Michael

This is a courtesy post for a family who cannot keep their sweet kitty, Michael, as he is very stressed by the new baby in the family. Michael is about 3 years old. He is fixed, cuddly, friendly, and very sweet. Unfortunately, the family had a baby 2 years ago and he is not adjusting well. They have taken him to vet numerous times over the last 2 years to try and help. He is an anxious cat (according to the vet due to the toddler). The family has tried everything to make him comfortable (plug ins, calming treats, calming collars, new toys, fountain water bowls, and medication). It’s coming to a point where their last option is to keep him heavily medicated for the rest of his life which they don’t want to do. Michael is around 2 big dogs and does well with them, even plays with them. The family is unsure about other cats, but when they found him, he was with other cats running around Easton. They believe he would do well in a home with older kids, just not young ones. If you would like more information on Michael or to request an adoption application, please email us at bandocats@gmail.com

Marvelous Mischa

This guy is the real deal, the whole package, a complete sweetheart. First, he is so handsome with beige-orange fur that we feel confident has some Persian lineage. Sadly some of his coat had to be trimmed from lack of care while on the streets of Cairo but it’s already growing back in beautifully. He has large round eyes, a sweet, curious gaze, and a constant, steady purr. Once settled, Mischa is very friendly and outgoing, gets along well with other cats (gradual introduction please), and wants to be involved in all activities. He has the typical Persian demeanor so is not high energy but is playful, and particularly loves interactive toys on wires or sticks. He likes drinking fresh running water from a faucet and seems to enjoy car rides! But by far Mischa's best attributes are his loving, extremely sweet nature and desire to snuggle and be with people. He loves sitting on a lap, to cuddle up next to someone, and he's game for watching a show or just supervising computer time. Mischa really wants a home where someone will be around a lot to pet him, carry one conversations, and just spend time with him. Estimated to be around 1 year old, he is healthy, neutered, and microchipped. Mischa travelled all the way from Egypt to No.Va., and his rescuer in Egypt bonded very tightly with this special boy so would like to have updates as he settles with his permanent family. Mischa is fostered in Burke, Va. if you’re interested in adding a furry companion, please reach out for an application.

