George and Teddy

** DUO - TO BE ADOPTED AS A PAIR ** George and Teddy: 4 1/2 year old short-haired male grey striped tabbies (brothers) Adoption Fee: $150 for both. George and Teddy are brothers from a litter of 5 kittens and their Mom, Dory who was rescued when she was pregnant. They get along really well together and would like to be adopted together as the only pets to a home with no kids or dogs. They are being fostered with male and female cats and get along well with other cats, but may be dominant at times particularly with male cats so they would love to be adopted as only pets in their new home George and Teddy might be shy at first but once they warm up, they are very friendly with their people and like to come over for pats and cheek rubs and occasionally like to sit on a warm lap for cuddles. They are a vocal pair and like to talk when they have some news to share or when it is time to eat their wet food. They are very active and agile and like to roam so would do best in a house as opposed to an apartment. They may like to jump up high to survey their domain but can also be couch potatoes and like to sleep together. George and Teddy would be best adopted into a forever home with a female human. Teddy had a dental cleaning and a few teeth removed at the end of November. George had his dental and a few teeth removed in May. Both boys are ready for adoption now. Won't you give this terrific twosome a home to call their own soon?

Lucia

Lucia. Birthdate: February 1, 2014 Hola! My name is Princesa Lucia, descendant of Princess Buttercup, but you can just call me Lucia. I am one of the Princess Bride kittens (my sister Haviera Montoya is also on Petfinder). My mama had a one night stand and her owner could not care for us in the style in which we deserve. Fortunately, a volunteer from Save A Cat Rescue scooped us up and promised to find a purrfect castle of our very own! I am a Tortico – a calico just like my pretty mama and a tortie! I love to play with my little brother and purr a lot!

Princess

10/24/2014 Princess is still looking for her forever family. She loves to be petted and as we've found out over the past few months she loves to play. She is fine with other cats or can be an only cat. We know there is someone out there who will give this girl a chance. 03/25/2014 Princess was rescued from a high kill shelter we work with as her time was running out. Princess is on the shy side at first but will come up to you as she loves attention. Once she adjusts which takes a day or two she is the most loving cat you will ever find. We do think she may have some Siamese in her or Oriental shorthair as she has the body of a siamese and she likes to talk. We hope someone will give her the chance she needs to find her forever family. We do think she was abused at one time as she is a little cautious when you pet her near her back end. She does purr as soon as you get near her. She is ok with other cats who are laid back or she can be an only cat. A quiet home with no young children would probably be perfect for her. Princess is estimated to be 2-4 years old and is a stunning brown tabby with spotted markings. She is already spayed, vaccinated, tested negative and microchipped. We just need to find her the forever family she deserves. Online Application Form All cats are up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and are spayed or neutered if they are 5 months of age or older. Kittens adopted under the age of 5 months will come back to Itty Bitty Kitty, Inc. to be spayed or neutered as part of our adoption agreement. All adopters receive a 4lb bag of Science Diet dry food along with an adoption goodie bag for the cat or kitten they adopt. All of this care is included in our adoption fee of only $75.00!

Barn Cats

The Pride Rescue is seeking safe barn or indoor/outdoor homes for several cats who are currently living outdoors and are semi-feral/feral. Each has been trapped as part of The Pride's TNR (trap, neuter, release) program and has already vaccinated/spayed/neutered - these city-cats are living amongst high traffic in and around downtown Hamilton feeding stations maintained by The Pride, and desperately need to find safe, rural homes where they can happily live out their lives as barn cats. These cats are not mousers, though they WILL catch mice, they are used to and must continue to be properly fed/watered by a caring property owner who would like a lovely feline or two to patrol the barn. Some of these guys enjoy the odd bit of petting and might make suitable "office cats" to interested businesses, but most are quite independent cats who simply need a safer outdoor space to call home. **PLEASE SUBMIT A BRAN CAT APPLICATION TODAY** Applications are available on our website at http://priderescue.ca/ under Barn Cats

Charlotte

Meet Charlotte! Oh what a character. Charlotte came to us after a plea from the shelter asking us to give a second chance to a sweet dog up for euthanasia at the county shelter. Little is known about her past but Charlotte is a sweet dog deserving of the right family to come along and giving her the home of her dreams. She is crate and potty trained. She walks beautifully on a leash and loves to show off in front of the camera for some treats. She would love to be your one and only pet in the home and could go home with older children. Could Charlotte be the one you are looking for? Contact us at azk9org@gmail.com to set up a meet and greet with our girl.

