All applications must be completed in entirety to be considered. Our adoption fee is $495.00 and includes your dog's spay/neuter, UTD vaccines and deworming that are age appropriate, rabies and microchip. Meet and greets are only scheduled with an approved application, and no application will be processed if incomplete. You must fill out an application to help achieve our goal of finding permanent, responsible and loving homes for the animals in our care. Applications are not approved on a first come first served basis, but on which home is best suited for the animal. L.A.R. is a foster based rescue out of Orangeburg County, SC and does not have a physical shelter. We rely solely upon adoption fees and donations to continue our mission to rescuing the abused, abandoned and neglected animals of our communities.

Hello everyone! My name is Bo, and I am a lab mix who is looking for a loving home. I used to have a brother, Duke, who was adopted, leaving me behind. I've been at Victoria County Animal Services since August of 2023 and I'm just so lonely and sad without my best friend. I really just want a family to call my own again. I miss my brother Duke a lot, but I know he must be happy and I do believe there's a family out there that will give me the love and care I need. Maltese Milo was a beloved member of a family who made the big decision to surrender him, due to their youngest child having allergic reactions to his saliva. In the same home since six weeks old, he was the centre of their lives until children arrived. Sadly no one in their immediate circle could take him so HTDR agreed to help this deserving boy. He arrived scared and nervous but soon settled well into his foster family. Milo hadn't been vetted in five years and needed a major groom, so notice the before and after. After a recent groom, followed by an assessment with one of our amazing partner vets, Milo is now feeling so much better. He desperately needs a dental and that is the first surgery booked, and three weeks later, he will be neutered. Despite all this, the ear infection and mouth discomfort, MM wags his tail and shows plenty of love to anyone who looks his way. His fosters say he is the sweetest and will make his new family extremely happy. Being a small dog, his age isn't a concern as he is just entering his middle years. MM has plenty of life left in him and is an eager walker and good with the fosters cat as well as all the other dogs he meets in his neighbourhood.
