Shirley

Have you ever wanted a pet that loves you and your family and no one else? That will adore you and their pack, but outsiders are viewed with caution? Well, meet Shirley. Shirley is a semi-feral pup. She was born apx May 2018. Shirley was trapped with her siblings by animal control. It will take patience and trust to seek human company. Shirley is ok with most other dogs and is fine with cats, actually a bit scared of some of them. She loves our office kitty Dean and he loves her. She loves her toys; she will run around with them and do zoomies. She will bond with her family and be a devoted family member. All it takes is time and patience. Shirley is available for foster to adopt. This will allow Street Paws to provide all the help and support their new family needs to begin their lives together. Ferals make excellent pets with just a little time. They usually are very laid-back and easy dogs once you gain their trust. A home with a fenced-in yard or kennel for potty time is strongly encouraged. She is not an ideal dog for children. Contact us if you are interested in becoming a member of our growing Street Paws pack! She currently lives at our office. She has a doggie door that she uses to get into her outdoor house. She zoomies when she sees her caretaker arrive. Loves treat time! She likes to sneak the cat food bowls and take them to her bed. She did great with her recent vet checkup. https://youtu.be/E8A4Ed-xgUg Shirley's adoption is limited to Metro Atlanta due to her needs and to allow us to assist in her transition, certain circumstances may allow exceptions. To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at https://streetpaws.org/adopting/dog-puppy-pre-adoption-application/. This application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Our adoption fee is $250. They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary, dewormed, have received flea prevention, and are micro-chipped. We will ensure the microchip is registered. If more information is needed regarding the pet email info@streetpaws.org. You must complete the pre-application to obtain approval to meet the pet.

Bridget

I am a very active girl who is the first in line to playtime and treat time! I am still getting used to being pet - I like to gain lots of trust first, but then enjoy head scratches. When in the right mood, I can be quite a cuddler. I have made amazing strides so far, I used to never let people touch me! Being familiar with the same faces each day helps me feel comfortable and will thrive when I am in a forever home! While you are here, grab a laser or a toy and let's be friends! I love to chase things and this is the best way for me to get comfortable with you. Avoid trying to pick me up, but any other interaction will help me get comfortable and will allow me to show my affectionate side! I absolutely love kittens! Weighing in at a solid 60 pounds, Clara is part of our prestigious Canine Good Citizen Program and our Superdog Program. This lovely lady has been making incredible strides since coming into our care, and she's ready to find her forever home. Clara's journey has been one of resilience and transformation. She loves sharing kisses, getting belly rubs, and soaking up all the love she can get. Clara currently resides in boarding but enjoys weekend getaways with her foster, where she gets to experience the comforts of home and the joy of companionship. She's been making great progress with positive crate training and is becoming more comfortable with each passing day. This lovely lady does best with proper introductions to other dogs and has been fantastic with several males at her boarding facility. She has a great working drive and thrives with positive reinforcement. Clara needs a patient and loving home willing to work with her until she feels fully comfortable. Clara has a bit of separation anxiety, but once she's settled in, she's absolutely fine. She's a good girl who deserves a family that will continue to help her grow and feel secure. Her transformation from a fearful stray to a loving companion has been remarkable, and she's ready to share her journey with a family who will treasure her. Clara is looking for either a foster or an adopter to give her the loving home she's been waiting for since 11-21-2020. Flynn DelleBovi

Thank You DelleBovi Family! Flynn was born about October 4, 2014 and weighs about 22 lbs. He is as cute as they come and was released from his puppy making days in a puppy mill in West Virginia. The 'millers' made a call to the humane society and said they no longer needed the services of 29 dogs and would they take them. The shelter is a kill shelter due to space and could not handle so many dogs and so they asked if we would take them. How could we not! So, we squeezed and adjusted and were able to take them all. Sadly, Flynn has failed two adoptions as after a decent length of time they still could not touch him nor would he stay in the same room as them. He is wonderful with the other dogs here and is now considered a Joyful Rescues Sanctuary pet. He can seldom be touched and if he is it is not for long and when we must 'catch' him to be groomed we must use a towel to protect our hands because he will bite. He does happily live inside the house with the humans who live and work here as long as they are not forcing themselves on him, which we do not unless absolutely necessary such as hair trimming. It is felt Flynn is living his best life right where he is and is a very happy boy. From Dr. Rasnake: There is mild pegmentary keratitis which is likely from hair rubbing on the surface of the eye. This condition may be the result of improper hygiene/grooming. His future family will need to be diligent to keep hair cut short around his eyes so this does not worsen. He still can see, but there is some cloudiness. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. Can't Adopt Me? Pepper Barker

