Alfonso

Alfonso is  mix  breed dog who weighs 40 pounds.  He was born approximately 5/14/2017.  He is an energetic boy and needs a place to run and play.  We believe that he lived most of his life on his own before he came into our adoption program.  He can be a little shy when he first meets you but it doesn't take long for him to become your best friend.  Alfonso will need a home without children and he will also need to be an only dog.  Alfonso is neutered, Heart worm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations and microchipped.    If you are interested in Alfonso please visit our website at www.tysorvet.net and fill out an adoption application.

Working Cat Program

Everyone knows cats are experts at napping but do you know they’re also hard workers? They’re natural rodent deterrents and they love their jobs! If you have a farm, stable, warehouse, factory, greenhouse, nursery, winery, distillery, junkyard, storage facility, repair shop, retail store and more and you have a problem with rodents, our Working Cat program might be the solution. Cats in the program are spayed/neutered and have at least rabies and distemper vaccinations. These cats are those who aren’t socialized enough or have other limitations to be placed up for adoption in a home environment. This non-tradition approach allows these cats to receive shelter, access to food and water and the care they need while offering the service of expert rodent control to their kindhearted adopters. There is no adoption fee for our working cats but a donation would be greatly appreciated. To learn more about our Working Cat Program please call the RCHS Adoption Center at 802.483.6700 or visit www.rchsvt.org.

Rudy

Rudy was a criminal case from Shawano county, brought to our attention in August of 2013. A retired breeder who had already surrendered 60 plus horses to authorities in February (all shipped to slaughter), discovered Rudy on August 16. He had somehow been left behind on the 300+ acre farm. Somehow he had survived on his own. When the breeder discovered him, he immediately contacted authorities and threatened to shoot him if they didn't remove him immediately. Shawano Cty contacted AGES, and thus began one of the most dramatic rescues we have ever been involved in. Rudy was barely a body score of 1, and was standing inside a dilapidated barn in muck up to his knees, which is probably what kept him upright. He was terrified of people, but somehow AGES managed to get him on the trailer, where he promptly collapsed. To this day, it is a miracle he survived, as AGES was still in its early years and ill-prepared to care for a horse with such severe health issues. Rudy was in a sling for the first few weeks with us. Each time we removed the sling, he would collapse and it would take a skidsteer and 6 people to get him back up. He carries scars on his left side as a reminder of this time in his life. He had pneumonia, massive worm counts, and vomited anything we tried to administer orally. During those months of recovery, we learned to be mindful of flying hooves and teeth. Several of us have scars and broken bones as a result of his desperate need to protect himself, despite his poor condition. He was adopted out for a few years to one of the only people he ever truly bonded with, however his training did not continue, and he was allowed to behave as he chose. Due to his adopter's health issues, he was returned to AGES. Rudy is a fighter, and intended for great things. He also loves to jump, which is something our trainer discovered when we first began working with him. We would love to see Rudy achieve his true potential and find a forever home with someone he loves. Please note, however, Rudy will not be rideable. Blanca

I am very active & heard-headed so I need an experienced adopter. I love to play & take things outside, like shoes, clothes, bottles. I love to chew on toys & tear them to pieces. I am getting better at not jumping. When I was surrendered, I was a puppy & had the excitement pee. Now I can hold it & go outside (for the most part). I am crate trained & LOVE attention.

Master

Master is one of our favorite pups for adoption! We literally do not understand why he hasn't been scooped up yet. This adorable boy was rescued from an emergency hospital. He was originally adopted from NYCACC. at some point in his time with his adopters, he needed emergency care for an obstruction. His owners couldn't afford it, so they abandoned him at the hospital. Everyone loved him so much so they did whatever they could to treat him and also prevent him from having to go back to ACC. Thankfully, that's when he was rescued. Sad to think that that was years ago, and he is still without a loving family of his own. Master is a very sweet, calm, low key, affectionate boy. All he wants to do is be close to his person and cuddle up and love on you. He likes other dogs too, but honestly, may just want his humans all to himself. Please, we are sick over the fact that he continues to wait. We know for a fact that he will make his future family so so incredibly happy. Is that you? Please email us to find out how to meet Master! projectpetinc@gmail.com

Bella

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE: To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. Apply to adopt with our online cat application: https://fs17.formsite.com/waverlypetrescue/form4/index.html Please go to our web-site to learn more about Waverly Pet Rescue: www.waverlypetrescue.com Bella's family in Waverly, Iowa, could no longer keep her. So Waverly Pet Rescue took her in. She is up to date on shots, tested FeLV / FIV negative, and spayed. Bella is about 6-1/2 years old as of January 2024. She is very sweet, friendly, and loving. She enjoys attention and to be petted. She is not a total fan of being picked up and held so a home with no children would be best. She likes to be in your lap if it is her idea. She needs a home with no other cats and no dogs. She wants to be your only one! 11/14/18 UPDATE: Bella is a total sweetheart. She is a great cat and deserves a forever home. She deserves a human that will take the time to get to know her and to let her be herself. She likes to be petted but can get over-stimulated at times and then you need to stop petting her or she will nip your hand. This is common with many cats and not a big deal. A cat will give you signs of when they have had enough, swooshing of the tail, ears go back, etc. Bella needs a true cat person who understands this and will follow her cues. As with any cat, you may get bit if you continue to pet when a cat wants you to stop. Also, if she rolls to her back it is a trap. Do not pet her belly! haha. Bella is a princess and she desires a home that will treat her that way. Bella's adoption fee is $95.00. WE ARE A NO-KILL 501-C-3 NON-PROFIT RESCUE. All donations are tax deductible. We do not have a shelter. All pets live in foster homes. We only adopt to indoor homes. To see an animal, you must fill out an application first and then once approved, we can set up for you to meet the animal you are interested in. We do background checks on all applicants. If you have assault, domestic abuse, or drug charges please do not apply. If you have questions, please send an email to waverlypetrescue@mchsi.com All animals see a vet for shots and normal exams. If they appear healthy and there are no obvious health concerns, then extensive testing is not done. This is normal procedure for pet rescues and shelters. Waverly Pet Rescue puts a lot of money into medical care for each dog and cat we take in. $200 is the average cost for basic care. This does not include if the animal had an injury, required extra flea / ear mite treatments, or needed extra days at the vet office.

Saki

Meet Saki! Saki is a rescue in need of some rehab. At about 2 years old, she's all black and worried; not quite understanding what this shelter life is all about. However, she is safer than where she was, has food, water and friends, and with a little more time and love, we know she can become the lovable and wonderful companion she can be!
