DoB 05/14/2016 Poor Molly! Ever since we rescued her from the Downey Shelter, she’s had all sorts of health problems. It took 4 vets to finally diagnose her Pemphigus Foliaceus and then Stomatitis took all her teeth! She is doing much better now with daily meds (easy to give) but still occasionally gets kitty colds. She also has luxating patellas, where her kneecaps can dislocate (but haven’t yet). She is a very sweet, snuggly girl with a great RBF who will want to sit on your lap and sleep with you all the time! She can live with other cats but can be sassy around them (I call it Molly-tude!). She definitely prefers to be with people!

Handsome Roman is a 3 year old male Lab & Terrier mix. He loves car rides, hanging out with his people, going for walks and playing in the yard. He is a high energy guy who really loves to play!!! He really loves playing fetch!!! Roman would do best in a home without any dogs. Unfortunately, we do not know how he is with cats. Children 15 years old or older. His forever home is required to have a fenced yard where Roman can safely run and play. Roman is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, on monthly heartworm preventative as well as house and crate trained. Roman cannot be wait to be loved and spoiled for the rest of his life!!!! All dogs we rescue stay with us until they find their forever homes. A home visit is required to ensure our dog is going to a safe environment and our dog gets along with your dog(s) and/or cat(s). Riddle is a 4-year-old male (55 lbs.) who was rescued from Memphis Animal Services. He is quiet in his crate and very clean. He is a well mannered dog who has a very sweet nature. He has not pottied in his crate or in the house. He is working on his obedience commands and so far he has mastered “Come” and “Sit.” Riddle loves hiking in the woods behind his foster home; hiking brings out the puppy in him. Riddle is currently living in a foster home in the Memphis area, where for the first time, he is learning the ropes of being a pampered pooch. Riddle has heartworms, and he has begun the slow kill treatment for his heartworms. Because Riddle has some scarring from his past life, we think it is best that he be an only dog. He will need a securely fenced yard and to be monitored when he is outside exercising. Why? Because he can climb as well as a cat!!! We do also require a home visit before finalizing adoption to check the security of your fence if you are adopting a dog. Our dogs are given much care and attention and we want to make sure they are in a safe and secure environment. We are a limited intake adoption center and an all volunteer, non-profit organization. All of our animals are disease free, have been spayed/neutered and are up to date on shots. Our standard Dog adoption fee is $150 which includes a microchip. There are sometimes exceptions to standard fee if we have had special medical needs. Our Cat adoption fee is $95.00. Most of our dogs will require a fenced yard. Miss Kitty, Dillon, Doc & Quint were born to a stray in a garage around 04/13/20. Mom was TNRed. Indoor homes only unless the cat is part of our barn cat program. Djibouti, is a "10" on the Hunkmeter. This guy is one of the biggest, mosst lovable lugnuts we've met in a long time. The staff adores him and the volunteers gush over how easy and sweet Djibouti is. He's a super-sized guy who greets us every morning with a one-eared salute. That left ear is constantly in "Go north!" mode. Djibouti walks nicely on leash and knows a few commands. He's very eager to meet strangers and loves affection above anything else. He will be a loyal, loving companion. It doesn't hurt that he's a total heartthrob, too. If you're looking for a larger size, friendly, well-adjusted companion, and a total love of a boy, you need to meet this guy. He is the jam! Come take him out for a walk and see if he's the one!

Jacey, has come a long way since she came to use from a feral community of dogs who lived along busy Moreland Avenue. Adjusting to life as a shelter dog has required a lot of courage and strength of this small shepherd-mix girl. We didn't want to push Jacey beyond her comfort zone, so we have moved slowly, and have been steadily working to gain her trust. It is working, and we think she is ready to find her home. She needs a hero. She needs someone who can see beyond her fear and really see HER. Jacey needs a quiet, stable home with or without dogs, where she can relax. She needs someone patient, who will love and protect her. She feels vulnerable outside her routine, so she can be a flight risk. She needs someone to show her the ropes and help her find her way. While he may fall under dangerous dog regulations, his affectionate nature shines through, especially when there's food involved - he's incredibly food motivated! House trained and well-mannered, Duke is a gentleman who loves to greet you with his bowl or a toy in his mouth. He may have a distaste for lawn maintenance equipment, but he makes up for it with his love for car rides and walks. While Duke prefers to be the only pet or with a very submissive dog, he's proven to be a beloved companion for a 9-year old child and adores snuggling and belly rubs. Meet Simba. This sweet boy is in need of a new home after losing his due to an altercation he had with another dog in the condo complex he lived in. At 8 years young he is the perfect level energy he still loves to run and play fetch, take long walks, hikes but also loves to just chill and hang out with his people. He is super social and sweet with everyone including children. He needs to be your one and only pet but can easily walk past dogs in public and is well behaved being in their proximity he just doesn't want to interact. He has been sitting in boarding for two years while his family tried to fight to keep him but they have not been successful and he deserves to find a new home where he can spend the rest of his days enjoying life. He is fully trained in off leash obedience and his owners will receive free handling lessons from Allied Dog Training.

She came to the refuge from a county animal control shelter with her 7 little black kittens, named for the Seven Dwarfs: Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, Bashful, Sneezy, Dopey, and Doc. Once she is done with her mom duties, Queenie would make someone a wonderful kitty companion, as she is already very affectionate and friendly. Aprox.
