Marmalade

Hi! Someone dumped me with a colony of feral cats and let me tell you that's just no place for a gentleman like myself! I don't quite know how they got confused about that! So some great people came to my rescue quite literally and got me away from that street life. Since I am such a refined gentleman of course I use the litter box at all times and spend a large portion of my day catching up on my beauty rest! I'm looking for a furever friend who would love to hang out and rub my chin (no belly rubs please and my feet are ticklish so let's just keep it simple).

Bear-Bear is a big, beautiful two-year-old male Akita who has a heart as large as his size. Despite his past, Bear-Bear is a big, happy fellow who adores playtime and running around, making a secured backyard the ideal space for him. If you're looking for a loyal companion to train, exercise, and share unforgettable moments with, Bear-Bear is your perfect match! Previous experience with the Akita breed is preferred. Baby

This guy has been in foster care for over four years and just wants to find a family to love him for the rest of his life. He spent all of his life chained up in a pen, suffering the hot, cold, little food, worms, fleas, and flies, never knowing what it was like to be loved! Graygray

This handsome 8 year old boy has been through a lot recently. He was taken in as a stray, but his rescuer became sick and had to move and leave him alone with a caregiver coming in. The caregiver found him a good home, but after only 8 months his new owner passed away and Graygray was taken to a shelter by the police. His former caregiver heard about it and pulled him from the shelter where he was at risk of euthanasia. Back to the empty house he went, while his caregiver searched for rescue. Now Graygray is with ALI. He has a foster lined up to house him but he needs a Forever Home, he’s been through so much already! Graygray is sweet and affectionate but a little shy until he gets to know you. He has FIV but is healthy, and cats with FIV can live normal lives with a little extra care. Help us find Graygray’s happy ending!

Tupelo

Meet Tupelo - an approximately 2 year old kitty! Tupelo was found as a feral kitten, and can be a little skittish when it comes to new humans/new situations. He has serious potential to continue to blossom into a wonderful kitty in the right home. He has come to seek out/enjoy attention & affection from his foster mom, but it did take some time. This little guy loves to play with toys, and his friend Tori. We often find the two of them cuddled together in their cat tower. We would love to send him to a new home with his buddy Tori, but it's not necessarily a requirement. He has the potential to acclimate to life with a cat-savvy laid-back dog. He likes to play with other kitties, and with toys. We are ideally looking for a cat-savvy person (someone with shy kitty experience!) to help this little guy continue to blossom. Tupelo comes neutered, microchipped, Felv/FIV negative and current on vaccinations & vetting. He's on the hunt for an indoor only home. If you're interested in applying to adopt this wonderful guy, please Email fortheloveofgsd@gmail.com for an application! ***We ARE NOT Attleboro Animal Shelter - please DO NOT call or contact Attleboro Animal Shelter about any kitties listed on our site. We are a strictly foster-based group. We will only schedule meet & greets once an application has been approved for that specific kitty. Please note - we often receive multiple applications back on our cats (especially the kittens), so submitting an application doesn't guarantee an adoption. We will keep cats listed until they are adopted, as pending adoptions occasionally fall through - so keep in mind, just because a cat is listed, they may or may not have pending applications or pending adoptions.

Phineas

I'm Phineas - a 2.5 year old pit bull mix. I'm a big floppy puppy at 80 pounds, but don't worry- I've been told I have nice manners. I went to training school and learned all kinds of basic commands, how to walk nicely on leash and how to love my crate. I like to hangout in the sun and I do well with other large dogsjust ask my four legged foster sister! I can be a stubborn boy, so I'll do best in a home that will give me boundaries and structure, and one without children. I can't wait to be someone's forever buddy! I'm healthy, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in adoption, please submit an adoption application: http://www.wagsandwalks.org/adoption-application

Freebie Ouderkirk

In Memory of Papa Ouderkirk 'I have always had a huge heart for all animals, but especially cats. We even adopted two cats from Joyful Rescues: Leia and Lucy. Lucy is actually one of the cats that came from a transport, and when I saw how small and weak, she was, as well how she always scarfed down every meal as if it would be her last, I felt terrible for her. I would like to name this transport "The Papa Ouderkirk Memorial Transport" in memory of my grandfather, who passed away in 2019 due to lung cancer he was a lover of cats as well'. - Christianna Reynolds Freebie was born around August 04, 2019 and weighs about 20 pounds. It seems Freebie came from a puppy mill or backyard breeding situation. She ADORES other dogs and is happy and playful with them. Freebie wants to love us humans and will walk up to us but runs in fear when we try to touch her. Freebie has never been aggressive to human touch just extremely fearful. Freebie must have a secure fenced in yard and another playful well socialized dog in her next home. It is going to take some work and patience to show Freebie that humans are wonderful but the outcome will be well worth it for you and for Freebie . Please do some reading on working with mill dogs before applying to adopt Freebie. Update: Still no human has touched this girl, but she will come within a few feet of the human she sees the most. When she gets near I smile, wave, and say her name and she wags her tail, but will run immediately if I move toward her. I'll keep working on it. She does use the dog door freely and does come into the TV room with the other dogs and two humans in the evening, but she looks around, plays with another dog and then she is off doing more dog things. Freebie does shed. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $450.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a 'complete' pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption. Can't Adopt Me? Berto

Hey there! I'm Berto! Please pardon the mud on my face, the goofball that takes care of me saw a photo op but didn’t have a towel to wipe me down. Some people, I swear. My (3) brothers and I were found in a ditch as puppies; the kind people at ARFhouse took us in and gave us a place to live while we look for our forever homes! I've been at the sanctuary for over 3 years now and I am very anxious for a family of my own. I am approximately 4 years old, 61 lbs. and they say I am some sort of Beagle/Hound mix. Heck, I could be a lot of things! I am a super sweet and playful guy; I get along great with other dogs and I love to play! I am unsure of myself sometimes and new places scare me a little. I need some training, basic manners and leash training (nothing crazy!). I am good with other dogs, love to run, play, wrestle and I LOVE the water!! I will need a fenced yard for exercise and play time and I would love a home with a four-legged companion. It might take me a little bit to adjust to my new home as I've been at the rescue for over 3 years, but I promise once I'm used to being part of a family, I will make a wonderful family member! The fee to adopt Berto is $200.00; this includes spay/neuter, de-worming, vaccinations and a microchip. If you are interested in adopting Berto, please visit our website. www.arfhouse.org and fill out an adoption application. **Please Note: Berto is currently located at our facility in Sherman, Texas. Adoptions are BY-APPOINTMENT ONLY; if you would like to meet Berto, please fill out an application on our website. If approved, we will contact you within 48 hours to set up a time to meet Berto.
