Ruby the ruby macaw

Ruby is a gorgeous Ruby hybrid macaw, 20+ age. She is a large girl with a bit of an attitude. She needs a strong, confident macaw home. She is not as much aggressive as she is strong willed. So far she has shown a preference for women, but we welcome anyone interested to come meet this drop dead gorgeous girl, never know who she will pick as her people!! Note - A Ruby hybrid is a cross between a Scarlet and Greenwing - personality traits for Ruby are much more from her Scarlet parent, she did not inherit the sweet, mellow, gentle nature of many GW. Adoption Process:Fill out our online adoption application which can be found on our website, www.ahelpingwing.org (no phone calls please). A representative from A Helping Wing will be in touch to answer all questions and discuss setting up a first visit. Multiple visits are required before adoption. Although there is no application fee, there is an adoption fee, which covers food, medical care, etc., and allows us to continue our efforts in rescuing, caring for, and finding homes for all of our birds. All birds at AHW have been vetted and have negative tests for any disease before they are made available for adoption! Tater

HELP!! HELP!! HELP!! Tater is in need of a new home, but then what's new, so many, many wonderful four legged pets are in need of kind, loving, caring and responsible new homes. This handsome boy is six years old, weighs in at eighty three pounds and is a fabulous Labrador Retriever mix. What a sweetheart this lad is!!! He totally loves everyone and never meets a stranger. He has a terrific personality, he is easy going and very, very kind. He did have a home once. His owners decided they didn't want him any longer so they put him in the car and drove him straight to Hillsborough County Animal Services, a very, very HIGH kill county shelter. He did absolutely NOTHING to deserve being dumped/abandoned. What a lucky, lucky pooch he is, he is one of the few that made it out alive. So many, many that walk through the doors at animal control facilities NEVER make it out, they are put to sleep. Not because of anything they have done, it is because of their owners who plain and simply do NOT have any regard for their lives. It is sooooo terribly sad, so many, many die unnecessarily. We have promised him he will get the MOST terrific home in the world this time around. Don't you think he deserves a great home with someone that loves him and will be his bestest bud for the rest of his life!! We sure do!! His foster folks think he is just the best companion ever! He is just the most awesome gent you have ever met. Very hard to believe with knowing what he's been through. One thing is for doggone sure and that is that he is one handsome dude!. And of course he's as sweet as sugar and definitely just as happy as a clam!!! Here is what this baby doll would love. Tater would love to go on nice long car rides, and loves nice long walks. He will love to snuggle in right next to you at night and help keep you keep the sheets warm!! During the day, he'd love to watch TV with you, actually, he'll really love being right next to you at all times. You see, Tater is very affectionate and loves spending as much time as he possibly can just hanging out at home, following you around and doing whatever you say. He wants to make you soooo happy, so he's going to do everything in his power to please you. What he DOES NOT want is to loose his home again, this time he wants a permanent place in someones heart, someone that wall make a commitment to care for him, love him, and keep him with them forever and ever! What more could anyone ask for, Tater is completely housebroken and totally trustworthy to be left home alone! This gent is pretty close to perfect!!! In fact, he is perfect!! Is he just the best or what?? Yep, he IS the best!!! Any questions you may have regarding Tater, please call 813-263-5531 Adoption donation $85.00

