otherwise noted, which includes all vetting. Application, vet references, personal references, and home visits may be required prior to adoption. Please email us at pawsofvalor.ar@gmail.com to ask questions or ask for an adoption application.