Thank You Barker Family!Pepper was born about May 15, 2015 and weighs about 50 lbs. She is a Joyful Rescues sanctuary pet because she arrived from the southern high kill shelter extremely fearful of humans, but she is wonderful with all the other dogs here. Pepper never found a home because she has a very fast bite response to any human that moves too fast around her or in any situation where she feels uncertain what the human may do - even to reach out and pet her. Every one here understands this and new humans in the house are told ahead of entering not to reach out to Pepper. With this understanding of her behavior she has been living here and will continue to live here happily. She enjoys the activity and the acreage playing with the other dogs and is welcome to stay as long as she lives. WEBSTER

BACKGROUND: Webster is a beautiful boy who came into rescue with some emotional baggage. He had a bad attitude and didn't seem to like anyone. We've been working with him and Webster has made huge improvements. He will need a home with someone who understands him and is the "pack leader." As you can see, Webster can be a very gentle dog .... well until he sees bubbles! He loves to play ball, and that is a good icebreaker for him when he meets new people. ADOPTION INFO: Webster's adoption fee is $395.00, which includes a physical exam, vaccinations, neuter, heartworm test, deworming and any other care received while in rescue. If you would like to adopt Webster, please complete an application on our website at: www.HoustonBostonRescue.org FACEBOOK: Be sure to follow our current events and new incoming rescues on our Facebook page at: Facebook,com/BostonTerrierRescue VIRTUAL FOSTERING: If you are unable to foster in person, but would still like to help, you can become a virtual foster! Jackson

Jackson is a handsome 7-year-old boy and weighs 80-ish lbs. Because he is a larger love bug who doesn't know his size, he would do best in a home with teenage children. Although Jackson is deaf, he is VERY trainable and has responded well to learning hand signals with his foster mom. He has laser focus whenever his toys or treats are involved. He is very snuggly-and likes to think he's a lap dog, despite his size! Jackson is potty trained, neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies. We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered. We do not have a shelter, and are a foster-home based organization. Other than meeting our babies at events, we do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt.

Carolina

DOB: mid 2015 Carolina has grown into the most gorgeous cat, and she keeps her fur in order herself. She can display a little attitude with some other cats, but we’ve found that some space of her own, part of the time, goes a long way toward reducing that. In fact, a home where she was the only would be perfect! Carolina has a bladder condition and will require a prescription diet probably for life. https://www.petadoptionnetwork.org/adoption-application

Moira

Introducing Moira, a charming bunny eagerly awaiting adoption. This petite sweetheart lives harmoniously with her brother Rollie and sister Twyla, forming an inseparable trio. Moira's cinnamon-furred elegance and endearing size make her a standout companion. Her love for apples adds a delightful quirk to her personality, creating moments of joy during snack time. If you're in search of a furry friend, consider bringing Moira into your home. Adopting her means embracing not just a lovable bunny but also the unique bond she shares with Rollie and Twyla. Make your home complete with the enchanting presence of Moira and her bunny family. Because of their charming and distinctive personalities, rabbits make wonderful pets. Although they can be social with their human families, bunnies need the companionship of their own kind to thrive. From kissing and cuddling to sleeping and playing, bonded rabbits live as a group and do everything together to ensure each other's safety and comfort. Without a companion, rabbits become lonely, depressed and anxious. So that our rabbits live their longest, healthiest and happiest lives, we have bonded them with a companion, and we only offer them for adoption in these bonded groups. Since bonded bunnies share the same bed, exercise pen, litter box, and food and water dishes, caring for two (or three!) rabbits is just as easy as caring for one. So not only will you save two (or three) lives, but you'll also enjoy watching your rabbits hop, play, snuggle and enjoy their new home together.