Ricky-Seeking Sponsors

Thank you for supporting Save the Dalmatians and it's rescued dogs. Ricky is a special needs dog who is in our Forever Foster home program. For the past 6 years Ricky has been unconditionally loved and cherished by his Forever Foster home. His Foster mom reports that he is THE MOST affectionate dog she has ever known. His big brown eyes that search your soul make it impossible to be upset with him, even at his naughtiest behavior. He loves his older dalmatian sister; although he wishes she would be more responsive to his play requests and give him a good chase. He is uncertain of new people but once he realizes you are a friend and not a foe he will be your best friend forever. Ricky was rescued from a Los Angeles county animal shelter in 2012. He was found as a stray, estimated to be almost 2 years old. He was adopted and in a home for 3 years. That home returned him back to our rescue after Ricky's playmate, their female dalmatian passed away. They got another male dalmatian and found that Ricky did not get along with their new dog. Also due to Ricky's larger size and love for all toys they decided Ricky was not a good fit to be around their new grandbaby when the baby started crawling. He also had a high prey drive and had mistaken some fluffy stray cats on their property as toys. Ricky was returned to Save the Dalmatians in 2016 with severe ear infections and untreated allergies (requiring costly monthly perscription food), and occassional grand mal seizures. It was also determined that he had untreated Addison's disease, that requires a costly monthly medication/injection. (President Kennedy also had Addison's disease). Due to his health issues, past abuse, behavioral issues (i.e. nervous around kids, no small children, no small animals, gets into everything, needs close supervision, seperation anxiety), and expensive monthly medical bills for the monthly injection to treat the Addison's disease and perscription food for his allergies, Ricky was placed in our Forever Foster program for dogs at-risk and difficult to place. The Foster home provides a loving home for life and the rescue pays for the medical needs of the dog for life. Our goal is to find every dog a permanent forever home through Adoption. However the reality is that on occassion there are beautiful sweet loving dogs, like Ricky, through no fault of their own, are very hard to place and need a very specific home. Through fate these dogs land in the right loving foster homes. Usually they already have other pets, and are active rescue volunteers, capable and willing to open their heart and home forever for these special dogs, but need financial support for their medical needs. We hope you can find it in your heart to help us to continue to rescue and support these dogs, by sponsoring a dog today, through either a one time donation or monthly re-occurring donation. All amounts are needed and much appreciated. Thank you for helping us save dalmatians and other canines. Follow us on Facebook where we first post about our incoming rescued and adopted dogs. Here is the Facebook link that you can copy and paste into your browser. https://m.facebook.com/savethedals/?ref=bookmarks If you can help by making a monetary donation for the continued care of the dogs in our Forever Foster program it would be much appreciated. We accept Paypal using our rescue@savethedals.org account. If you prefer to send a monetary donation through the mail please make the check payable to Save the Dalmatians and send it to us at 1061 Georgetown Ave, Turlock CA 95382. Trickle

Our rescues mean a lot to the vet staff and DunRoamin' volunteers. We do everything we can to find the perfect homes for these pets, who are being given a second chance at a happy life. The application process requires pre-adoption applications, references, and interviews with you and those listed on your application in order to ensure a successful placement. If interested, please complete an application for adoption at ------III https://form.jotform.com/60793520585259 IIII------ Trickle and her sisters Chyler and Bliss all came to DunRoamin' on November 18, 2015 from Grand Falls. The people who had them requested that they be euthanized because they were too wild. These three little girls were only about three and a half months old, born about August 1, 2015. All three were in decent health, although they were slightly skinny and had fleas. Their parasites were treated and they got lots of healthy food so they could put on some weight. They were initially scared, but a little love and compassion have gone a long way and they now realize they are among friends. Chyler is the most affectionate, and her sisters are coming along well. As of January 6, 2016, they cuddle, purr and play with the best of them!

Quork & Betsy

Before we can discuss a specific bird with you, we ask that you follow our adoption process. Some birds are in foster homes that may adopt them, many other birds are waiting for our help and are not yet posted in PetFinders. The adoption coordinator in your area will work with you to find the best home for each bird, and a species and personality that works best for your family too. We want to set everyone up for success, especially our parrots. To get started, the adoption process includes completing our parrot match application and attending one of our core classes. You can find information about this process on our website at www.phoenixlanding.org/adopt. QUORK and BETSY are best buddies. Quork is a scarlet macaw and Betsy is a military macaw. They first came to us in 2004 from an animal control confiscation, so their ages are unknown. They were adopted but returned to us when their adopter got cancer. We take lifetime responsibility for all birds that come to Phoenix Landing. We want them to stay together in their next home. Most birds are relinquished because people don’t think they can give enough time and attention. However, having two birds is a way to ensure they have a social life and to take the pressure off of you. You shouldn’t expect to have a hands-on relationship with a pair like Quork and Betsy, however, most birds prefer to interact without a lot of touching. So these two are just to be enjoyed, and they are certainly entertaining! They are moved together on a PVC perch and enjoy lots of time in an aviary, which they so deserve! AREAS OF OPERATION: Phoenix Landing serves only Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, North Carolina, and northeast Florida. We do not ship birds. However, everyone is welcome and encouraged to join us for our online events. Parrots are unique and they deserve us to be informed caretakers. There are also many past event recordings available which you may find helpful. All event information can be found at www.phoenixlanding.org/events
