Cinnamon & Stormy

Cinnamon & Stormy are a mother-daughter duo that must be adopted as a pair. 🙂 Cinnamon was a very young street cat who found herself with kittens. She and her daughter, Stormy, are incredibly bonded- they do everything together! She is very petite and LOVES head scratches. Her and Stormy love wrestling and playing with toys together. Cinnamon will sleep at the foot of your bed and come up for snuggles and head scratches when she sees that you’re awake! Stormy is a very sweet, calm kitten that LOVES her mommy. She still tries to nurse, which Cinnamon allows… sometimes ? She loves to wrestle, snuggle and play with her mom. She’s very affectionate and loves to watch her people. She always looks grumpy, but don’t let that fool you… she’s a sweetheart. Cat trees are her weakness!

Loco

Loco needs a lot of attention, she is slow and may have neurological issues. She has had many test to rule out the obvious. Could have been caused by trauma as a kitten. She is sweet cuddly and playful, she would do best in smaller home where she wont get lost. She's OK with older children and possibly a gentle cat or one of her siblings. You have to visit her to understand her limitations.

Patou

Patou combines the majestic looks of a Great Pyr with the easier maintenance shorter coat of a lab in one great 50-lbs package, well for right now. Hard to say how big the "package" will be when fully grown, but we would think at least 80-90 lbs. Right now, he is just a goofy puppy who loves to play, eat, sleep, repeat. He gets along phenomenally with all his dog and people friends at the rescue and will be a wonderful addition to an active home with a big yard. Could it be yours? Our Furry Friendz are available for adoption through a screening process which includes but is not limited to: a completed application, 3 referrals, a home visit, and a vet referral prior to their furever home placement. The dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccines and on heart worm/flea preventative. stumpy in falls church va

Stumpy is a friendly, playful, small but stocky dog who was rescued in Afghanistan and has been in a series of shelters and fosters for the past year. He really needs a loving home and is eager and affectionate with everyone he meets. He is overweight but on a diet now, and he loves to take long leash walks and play. He adores children and is fine with dogs who pass when he is on a leash walk, but he is nervous interacting with new dogs in a closed yard or home, especially around food. He would need time to adjust to a resident dog but he has good intentions. He is now fostering in Falls Church, Virginia, and is available to meet and greet any time. Call Pam at 703 577 4460 or Andrew at 954 594 7439. Thank you!!!!!

Poppy

Some cats really show how grateful they are to be rescued. Poppy seems to say thank you every day. Poppy is a super soft, super sweet tuxedo girl with the cutest black dot on her pink nose and tiny white patch on the tip of her tail. Her markings are just beautiful and so is her soul. She purrs and snuggles with joy, and clops around like a little pony when she has the zoomies. Poppy's favorite thing is to be by your side. She will sleep on your feet at night and follow you around (even when you take a shower--she'll wait for you in the bathroom). Other favorites include mealtime, giving kisses, grooming her foster sister, and playing with plastic spiral toys--she picks them up in her mouth and brings them to whatever room you're in so that you can enjoy the action. Poppy has one minor special need that is very easy to manage. She is about 2 years old and so soft. She is spayed, vaccinated, and negative for FIV/FeLV. If you can open your home and heart to this gentle girl, she will give you love back tenfold. Poppy can be adopted solo, as a companion to another gentle kitty, or with her bestie and foster sister, Cashew. Think you and Poppy are a great match? Seven

Seven’s owner reached out to us with a video and his heartbreaking story of needing to find Seven a new home due to economic hardships. While many details are private about his owner's circumstances, we can share that Seven was rescued off the streets of Houston as a starving stray in 2020. His rescuer did not have much money of his own, but refused to ignore Seven’s plea for help when he walked over to him and begged for scraps. He intended to find a rescue group to take him in, but sadly as many know, every place he reached out to did not have any space for him. The gentleman has kept Seven with him for 2 years now. Unfortunately, with economic hardships he was forced to move into a smaller place and cannot always afford his own bills. He told us he would go without eating sometimes to ensure Seven always had his meal. He tried to provide plenty of playtime and did everything he could to keep Seven happy, but he feels he needs a stable home. We discussed many different options of how we could keep them together, but ultimately he has decided to completely surrender him over to find his forever home. He does not want Seven to end up in a shelter. Seven was taken into our program yesterday and is doing well. He’s a big boy at 96 lbs, but he is very friendly and relaxed at our vet. Our vet describes him as a friendly and happy soul! Seven has been around kids and other dogs, he does well with both and is house trained. He walked well on a leash for us and loved the car ride as a perfect backseat passenger. Seven is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

Gladys & Juniper Olive (50% off adoption fees!)

Gladys & Juniper Olive: Meet this amazing special-needs duo who met in their foster home and fell in love! Juniper Olive’s mission is to make sure you will never be bored. He provides all the necessary services to his humans, including endless cuddles, crazy-fun playtime, companionship, and fire-side chats ... everything you need from a kitty friend! Juniper is also an exterminator in training - and he will make sure your home is bug-free while he checks every corner of your house to ensure you are safe and sound! All you need to pay for this superior service from Juniper is good food and treats, as well as endless love. He's silly, loving, playful, and super sweet! Juniper’s best friend is Gladys, who is a sweet, constant companion. After her life on the streets, she is thrilled to be inside. She greets everyone excitedly with a fast shake of her tail as she eagerly awaits pets. She loves getting brushed. Sometimes she falls over with delight from the salon-like attention! This feline lady loves her pal Juniper, especially when he wants snuggles and naps. She’s very affectionate to her humans, though she’s not really a lap cat. Gladys has hyperthyroidism, which she takes a pill for every day—and will need to for the rest of her life. She also has a very slow-growing mass in her lung, which right now is not causing her any problems. In fact, at a recent vet visit, the vet said her lab work is normal, and we will take that as a win! We don't know what the future will bring for Gladys, and we'd really love to have her find her forever family so she can continue to get all the love and spoiling she deserves, for however long she has to return it. Gladys is around 11 years old. We consider Juniper to be a special needs cat because he has hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (the most commonly diagnosed cardiac disease in cats), a condition that causes the muscular walls of a cat's heart to thicken. Juniper is on daily medication to help him feel his best, and right now, he's doing great! He will need to be on medication for his whole life and will need routine vet visits and cardiac evaluations as needed. We hope someone with a heart as full of love as Juniper's will open their home to him and Gladys and give them the forever family they truly deserve. Both kitties can live with kids and other cats. They are spayed/neutered, FeLV and FIV negative, current on shots, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and litter box trained. Adoption fee: $150 for both kitties (plus tax) - 50% off adoption fees! To adopt, please fill an application out at: https://www.projectmeow.org/adopt/adoption-application/ For additional information, contact us at: adoptions@projectmeow.org Project MEOW is a 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue organization and is dedicated to saving the lives of West Philadelphia's homeless, abandoned, and unwanted animals.
