Quincy

Quincy is an incredibly sweet boy that wants nothing more than to be loved, have playtime, and have his belly filled. He is an incredible snuggler. However, he prefers women, and he can startle quite easily if a sudden sound or movement occurs near him. Quincy loves life and could teach us all to appreciate the little things. Quincy gets along with most of the cats in his foster home, and has been an entertainer of kittens, but he used to get overenthusiastic at feeding time, jumping on the other cats, occasionally getting into a boxing match. As time has gone by, this playfulness has turned less tolerable for the other cats. In turn, Quincy now gets into more spats at feeding time. However, once the dishes are down, he eats nicely next to the rest. He would be ok with other cats, but he truly would do best in a quieter home where he is the sole center of attention. Quincy's adoption fee is $75, which includes neutering, vaccinations, deworming/defleaing, testing for FEL/FIV, and microchipping.

Buddy

(Age is an estimate) BUDDY is SO sweet, SO handsome, SO energetic, SO excited, SO affectionate, SO cuddly with a human, he is a WONDERFUL boy!! He loves children (6-up) and will play very actively with them. (would be too overwhelming for young children) He is friendly to an extent with many other dogs, but some dogs can push his buttons and bring out a very ALPHA side of his personality. He is VERY strong! He needs to be the only dog in a family that is strong, active, responsible, and knows how to responsibly and courteously manage a dog who has a lot of force and strength and who has the potential to get into a fight. Buddy will be YOUR BUDDY!!! He is SO SWEET AND EARNEST, and just needs the right type of owner and family!! He is NOT a dog to "use as a guard dog", to let roam free and get into your neighbor's yard, etc. etc. etc. Buddy is a SPECIAL dog who can only have a SPECIAL owner!!

Boy George - star potential

I'm Boy George. Like my namesake, I am kind of a star: the volunteers love me, the hikers love me, even the camera loves me. So why am I still waiting for my forever home? Honestly, I'm a deep sleeper and have a strong startle reflex. I love people so much! I really want a house with people who can understand the old adage "Let sleeping dogs lie." You have to meet me: I'm pretty terrific and have a whole bunch of people rooting for me. If you make me yours, I promise you unconditional love, intuitive companionship, and lifelong loyalty. Bandit - smart & sensitive

I'm Bandit and I am a big, handsome guy with striking eyes & glistening fur with beautiful Catahoula markings. Pictures don't do me justice. I love going for car rides and always call shotgun! Sometimes I'm reserved & sometimes I'm goofy, but I'm always very smart. You can see my wheels turning as I watch whatever is going on at the rescue, so count me in if you want to share opinions. Speaking of which, my opinion on cats: I like cats but maybe in the wrong way (aka with condiments). And other dogs: I really want to be your one and only! I've been waiting a long time but I know there’s a perfect person for me out there: someone who understands about my sensitivity around my chest ever since I was bitten by a snake, who will embrace my goofiness as I race around a fenced yard, and who will patiently help me to settle in to the home that I want so much. Muneca "Doll"

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. Doll of a Husky Needs Help MUNECA 'DOLL' This is the name given to this 1 1/2 year old female Husky by her foster mom. Muneca was happy to be rescued from a condemned trailer park in San Antonio, TX It took her about 5 minutes to scoot over to us for food. She was left behind by her owner after she was hit by a car and left with extensive injuries. Of course the driver never stopped to help her and her owner did nothing to relieve her pain. Muneca meaning 'Doll' in Spanish is a very special girl. She has become accustomed to the pain in her legs and that should not be a normal thing. She is so grateful to be rescued, she never causes any problems for her foster mom and her foster brothers & sisters seem to realize Muneca needs special attention, they are gentle with her and never try to pick on her. She walks or hops or scoot but her legs remain in a squatting position as if she is pottying. She will have rods placed in her legs and cast over for a month at the minimal to try to heal the bones. The vets are optimistic that with surgery and physical therapy Muneca will be able to walk and run like a normal 4-legged dog. She is in constant pain but remains a sweet girl with no complaints. Doll will need to have surgery to repair her hip, her tail bone and cast her legs. When rescued she had a horrible case of mange, flea infestation which caused a bad skin infection. As you can see her coat is growing back nicely and she no longer itches and experiences that discomfort. An initial assessment has been made but we will keep everyone updated on her surgery date once the funds are raised, the procedure performed on her and her future outlook. Once she has healed, Muneca will be looking for her forever home. Please help donate to her recovery; she deserves a chance to be a normal dog. Doll has really been a DOLL of a dog. Please consider sharing her GoFundMe page on Facebook, Twitter or Instgram, anywhere so she can get the help she needs? gofund.me/fmhsbuhm You can see more pictures on our website: roxysk9rescue.org ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED Roxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our foster dogs are raised in private homes; . Logan