Nixi

Meet Nixi, a 1.5-year-old Aussie mix who is ready to be your very best friend. At a solid 50 pounds, she’s the perfect size for those who want a cuddle buddy with just enough heft to remind you she’s there... but without the lap-crushing weight of a Great Dane. Nixi’s story is one of resilience and hope. She found herself in a shelter, staring down death row, but she’s got a spirit that refuses to be dampened. Even when she ended up coming out heartworm positive and had to undergo treatment, she has always kept her happy-go-lucky personality and shows her love for people and life every day! ♥ Nixi is a pro at hopping into the car for an adventure, and she’s equally happy to chill out at home, so she’s the ultimate dog for any kind of outing (or non-outing). Whether you're hitting the café scene or binge-watching your latest TV obsession, she’s right there with you. In fact, Nixi is the perfect mix of playful and laid-back. She’ll wrestle and play with another dog her size, then promptly hit the couch to ponder the finer things in life, like belly rubs and her next chew toy victim. Nixi’s leash manners are improving every day. She might pull a little, especially when she smells something amazing (probably a rogue hamburger), but she’s learning fast. Her love for walks is matched only by her excitement for meeting new people. Expect her to offer her paw in exchange for pets – and then keep the tail-wagging coming because she loves making new friends. Nixi does well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. As far as proper doggie etiquette...well let's just say she is a work in progress. ? Nixi’s approach to toys and food is simple: “What’s mine is mine, and what’s yours…well, can’t we share?” She’s working on the whole “not everything needs to be communal” concept. She’s respectful of other dogs most of the time, but if she wants something and the other dog doesn't want to share she may get a bit sassy. Ever have that friend who comes over, immediately raids your snack stash, settles in to binge-watch your favorite shows, and makes themselves right at home? But when you visit their place, suddenly they’re just a little territorial about their own stuff? Yeah, that’s Nixi. She’s the sweetest girl, blissfully unaware that she can be just a little bit selfish at times—but we’re convinced she’s on the verge of an epiphany about manners and sharing! No aggression or rudeness intended, of course—Nixi’s just a bit socially "inexperienced" She’s like that friend who means well but still hasn't quite mastered the fine art of not taking the last slice of pizza. Nixi is great with kids! Her playful and adaptable nature makes her a fun companion for children. She’ll happily join in on the games and enjoy the attention, making her a delightful addition to a family with kids. Just like with other pets, she’s still learning the ropes of proper play, but her affectionate and eager-to-please demeanor means she’ll fit right in with a little guidance. So, if you’ve got a family looking for a sweet and energetic dog who can keep up with their activities and bring joy to their lives, Nixi is ready to jump in and make it even more fun! Nixi’s house manners are as charmingly quirky as she is. She’s mastered the art of being potty trained and can rock a spot on the couch like a pro. When left to her own devices, she’s pretty chill – no digging up the yard or munching on your favorite shoes. She’s also a model of indoor behavior, sure, she might "borrow" your sandwich off the counter if you leave it unattended, but can you really blame her? That nose of hers is like a five-star restaurant critic, and when something smells delicious, she’s ready to dine. Counter surfing? More like gourmet adventuring. If you think about it, it's really your fault that your lunch is now in her tummy...leaving it unattended was her invitation. 😉 So, if you’re looking for a playful companion who’s equally adept at being a snuggle buddy and a house manners superstar, Nixi is your gal! With her mix of Aussie energy and sweet charm, she’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and a bit of lighthearted mischief into your home. Ready to welcome a furry friend who will make every day an adventure and every moment a memory? Nixi is just waiting for you to sweep her off her paws and into your heart. So come meet this delightful ball of fluff and see for yourself why she’s destined to be your next best friend! ?? ?Pickup in Sand Springs, OK ? Wilma

We have a very sweet Frenchie who has some ab/aductor issues which make the way she gets up and down as well as the way she walks around sometimes look a little irregular. We have had her thoroughly evaluated and radiography performed. She functions just like a regular dog, runs, plays and can go up and down steps. However, we do prefer to put her in a ranch style home or home where she can go in and out without having to navigate many steps. She gets along well with male dogs and is doing better with females as long as introductions are slow. She loves attention, walks and to be petted nd receive belly rubs. If interested or if you know someone who may be, email iPAWinc2022@gmail.com and request an application. We have her entire medical file we are willing to share with approved applicants and our vet is happy to speak with the veterinarian for any potential forever family. We also have severl videos on the iPAW Facebook page if you would like to see her in action. We are having difficulty uploading them to PF. You can email iPAWinc2022@gmail.com for an application or if you have additional questions.

Cece

Cece is a super sweet, black beauty who has been waiting awhile for someone to pick her. Cece is on the shy side and doesn't "show" well when people come to meet kitties and she is always overlooked. She usually hides in one of the cubes when people come to visit. She only needs someone who can see through her initial shyness around new people because Cece enjoys being petted once she gets to know you and is tolerant of being held for a short time. She is a sit next to you cat rather than on you but her quiet, loving nature will win you over. Cece gets along well with the other kitties and has a silly side to her personality. She enjoys playing with toys but is not one to play directly with the other cats. She tends to hang in the background if the other kitties get to crazy. Her foster mom feels once in a home with less kitties that her true personality will really blossom. Cece has such a big heart and would love to share that with a person of her own. She would do best in a quieter home . Getting adopted with a friend or having a resident friendly kitty to show her the ropes would be nice but not necessary. Cece is an FIP survivor. She has been cured for well over a year now. She had blood work at her last vet visit and was cleared for adoption. She was a very brave girl for her treatment. Cece is about 3 years old,( as of 9/1/24), spayed, up to date on vaccinations and negative for FIV and FeLV. Please email Lori at apcatrescue@gmail.com for an application if you are interested in adopting Cece.
