Comet STATUS: Available for adoption or foster. 10 years old Terrier Mix Adoption Donation Fee: $100 This is Comet. Comet is a challenge, but can be a very sweet loving boy once he gets accustomed to you but it takes him quite awhile to do so. He lived half of his first year secluded in a room with very little interaction from people or other animals. He is not fond of men and it takes a while for him to trust them, but he loves women and is taken to them almost immediately, children he needs to be introduced to very slowly and he will try to nip and bite at them. I do recommend him being in a home without children at all. He will need an owner that is willing to give him time to adjust and not just bring him back after a couple of hours or days because he didn't adapt immediately. He is a very special boy and will only be adopted to a home where his owner is willing to work with him. He is current on all vaccines, microchipped and neutered. He is housebroken, great with other female dogs, good with other male dogs as long as they are neutered and tends to chase cats like he is “hunting” them.

Carmela is a young medium-sized Rex rabbit. Her beautiful coat is mostly white with tan and black spots. She is a sweet rabbit who loves to have her soft nose petted. She also likes to explore her house, but her favorite thing is to relax with a nice soft blanket. Carmela is shy and would likely do best in an adult-only home. This sweet boy was pulled from death row at animal control. He and his sister didn't have much time left. Vinnie has a very kind personality, skittish at first but will warm up when he gets to know you. He is a bit frightened of being touched or held so you just have to work with his terms. He will give allow affection but, on his terms, when he is in the mood. We assume he did not receive much affection or care, if at all, but he is still just waiting on his forever home to love. Vinnie does like other dogs, loves toys, seems to be crate trained a bit. Vinnie is a great boy, with so much potential in the right home, he would probably do best in a quiet home without small children, and as he IS a flight risk and will need an experience adopter.

Update: Anne has arrived in Delaware and she's a really sweet and gentle girl. She gets along with other dogs and doesn't demand a lot of attention. She just wants to be loved and cared for. She came from a pretty bad situation where her and a lot of other dogs were being neglected and not fed enough. Anne was with her foster mom in KY for a few weeks and was able to find out that not all people are mean. She received medical care, a warm place to live, love, attention, and lots of good food to eat. Little Anne is coming to town and she’s looking for a family to love and keep her safe. Anne is about 4 years old, blind in one eye but don’t let that deter you because this kid moves around just like any other full sighted dog. Anne is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, wormed, heartworm negative and microchipped. Once Anne settles in with her foster family, we will report back with more information and pictures. Il ne faut pas avoir peur de se faire mordre, puisque si quelque chose ne lui convient pas, elle nous le fera savoir en mordillant. Elle cherche toutefois beaucoup d'attention, adore venir se coucher sur nos genoux et aime jouer avec nous. Athéna apprécie les caresses sur la tête lorsqu'on sait comment s'y prendre, mais ce n'est pas une chatte facilement manipulable qui pourra être tenue dans les bras. Bref, c’est une petite Lionne pour quelqu'un qui connait bien les chats et qui est capable de la prendre comme elle est. En raison de son caractère de princesse, elle ne sera pas placée avec des enfants et idéalement pas d'autres animaux non plus, car elle cohabite avec eux, mais ne les aime pas vraiment (si vous avez juste un animal et une grande maison elle pourrait s'y faire sans problème). Ce serait un beau geste d'offrir à cette chatte la chance d'avoir une maison, elle le mérite elle aussi!