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. Calm Border Collie loves being a dog! LOGAN This crazy little boy Logan is a special one for me. His mother belonged to a family who could no longer care for them so I fed them and took care of them but they stayed with the family. Then the family tired of them and didn't want them around anymore. I got his mother spayed, his sister spayed and adopted into a wonderful home. When we reached the clinic for his surgery Logan just lost it. He was so afraid; the clinic asks me to bring him back at a later time. Well that trip spooked Logan and he would not let me touch him ever again. He ran to me when I showed up to feed him, he knew the sound of my car and he knew his name. Since he was not neutered, he traveled the streets to get with any female in heat. I'm sure Logan has several kids out there 🙂 One night Logan was experiencing some pleasure with one of his girlfriends (Ruby, also for adoption) when he was attacked by 2 vicious stray pit bulls who wanted Ruby for themselves. Logan had his testicles pulled right out by those pit bulls. So now Logan had no problem with me touching him and putting him in the car, he needed my help. His surgery went well, just a normal neutering as it turned out. He had some bite wounds on his legs but they healed well. Unfortunately Logan has heartworms and will need to have the 2 day treatment at the vet's office to get rid of them. After than Logan will be heartworm free and available for adoption. We are trying to raise funds for his surgery $400. Please consider donating towards his Heartworm treatment, no amount is too small we would very much appreciate it. You can donate on our website or directly to Callaghan Road Animal Hospital to Roxy's K-9 Rescue/Logan's Heartworm Treatment. (210) 647-1101 And of course if you would like to adopt Logan once his treatment is complete, please email me. Logan would love to have a home of his own so he can be spoiled even more. Logan came into my home as if he had always lived here, he loves some love. He is quiet, plays very well with my personal dogs and he LOVES his bed. I just laugh at him and tell him, he could have been living inside the life of luxury 2 years ago if he hadn't decided against being fixed!!!! I loved his entire family from the time I met them. His mother was extremely sweet and calm and he is just like her. Please consider sharing Logan's story with your friends, family and co-workers on Facebook, Instrgram, Twitter or any social media. Thank you. gofund.me/9sgymshg You can view more pictures of Logan on our website under the TUFF TAILS button: www.roxysk9rescue.org ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED Roxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our foster dogs are raised in foster homes. Tyson

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. Gorgeous guy blended Beagle, American Stafforshire, Bassett Hound & Lab TYSON Low Rider was his birth name because of his appearance, short legs with body very low to the ground and he is a mixture of a few different things. And boy does he have a story behind him. Tyson and his 9 siblings were born in my home after I rescued his very pregnant mother, her very pregnant daughter and another daughter just 6 months old. They had been dumped in a local park here in San Antonio, Texas. It was freezing cold and raining outside. His mother gave birth about 3 days after I got her and her daughter gave birth the very next week. A different rescue took in the pregnant daughter and the 6 month old daughter. All of the puppies came out very different but healthy and happy. You know a female dog can become impregnated by up to 7 different males and surely this is what happened to Tyson's mother Paris. Miss Paris really had a diverse group of babies!!!! Tyson was adopted out by a family with kids and even though he was raised inside my home, they kept him outside. He escaped his fence and got hit by a car. Sadly the car that hit him left him there until Animal Control Services (ACS) our city shelter picked him up very injured. He lay all evening and night in a bed of ants that bite him all over. That car really hit him hard. Thank goodness for microchips, ACS notified me that they had one of my dogs. When I went to pick up Tyson, I was shocked at his injuries. I immediately took him to my vet and he spent a week there before coming home to heal even more. Tyson endured several surgeries and he is back to being a normal dog. He is happy, friendly and loving, also very obedient. Tyson was not returned to his adoptive family because they were not able to pay the enormous vet fees for his surgeries and care. So I am trying to find the right forever home for Tyson. Tyson does run and jump, plays chase, wrestles and has no limitations. His back leg is does not bend completely because he had a steel rod in place for longer than normal to help the bones heal to prevent amputation. This is a dog with a very playful and sweet personality; he loves everyone and gets along with other dogs very well. I have attached pictures of his injuries, his mother & litter mates and current pictures of Tyson. I plan on posting a video of him soon so you can see him in action and know he has no limitations. Most of all Tyson loves kids and some human attention. He loves the camera; he weighs 37 pounds and a mixture of basset hound, beagle and who knows what else. Scooter

Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. Border Collie Male SCOOTER This guy has my respect. I pulled him from a high kill shelter in San Antonio, Texas. He was very emaciated and had a rear leg with a bone sticking out and broken in several places. Someone had abused him. But Scooter was still happy and loved to be held and his spirits had not been broken. He has been a trooper from day one, never making a sound even though he was in a lot of pain. His leg was so bad; the vet considered amputation but decided to watch the bones heal. And heal they did until he grew. The bone in one leg doesn't bend but that doesn't stop Scooter he jumps on the deck, runs upstairs to his room, plays chase with this foster brothers & sisters and gets around normally just like the other dogs. His complete medical records and x-rays will come with him at the time of adoption. Someone else named him early on but his name Scooter so deserves, he is a SCOOTER. He only barks when he is talking to you. He bounces around still like a puppy and just a very happy guy. He gets along with everyone. He runs and plays with his foster brothers and sisters and he is just a sweet dog. Scooter is 1 1/2 years old now; I got him when he was 2 months old. He weighs 47 pounds and has reached his adult height & weight. He has a beautiful black wavy coat and he does not shed. His best friend is Bradley, a bigger white border collie who only has 3 legs. Bradley was hit by a car but when he came to my house and Scooter was so small, Bradley treated Scooter as if he were his child. He cleaned him, cuddled with him and just watched over him like a mother would. It would be nice if they could go to a home together because Bradley is completely deaf and Scooter is his ears. Bradley is extremely friendly, loves to play, chases the ball and gets along with everyone. He loves his toys and belly rubs, Bradley is very gentle. Goku

***We can only adopt to North Carolina residents at this time*** Distance will be discussed if Adoption Application is approved. Goku came to us in November of 2015 as a 7 month old puppy when he was discovered to have been dumped in the backyard of an abandoned house across the street from a JPR volunteer's home. We managed to track down a handful of previous owners that this dog had in a time frame of a few short months and realized he was passed around quite a few times and went through some pretty terrible experiences as a puppy. Goku is neutered, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and heartworm negative. We prefer Goku to go to a home without cats, and one that has a fenced in yard for him to be able to let loose in. Goku would do best being a homebody with a fenced in backyard because the busy outside world can be overstimulating to him since nobody socialized him properly during his crucial socialization periods. ***We can only adopt to North Carolina residents at this time*** Distance will be discussed if Adoption Application is approved. *Jaded Paws Rescue is a 501c3 foster run organization, and we do not have a kennel facility for the general public to come and visit. We do this because we find our animals will be much more accustomed to the home environment when the time comes that they get adopted! If you'd like to meet a Jaded Paws Pet, simply email us and we can schedule a meet and greet that is compatible with your schedule. Our adoption process includes an adoption application, a meet and greet, and a 7-day adoption trial at the prospective family's home before the adoption is official. Our adoption fees are as follows: Puppies/Adults: $125 Senior dogs: $75 Cats:$50*

Ophelia

Ophelia is a beautiful, long hair, black cat. She is extremely shy and cautious. Ophelia has made great strides with her socialization and acceptance of humans. It used to be that we could barely touch her and she would hiss at us a lot. She now accepts pets and even purrs for us! Her long fur does require routine grooming and brushing because she does get matted easily, but she is a very good girl for brushings and groomings. She has always been very gentle, and has never tried to bite or swat. In a quiet home with some patience, Ophelia can continue to blossom. She may never be an interactive cat, but she has really come a long way! She also gets along great with all other cats. Her estimated date of birth is 8/10/15. **PLEASE READ CAREFULLY** If you are interested in applying for the potential adoption of this pet, and to expedite the process, please read about our adoption and shelter visitation policy on our website at www.animalserviceleagueny.org.
