Happy tails to these three former bottle babies. P Happy tails to these three former bottle babies. Pablo, Petra, and Gunnar were born outside near Seward Park. After their mom ran off and avoided being trapped, they were brought inside to have a chance at indoor life. Their foster couldn’t help but fall in love with them and add them to their family. Their foster says every time they look at them, they can’t believe how lucky they are to have all three of them in their lives. 🖤 🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛ 🖤
We are blown away by this incredible donation — We are blown away by this incredible donation — more than 2,200 pounds of Weruva cat food, generously donated by our amazing friends at @AllTheBestPetCare @weruva. This will keep so many bellies full and happy, like Zara in the last slide demonstrates.

Thank you for supporting our mission and helping cats in need thrive! Big thanks to all the volunteers who stepped up to help load, transport and store these!

🌸 Happy First Day of Spring! 🌸 SPRING is he 🌸 Happy First Day of Spring! 🌸

SPRING is here and the kittens understood the assignment. Swipe for maximum cuteness! 💖

The long, dreary winter is behind us, and with the Spring Equinox, we embrace fresh beginnings, longer days, and the renewed energy of a new season.

As the world awakens, so does kitten season (though some days, it feels like it never ends!). Shelters and rescues are preparing for an influx of tiny paws in need of care, nourishment, and the chance to find loving homes. Now is the perfect time to support your local animal shelters however you can—every bit helps during this busy season.

Here’s to brighter days, fresh starts, and a season filled with hope—for us and for the cats!

Featuring: Zara, Ivy, Kai, Noorie and Lizzie(Mom)

We got a call about an aggressive, unneutered Tom We got a call about an aggressive, unneutered Tom that was terrorizing a controlled colony of cats at a neighborhood feeding location. He was chasing all the other cats away from the food and starting fights.
After a few hours of waiting for him to go into the trap we realized he was picky about the food options in the traps and had to get a stronger smelling bait. Fried chicken did the trick and within five minutes he was trapped and ready for his neuter surgery.
After recovering from surgery, he was released back to the site he knows, but hopefully we have turned that cat colony into a cat commune and his fighting days are over.
Peter was the last kitten of a litter of five wait Peter was the last kitten of a litter of five waiting to be adopted out from ACP. His high level of playfulness made it obvious that he needed another kitten friend to thrive. Luckily his wonderful adopter Katrina had just such a kitten friend who had been adopted the month before from a llama farm in Montana. Geoff, who is the chill cohort to his crazy new brother Peter 😸✨

Meet Mama Lizzie! Although she was scheduled for Meet Mama Lizzie!

Although she was scheduled for a spay abort at the clinic today, she surprised us by going into labor last night. Let’s talk about spay aborts and debunk some common misconceptions:

* Myth: Allowing a cat to have multiple litters is completely natural and harmless.
Fact: Frequent pregnancies can put severe stress on a cat’s body, leading to infections, complications, and long-term health issues—spay aborts help protect her health while addressing overpopulation concerns.
* Myth: Female cats are naturally excited about motherhood—they crave having a litter and would be devastated by a spay abort.
Fact: In reality, cats don’t experience emotions like humans. Their focus is on survival—securing food, shelter, and warmth.
* Myth: It’s unsafe to perform a spay abort on a cat in late-term pregnancy.
Fact: As long as the cat isn’t in active labor, spay aborts are safe and healthy at any stage of gestation. In some cases where labor complications arise, a spay abort may even be necessary to save the cat’s life.
* Myth: Kittens born into a rescue environment will automatically thrive, ensuring a safe future for both the mama and her kittens.
Fact: While rescues generally provide better care than the outdoors, both the mother and her kittens remain vulnerable to illness, stress, and other complications—making proactive measures like spay aborts essential for their long-term well-being.

Lizzie is just starting her motherhood journey, and she’s already proving to be a great mama to her four adorable kittens—even though we wish she never had to face motherhood.

Tales From the Traps for #furriday - Here's anothe Tales From the Traps for #furriday - Here's another kitty we have been keeping an eye on, which we were finally able to secure on Tuesday evening. He was spotted hanging around Haller Lake with a huge mat on his back that he could not groom at all. We checked with neighbors and they reported seeing him around, but didn't know of an owner. We began feeding him for a few weeks to keep him in one area, and finally trapped him with a neighbor's help.

Turns out he is 5 years old, 13.5lbs, was not neutered, with no microchip. He has now gotten a much-needed back shave, vaccines, neuter surgery, and is now recovering with one of our dedicated volunteers. Name is TBD so feel free to suggest any :) #catsofseattle #feraltofriendly #catrescue #alleycat #communitycats #seattlecatrescue
