Meet sweet Nala! 1 year old mom and just the sweetest little love! She deserved more than the life she was given. Nala's family reached out for help after Nala had a litter of kittens. Sadly, they gave most of the kittens away free to a good home. We picked up the remaining kittens and brought them into rescue. We always spay mom. Mom would go the next day to get spayed, but still full of milk from nursing. The clinic did a flank spay (an incision on her side instead of her undercarriage). This would keep her milk filled nipples from pulling open her incision. But her Cauliflower ear really caught our attention, and she will need to be seen at our full service vet. The vet did some test and determined that at one point Nala had a simple problem: either an infection or possibly ear mites that was left untreated. That untreated turned into a hematoma which was also left untreated resulting in the unusual ear we see today. Instead of calling the owner to return her back home, we called and asked that the owner surrender her into rescue. Welcome to rescue Love! When you go to Petco in Acworth, you will meet a strange looking kitty: folded ear, entire right side shaved. She will greet you with her amazing personality, playing with the feather sticks and asking for pets. We are hoping someone will look past her flaws and see the amazing kitty that is Nala! Say hello to Jack! He is such a handsome little kitty that I just had to name him after my husband lol actually I did that because he's so patient with me and so supportive of me and Rescue and I am a little overrun with kitties right now. So I decided to honor him by naming one of the kitties after him! Not sure it's working, but I thought it was cute anyway! Jack is a 3 pound three month old male kitty with stunning stunning colors! He is so sweet and loves to play. He gets along well with all kitties, even older kitties, who don't particularly care for kittens. He still tries to play and tries to be friends with them. So Jack would be a great addition to a family with a cat already or someone who is looking to start being a cat parent. He has two siblings, one sibling had to be euthanized because he was so weak and not thriving. His brothers are Hunter and Luke and they will be posted this week as well.