Celeste

Meet Celeste! This beautiful girl has been in and out of rescue most all of her life. She was originally surrendered by a breeder to the shelter as a sick puppy. Throughout her time with the rescue she has joined a few families that turned out to not be the right fit for our girl. Instead of telling you what won’t work for our girl, we will tell you what we are hoping to find for her: A home with no other pets where she can be the one and only and spoiled with love Kids are great, she loves them. A home with structure. Celeste does best with routine and structure in the home. A forever home with patience and love to give. Celeste does like to go on walks and car rides, ultimately she longs to be in a home of her very own. Celeste is a rescue volunteer favorite, we all want to see her in a home of her very own. Celeste is crate and potty trained. She does know basic obedience and would thrive in a family that would enjoy working with her.

Babe Ruth

Update March 2024: TO MY SPECIAL HUMAN – THIS POST IS FOR YOUR EYES ONLY!!! I know you are out there and waiting for just the right canine friend to come into your life. Well, here I am – ready and waiting for you. I have been blessed to have been at Caring For Creatures for many years, but I feel the time is right for me to retire into a home of my very own! If I may, allow me to share just some of my many positive qualities: I come already programmed with experience and wisdom; I’m a lovebug with humans (just ask the CFC staff and volunteers!), I will entertain you with my silly antics as I enjoy my toys (I have LOTS of toys here); I’m great inside and I’ve been dreaming of having a couch of my own where I can put my couch potato skills into practice. Yes, officially I’m a “senior” with 12 years of sharing love under my belt, but you will find I still have some pep in my step and enjoy (and need) exercise to keep my mature figure in top shape!! My only request is that I be your only animal friend. A fenced yard for lounging and playing would be great as well. Please call the wonderful humans at Caring For Creatures to arrange a time for us to meet – I’ll be waiting for you. Love, Babe Update Winter 2024: "I had a couple really sweet evenings recently with one of the long term volunteers who drives a good 2 hrs to come and help at the Sanctuary.  His name is Ed and I adore him.  He might stay after hours doing his "thing" but is always great about checking in on me and taking me out of my overnight bathroom area at The Scratching Post and to the ante room at The Post.  He and I will curl up and chat on the mini sofa there for some extreme snuggle time.  It truly does my heart good.  He will also take me for a short walk right before he tucks me in bed and heads back home.  I know I am loved and important especially with Ed by my side.   Ed tells me I am in good health and promises to come and chill with me again soon.  For this,  I am grateful. Update Fall 2023: Our pretty redhead Babe Ruth seems to be in a good state these days.  Staff and volunteers alike have noted that she's more calm and laid back and has a greater feeling of peace about her.   Boy, do we love this!   Babe Ruth is still up to her silly antics of burying her toys and still has her fave volunteer Angela bringing her a fresh of assortment of toys to help keep her at her best.  Some might say Babe Ruth maintains the best overnight accommodations on site in the ante room of The Scratching Post and who are we to disagree with this observation?  We enjoy and are honored to have Babe Ruth under our care and look forward to fitting her with her winter coat to enjoy the upcoming cooler temps.   You go sweet girl.  She’s a BABE all right! While she may not catch the balls and run the bases, she’s ready to make a home run hit with you! All dressed up in her two-tone jacket and happy to show off her long, lean legs, Babe Ruth’s a real head-turning lady! But her beauty is not just skin deep. She has the perfect skill set for a busy, active family, whether walking down Main Street or rambling through the park. Babe Ruth is a very social, affectionate lady.  Just prior to our taking her in, her very temporary foster family reported that she was a HUGE couch potato only wanting to be near people!  Don’t be fooled by her love of the sofa though, as she loves to get fresh air and exercise to keep her sleek, trim look!  Very, very smart, she knows sit, shake and lay down on command.  A friendly gal, she’s pretty unflappable and ready to head on home to your private ball park! A Word from Babe Ruth “Ask just about anyone who has met me and they’ll tell you that I am one of the sweetest dogs around. When I first met one of my walkers, I knew at once she would be friendly! I immediately approached her with a toy in my mouth and placed it at her feet, and wagged my tail expectantly. I love attention and I am quick to roll onto my back for belly rubs. Although I am getting older, I still have plenty of energy and love to go around chasing tennis balls. Going on car rides is one of my favorite things! Not to be conceited, I am easily one of our smartest dogs and am perceptive and well-behaved around people. During feedings, I always wait patiently on my platform and never jump, despite being excited to eat as evidenced by my wagging tail.” What Babe Needs in Her Home – Babe Ruth is a great dog, very friendly and loving, but she will do best in a home without cats and other dogs. Be careful that she does not see another dog or cat up close, because she can pull very hard when interested, and she may not use her best manners. A fenced yard would be great! She is happy in a crate or without, and understands the dynamics of living indoors, including housetraining. She is good around kids, and will be a great part of your family! DOB: March 2011 Arrival: March 2013 History: Babe Ruth was pulled from a high kill shelter when her time was "up." 55lbs. Hound/Shepard Mix.
