Leo

Leo is a shelter favorite because of his low key desire to just be loved. Though he has little interest in toys, he uses his energy, instead, to shadow his human as they go about their business, always hoping for a butt scratch. He knows basic commands, loves to go on walks, and is great on a leash. Leo will require a fenced-in yard, with at least a 6 ft fence - he's a jumper !!! Leo wishes to be the only pet (no dogs/cats) and would prefer larger children (8+) that will give him space when he wants to nap in the sunshine.

Willard

Are you looking for a Robin to your Batman? Someone ready to heed the call for any mission on the horizon, who will not rest as long as there is an adventure to be had?! Are you a fan of dogs that love exercise, structure, work, and games? If this sounds like someone you've been looking for, you may not need to look any further... This incredibly handsome, intelligent boy is Willard, and he is looking for his forever home. Willard is a very active, smart, blue-collar type of guy who would thrive in an environment that can keep his brain and body busy. An ideal home for Willard will be one that can provide him with activities that satisfy all of his instinctual needs and has experience with highly driven herding dogs. Willard is a country boy at heart so he'd love a big space to play in and to not be bothered by the hectic city life. Because of his strong instinctual need to herd objects or people in motion, we do not recommend a home with other pets or children. Willard would love to have hoomans of his own who will interact with him daily, cuddle with him, and give him plenty of enrichment to keep his mind busy and his body active (and keep him out of trouble from boredom). As we've mentioned before, Willard is pretty much a genius. He's a hard-working boy and he is so smart, eager to learn, and full of potential. This boy also loves to learn and can master tricks in a blink of an eye! Willard is ready for a long-term commitment and is hoping to find someone looking for the same. He is very affectionate, playful, goofy, athletic, loyal, and ready to find a home and family to call his own. These processing fees are determined by the form of payment adopters decide to use. By helping with this minimal cost this allows us to save more animals. Please note that SNARR NE is a volunteer-based organization. While our volunteers will try to respond to you as quickly as possible, it is helpful if you review the below information about our adoption process before emailing: LISTED BREED(S) & AGE: We are taking our best guess on age, breed, and size when fully grown, based on the puppy's/dog's physical appearance and what we might have learned about one or both parents depending on the situation. *NOTE* We rarely know a dog's exact age, nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. Because we often do not have access to medical records at the time that we are listing for dogs for adoption, there are sometimes discrepancies between what is posted on their profile and what might be listed on a dog's medical records. SNARR'S ADOPTION PROCESS: The first step in adopting or meeting a SNARR dog/puppy is to fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/. Once we receive your application, one of our adoption application processors will contact you, review our adoption process with you, and answer any additional questions you may have. **We do not go on a first-come-first-serve basis for adoptions, but on best fit for a family and most importantly the puppy or dog. ** MEETING ADOPTABLE DOGS: Meet and greets will not be scheduled until after your adoption application has been fully processed and approved by one of our adoption processors. APPLYING ONLINE: If you fill out an online application, please do so from a computer (not a mobile device), make sure you answer ALL the questions in as much detail as possible, and that you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive a confirmation email, that means we did NOT receive your application.

Titus T

We are so happy to welcome Titus T to our Thulani family. Titus is an affectionate boy who is learning to enjoy the luxury of foster life. Titus was surrendered to a local LA shelter after being left alone in a chain link yard neglected and having to fend for himself. The shelter neutered him and removed a mass from his neck before he found his way to Thulani. He is now settling into his foster home where he is receiving much needed love and attention as we learn more about him. UPDATE: Titus has settled nicely into his foster home. It took him a week or two to get settled because he is blind and needed to learn the layout of his new surroundings. He is a very laid back boy. He loves people and other dogs, calmly greeting them with a wagging tail and sniffs. He does well with the teens in the foster home as well as a younger child who visits. Titus likes to take short, slow walks and is a model citizen on a leash. He has access to the backyard throughout the day, but he likes to sleep on his soft pillow in the house. He is very relaxed, eager to please boy who enjoys chewing on toys if he isn't napping. Titus is eager to find his forever family. Titus T Summary: - Titus is a neutered male, 10 yrs old, weighs 64 lbs, current on shots - Good with Adults, kids, dogs, and travel in the car - Cats TBD - Located in Southern California Titus passed a set of behavior tests before being accepted into the TSGSR. The tests are not intended to assess how smart the dog is but are important for TSGSR to determine if the dog is expected to be safe in a family home. The tested behaviors check to see if the dog will guard or protect food or toys from people, will tolerate handling all over its body (including ears, nose, lips to check teeth, lifting paws, belly, back, and gently pulling the tail) and the ability to get along with other well behaved dogs. Titus remained calm during all of these tests and showed no aggressive tendencies. What's Next for Titus T: Thulani Senior German Shepherd Rescue (TSGSR) will continue to see that he is well cared for. He will come to your home with a supply of food, a cushy pad if wanted, and other goodies such as toys. If you want to learn more about Titus, or are possibly interested in providing an adoptive home, please send us a message by clicking on the "Ask About Me". If you would like to help Thulani save more dogs like him, please consider setting up a monthly donation for dog care and Donate Online Through PayPal Saving one dog won't change the world. Duncan

*No apartments/townhouse/condos *Home ownership, House with attached yard and secure 6’ fencing required. Meet DUNCAN This beautiful boy was brought to the local shelter after being found running very scared in a park. Sadly, it seems no owner was looking for him, so DUNCAN ended up being at the shelter for a while. He completely shut down and was not doing well or showing well to potential adopters. We were asked by shelter staff to help him and were happy to do so! DUNCAN is approximately 2 yrs of age, about 55-60 lbs. He looks to be mostly Boxer mixed with ?? DUNCAN has been making good progress since has been with us! He is a shy and fearful boy who lacks confidence and socialization. He can be leery of strangers but will accept treats and gentle pets. DUNCAN does not have a mean bone in his body, and while his eyes and facial expression may give pause to strangers, he has absolutely no aggression. He is being fostered on a ranch and has actually been very curious and brave around the horses in pasture. He has been doing well and likes going on his leash walks in the rural country setting. Loud noises, bustling activity are a bit much for him, so he will do better in a more low key home. DUNCAN is crate trained, and seems to be mostly housetrained. He is now playing with toys, and doing a little fetch. (Although he doesn’t bring the toy back always!) lol He LOVES playing tug with rope toys and will engage with chase and fun with his foster mom. DUNCAN has been great with meeting other dogs. He likes being around the other dogs and has gained much confidence being fostered in a pack of dogs. He is playful with the other dogs, but will also just hang out and watch the others play too. DUNCAN has not been cat tested yet. Due to his lack of exposure to children and needing a calmer atmosphere, DUNCAN is best suited for a home with adults and older children. DUNCAN’S adoption fee is $400 which includes health examination, current vaccinations, neuter, microchip, flea and deworming treatment along with any other medical or dental deemed necessary by our veterinarian.
