Penelope Rae
Meet our little Penelope Rae! This sweet girl was part of a backyard breeding operation, and she and 51 (yes, you read that right) other Pomeranians were confiscated and ended up in a few different rescues. We were able to take in 4.... but Miss Penelope had a surprise for us.... she was pregnant!
Penelope had 3 puppies in our care, and has been an excellent mom to them! She is a spunky, funny little girl who is very active! We have been trying to teach her how to be a lap dog, and she's kinda getting the hang of it, but having never lived in a home or having much human contact til now she often chooses to just lay down on the hard floor, which we assume is all she knew living in a cage all her life. 🙁
She is learning that snuggling up on the couch is pretty nice, though! She is also learning that the bathroom is outside, and that's a work in progress that will require a little patience and diligence on her new family's part. She understands that when she's out, she goes, but hasn't mastered the art of asking to go out.. Keeping her on a schedule and watching for her cues won't be hard.
Penelope is quite adventurous, and likes to go for walks on her leash, but she also LOVES to tear around with her foster dog sister and her pups in the fenced yard at her foster home! We would prefer she goes to a home with a fenced yard to continue to enjoy her zoomies. That said, she does look for any nook or cranny and she WILL try to squirm through, so she requires supervision even when inside a fence. Not to mention with her tiny size (8-9 lbs) she should be watched to keep her safe from hawks, etc.
Penelope is in a home with cats, dogs, and a bird and she is fine with all. She is curious about them but never "hunts" or fights. She has no fear of other dogs, no matter how large, so if she gets doggy siblings they should be on the small side so she doesn't get hurt during play. Very young children would not be a great match for the same reason.
Penelope is EXTREMELY treat motivated, so we think she will be easy to train to do just about anything with some positive and yummy reinforcement! 🙂 Penelope would make a great little agility dog!
Penelope is just about done weaning her pups, and will still need to be spayed before finalizing an adoption. She is available for foster-to-adopt while she waits for her spay appointment!

Did you just catch a Pokmon? Meet the one, the only, PIKACHU!!! This girl is so sweet and cuddly. She was born in a shed/garage with her 3 sisters and brother, but that has not stopped her from living her best indoor cat life. She is great with kids, ok with dogs, and amazing with other cats. She warms up to other cats, humans, and animals super-fast, and is going to make the best forever friend EVER!
Did I mention, this girl is gorgeous! That face, with that eyeline, is TO DIE FOR! Pikachu is playful, curious, cuddly, and will make the best addition to a family with kids of any age, and established animals. She is just an easy going girly that can manage lots of chaos without skipping a beat.
