Blaine

Urgent foster or adopter in ORANGE COUNTY ONLY needed for Blaine! Blaine is hoping to catch her freedom flight from Kauai to Diamond's Friends Pet Rescue, but she will miss her flight if she doesn't have a foster or adopter ready to welcome her upon her arrival. Currently 2 years of age and 13lbs, Blaine is a spayed and vaccinated chi/spaniel mix. She's a sweet but shy girl that needs to come to California to save her life! She would do best in a patient home that can get her plenty of exercise (both physical and mental) and help her come out of her shell. She's been through a lot in her short life, clearly already being a momma and ending up in the shelter, so she deserves a second chance at life. Like most shelter dogs, Blaine will need a home that is willing to work with her on training, including potty training, crate training, and obedience. For whoever is up for the worthwhile challenge, Blaine will reward you with a ton of love for the rest of her life. If you are interested in fostering or adopting Blaine, please fill out a foster or adopter questionnaire on our website!

Mr. Green

We need a foster or adopter (ORANGE COUNTY ONLY) for Mr. Green. This sweet boy is with one of our overcrowded shelter partners and has been there since January. He can't catch a break! We'd love to help him, but we can't do it unless he has a place to go upon arrival! Mr. Green is a 62lbs, 2 year old hound mix. He is a sweet boy but is pretty timid, so he will need a patient home willing to help him understand that noises, fast movements, and pets are not scary. Maggie Moo (Monroe)

Hello! My name is Maggie Moo (Monroe), and I'm a 5-year-old, 40 pound, gray and white Pitbull. I have a bright and shiny personality that has never met a stranger. Everyone is my friend! I'm great with children and other dogs my size or larger. I do not do well with cats or small dogs. I'm crate trained, house trained, and good on a leash. I enjoy taking walks and will pull a little if I see people to say hello to and a bit more strongly if I see another dog to greet. Again, I’m a social butterfly. What can I say? I love playing with balls and other toys. Especially if there is a squeaker involved. I was found as a stray living in a cemetery in Humboldt, TN. When I was found, it was obvious from my underbelly that I had had several litters of puppies. None of my puppies were found with me. We think I may have been used for breeding and then dumped. I kind of look like a cow with my black and white moo design and my saggy underbelly. Which is why I am affectionally called “Maggie Moo”. I have some joint issues and arthritis. We are not sure if this is from overbreeding or perhaps other causes. The vet recommends managing signs of soreness or pain with occasional anti-inflammatory medications as needed and keeping me at a healthy weight. I do have a bit of separation anxiety and will need someone who can be patient with me especially for the first few weeks in your home until I can settle in and be more independent. I'm up to date on all my vaccinations, spayed and have been treated for heartworm disease. I'm currently being fostered in Franklin, TN, but I can be transported out of state for the right home. Please note, there is a transport fee. If you're looking for a sweet and social butterfly, I'm your girl!

Pixie

Dear Future Family, I’m Pixie! I’m here to tell you a bit about myself, in case you’re on the lookout for a sweet, playful, and loyal companion who loves being around people. I’m a little older, but don’t let that fool you—I still have plenty of energy to keep up with whatever life throws my way! I’ve lived with kids before and absolutely adored them. Whether it’s playing, cuddling, or just being around for company, I’m all in! I’ve also spent time with teens, and guess what? I love them too! Really, it doesn’t matter the age; if you’re kind, I’m your friend. Cats? I used to live with some, so I think I’d be fine with those furry felines. And as for other dogs, well, I love them too! I’m house-trained and pretty easygoing. I don’t need a crate since I’m not destructive when left alone, though I do have a bit of a thing about being crated—it’s just not for me. I’ll cry a little when you leave, but once I know you’re coming back, I’ll settle down and wait for you right by the door. You’ll always get a warm welcome when you return! And I’ll probably jump up to say hi, but don’t worry, we’re working on that. I love going for car rides, especially if it means a fun adventure, and I enjoy playing fetch in the yard or going for a nice walk. If you like hikes, I’d be your perfect trail buddy! I’m not too picky about my home—I’d love a yard, but I’d do well in an apartment too, as long as you’re up for a little playtime. In the house, I’m pretty chill. I love hanging out with my people, snuggling, and being part of the action. I’m great with food (very motivated by treats, just saying!), and I’ll do my best to make you happy. So whether you’re a busy family, a couple, or a single adventurer, I think we could be a perfect match. Let’s meet soon—I can’t wait to start my new life with you! Love, Pixie Pixie was born approximately September 2016 and is a large dog. Her adoption fee is $225

Arlo

Introducing Arlo, the sweetest little 2 year old terrier mix with the cutest underbite. Remarkably, he is looking for his furever home! Arlo is a very affectionate little guy and loves to cuddle up in your lap. Arlo loves walks and he has excellent leash manners; he does not pull and is content to trot along beside you, occasionally stopping to do some sniffs. He also does great in the car and enjoys tagging along for a ride. Arlo has also has excellent house manners and is working very hard to earn his house trained badge. He can hold it overnight, but wears a belly band during the day while he adjusts to his foster parents' work schedule. Arlo prefers to play with his people rather than toys and is very gentle. He can be a bit shy meeting new dogs, but he regularly plays with his furry foster brother now. He is also good around children. Arlo is a bit picky about treats, but loves his kibble. He also enjoys a good bone and is able to take turns sharing with his foster brother. This sweet boy really just wants to be loved and give love in return. He will steal your heart and be your best friend for life!

Ollie

We're excited to share that Ollie is now available for adoption! This fun loving doodle boy found himself in a rural shelter, and with a little bit of help from our fellow rescuers, he landed in a foster home in Omaha. Ollie is around a year old and weighs 63 lbs. He is neutered, up to date with vaccinations (one remaining booster is scheduled in a couple of weeks), microchipped, current on tick/flea/heartworm prevention, and freshly groomed. Ollie's foster parents report that he's been doing great in their care. Here are some of the key things about Ollie's personality, and things we hope to find in his Furever home: Ollie would love a home with a fenced in yard (no electric fence, please). He does great with other dogs. He loves to play a lot, so if his forever home has another dog, they need to understand there will be lots of playing and rough housing. He needs a big toy box, as he loves to walk around with a toy in his mouth. His favorite treat seems to be a bully stick, or something he can spend time chewing on. He is still a bit of a puppy and very inquisitive. He is fully house broken and crate trained. He hasn’t had one accident, and he knows what to do when he goes outside. He will need time in his crate when left unsupervised as he loves slippers and and anything fuzzy A couple of things he will need to work on—he doesn’t like the inside stairs and has no desire to even try (thinking about a 2 story home). He does the outside deck steps just fine. He walks very well on a leash. We do think given his size he probably needs to be with a family that has either no kids or older kids so he doesn’t knock a little one over by accident. He really is just a big lovable goofy ball of fur that wants to be loved in his forever home that will pet and scratch him behind the ears non-stop. If you think Ollie is the family member you've been looking for, we invite you to complete an adoption application on our website: https://www.midwestwheatenrescue.org/adoption-info
