- Will need some puppy training. Please keep that in mind if you want a puppy. They require time and patience to be the best that they can be!
- Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.
There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.
To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.
**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**
The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-3:30 BUT our adoptions are done 7 days a week from 10:30am -3:00pm.
The last potential adopter must arrive before 3:00 pm so we have time to properly help you before closing.

Bella
Bella came into our rescue after one of our fosters found her running on a busy street in Charlotte. Fortunately, she had a chip! Unfortunately, her owners never came for her. We are determined to make Bella’s next home her best home!
Bella is estimated to be about 3 years old and is about 50 pounds. She’s a tall, lean girl! She loves people, other dogs and even cats (can get really excited around cats but nothing aggressive). Bella is really food motivated and has been able to pick up on a few commands after being in foster for only 2 weeks.

Meet Deglet Noor, the sweetest guy! He does well with kids but hasn't met any kids under 5 yet and he gets along good other dogs. Overall has a mellow demeanor and loves to be loved... pets, scratches, belly rubs all of it. How could you resist this cross eyed baby! He currently lives at our shelter in Fort Lupton and can't wait to find his forever home.

This precious pug mix is ready to find his forever home. He made fast friends with the dogs & cats at his foster home & he absolutely adores people. He has a very sweet, friendly disposition.?
Bradley was very underweight & covered in ticks when he first arrived. After lots of TLC from his foster mom, vet care, & some nutritious food in his belly, Bradley is feeling better each day. He's gaining weight & confidence. He absolutely loves spending time outside.? He's not much of a barker. He's used to sleeping in a crate & he's housetrained.
Bradley weighs about 20 lbs & he's a young adult. He's been neutered, vaccinated & heartworm tested negative. He has the SWEETEST face & a cute nub tail. He looks like a tiny boxer.?

I don’t chase them since that’s not how you make friends! I currently live with 2 larger foster siblings and I have met the neighbor dog who is smaller than me and did great!
