Pencil

Please contact Kristin (cats@arrcolorado.org) for more information about this pet. Pencil needs a very special adopter or foster (if you foster her through ARR, all of her medical expenses are covered - otherwise, her adoption fee is waived). Please consider being a hero for this sweet and very affectionate girl! Pencil is *technically* a hospice cat as she has mast cell disease that has progressed to her liver and lymph nodes. I (her current foster) took her as a hospice with the expectation that she would live 6 months or less. Well, 7 months later, Pencil is thriving and is not acting at all like a hospice cat! She could have months or years left. She has a great appetite and shows no signs of declining. Her favorite thing is to snuggle. She will lie on your chest, make biscuits on your shoulders, and drool if she's really happy. She's an absolute lovebug! The only reason I want to find another home for her is that Pencil REALLY does not like other cats. None of ARR's fosters are cat-less (shocker, I know), and since Pencil is doing so well, I'm hoping to find someone who wants to provide her with an amazing, cat-free hospice home. Pencil is a bit of a bully with other cats and wants to fight with them, so she's spending a lot of her time by herself in a separate room. I'd love nothing more for her than to have a home where she gets tons of human affection. She is totally fine with dogs and would be good with little kids too. Honestly, she would probably be fine with a really docile cat who isn't that interested in interacting with her. She just REALLY doesn't like other cats in her personal bubble. I know providing hospice care sounds daunting, but it is truly a rewarding experience to provide a cat with a loving, safe place as they decline. I am happy to personally be a hospice mentor to anyone who adopts or fosters Pencil. If you would like to chat more about Pencil, please feel free to email me at beth.c.sager@gmail.com. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask that you fill out an adoption application form so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application we receive and will contact you as quickly as possible. A home visit will be scheduled before any pet is adopted to a new home. Once a home visit has taken place and the adoption application has been approved, we will ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement form. Our adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter, veterinary exams, vaccinations, microchipping, and foster care. Highly requested breeds help cover the vet costs incurred by some of our other cats, enabling us to save more lives! $300 for purebred/highly requested kittens, 6 months or younger, such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coon mixes. These 'guardian kittens' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for purebred/highly requested cats older than 6 months such as Siamese mixes, Maine Coone mixes. These 'guardian cats' help support our rescue work by covering vet costs for other kittens. $200 for kittens (6 months & under) $125 for cats (older than 6 months) $75 for senior cats (8 years or older) If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application here . We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email cats@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. PLEASE NOTE: The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter. Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets. Here is some interesting info on breed identification: https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online. We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting. Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member!

Maddox (Courtesy)

Maddox would love to be your buddy! At 4 years old and 56 pounds, Maddox has a puppy-like spirit. He is super sweet and silly , and wiggles his whole body when he's happy. Look into his beautiful hazel eyes and you will see he is eager to be loved. Maddox gets along great with other dogs and people. He would do best in a home with no children or older children, and no cats. He is house trained and knows many commands including "sit", "lay down", "down", "stay", "come", even "high five" and "roll over"! Maddox loves playing ball or frisbee and getting out on an adventure, but can also have a chill day with no complaints. He is food motivated and very loyal. Please contact Michelle at michellert269@gmail.com for more information. This dog is a courtesy listing and not one of our dogs. Please contact the email listed in this post.
