Maeve

Top o’ the morn to ye! I’m Maeve; my name is indeed Irish. It means “intoxicating” or “she who rules.” In Irish mythology, Maeve is sometimes known as the Goddess of Love and Desire. After all of that, do I really need to say more? Meow! Okay, here’s more: I’m a dilute tortoiseshell young adult female who came here with four other cats from another rescue. Coming into a new situation made me feel wary. I acted feisty at first, but now that I have had some time to settle in, I am feeling more relaxed. I like being petted on my own terms, and I like to play. Once we’ve established that we’re friends, we’ll get along just dandy, I’m sure! For the person who desires their very own feline goddess of love, I’m sure to provide hours of intoxicating fun and delight! I hope you’ll let Maeve into your life! Chug 6952

Chug and his best friend Sadie had lived with a woman who unexpectedly passed away, leaving them and two other canine companions alone and forgotten. Thankfully, they were all rescued and are being given loving care by the Humane Society volunteers. Chug is a pug-chihuahua mix which is sometimes referred to as a “pughuahua” or “pugwawa” but is most commonly called, fittingly for our new friend, Chug. He and his adoptive sister are both senior canines but are amazingly active, spry, and filled with a contented, joyful energy. Chug closely followed the paparazzo about the bark park with his characteristic toothy grin which at times may appear argumentative but is totally friendship driven. His bark park exploration was filled with daring dashes between the world of sniffs and the human and his friend Sadie. Chug has a “just want to be close” persona and a wonderful desire to please his human. Chug walks politely on leash, takes treats responsively, and is nicely house trained. Chug and Sadie have been together for many years, and they are hoping for a loving home where they can continue to enjoy each other’s company. Come on down to the Humane Society for Animals in Rogers, AR, and join them in a fun-filled bark park adventure. Both buddies are well-adjusted canines who are the perfect example of true friendship.

He is potty trained and will either sit by door or bark at it when comfortable. He is not a fan of other dogs. Not aggressive just not interested and will growl. Will co exist if necessary. Smart and adorable. Wants to be by his humans and from being raised by and older gentleman knows not to jump on furniture and stay in his own bed. He loves treats and is food motivated. If you’d like to meet this little boy, please follow the instructions below. ——————————————————- The adoption donation for Toby is $250. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered if appropriate for their age, microchipped, current on vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention (age appropriate). If you would like to meet this dog, you must have an approved application on file and be willing to travel to the Aurora/Ravenna, Portage County, Ohio area for a meet and greet. All of our dogs reside in foster homes. We do not have a physical shelter. Applications will be reviewed/approved and each dog will be placed in the home that can best meet their individual need. Beckman

Beckman is about 14 weeks old and ready for a home to call his very own! This good boy enjoys playing with other pups and loves all the nice people that he meets! His mommy is a pure bred German Shepherd (now spayed so that this doesn't happen again) and daddy is ???? Beckman Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Pip & Smithy - Best Friends

Meet Pip and Smithy Pip and Smithy’s backstory: Pip and Smithy were dropped off at an overcapacity animal control facility. We were asked to get them out asap to help them. Their former owners did not have time for them anymore. The boys lived together and have an undeniable bond. They are ready for a committed family to love them both for the rest of their lives! Breed and Hair Notes: Both Pip and Smithy have hair that grows and not fur. They are both Poodle and Shih Tzu blends, though they look more much more than dogs. A blend of bear, monkey, human, and dog. They are so expressive and have such soulful looks and expressions. PLEASE NOTE: Their hair will grow indefinitely, and they will need professional grooming every 4-6 weeks. Only apply if you understand the additional maintenance and cost that these dear hair-not-fur souls need and are willing to commit to life for such care. Get to Know Pip and Smithy: Pip: age: 1 weight: 11 pounds neutered: yes rabies vaccine: yes distemper vaccine: yes bordetella vaccine: yes flea and tick prevention: yes heart worm test: yes, negative fecal test: yes, negative de-wormer treatment: yes potty trained: yes Smithy: age: 2-3 weight: 19 neutered: yes rabies vaccine: yes distemper vaccine: yes bordetella vaccine: yes flea and tick prevention: yes heart worm test: yes, negative fecal test: yes, negative de-wormer treatment: yes potty trained: yes They were both just professionally groomed, and the groomer said they were very well behaved and sweet. Adoption fee: $1,000 for the pair. This is to cover the expense of saving lives that our 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue incurs. Pip and Smithy are a bonded pair, and they will only be adopted to a family who promises to keep them together. They have endured a lot of upset in their lives recently, and they clearly need one another to make it through. They are best friends. We all need best friends, and we owe it to them to keep them together for the rest of their lives. Their connection is a joy to see. They play together often. They are now here in our sanctuary, learning some basics in clicker training and how to walk on a leash. They adapt quickly and easily. Ideal Home: They are especially in need of connecting with a person and a family. They seek attention throughout the day and want to be by humans who are kind and loving to them. If you need to leave them for short periods of time, they can handle it because they have one another. Kongs and puzzles are key to keeping them happy while you leave the home. A family who works from home or is only away for short periods of time is ideal. At night, plan on sharing your sofa with them as you relax. They want to cuddle and sleep through the night with humans, too. In short, Pip and Smithy will flourish in a home where they can hang out with their people during the day and sleep near or with them at night. Pip and Smithy are young and full of life, though they are beyond the puppy energy stage -- a wonderful bonus! They will require a fenced-in yard for playing and running, a nearby small dog park, and/or someone who will give them daily walks. The rest of the time, expect them to be very laidback and nap while you're working. They would enjoy older and respectful children, too. If they sound like the sweetest pair, it’s because they are. You’ll have double the joy with these incredibly sweet and loving pair!

Watson 6950

Watson has an innate ability to look at you with a transcendent smile that voices his inner strength of character. It is not boisterous nor egotistic nor grandiose but profoundly kind and gentle with a sensitivity that speaks of the gift of unconditional love that is the hallmark of the canines. One-year-old Watson received his name in response to his bark park escapades which seemed to match the role of Sherlock Holmes’ devoted associate. Watson would assume thought-provoking poses in response to the photographer’s queries, checking out the hot dog clues under the park bench and pausing watchfully in absolute stillness under the cover of the prairie florae, and then providing comic relief with a heart-warming smile that lets you know that above all, you are a consummate friend. You will be amazed at Watson’s warmth of spirit that provides the essential core of the human/canine connection. Watson will be the most devoted friend you will ever find on this planet. .
