Lacey

Beautiful, loving, gentle Lacey came to us from the streets of Mexicali. She is about 2 years old and one of the sweetest and most lovable dogs you will ever meet. If you love big dogs (weighs 58 pounds) and don't mind loads of dog hair, this is your girl. We receive many dogs, but few as special as this girl.

Sassy Samantha

Samantha (Sammy for short) appeared on a cold January 2021 day. She was cold, hungry and pregnant. She gave birth to 6 lovely little kittens who have been adopted. It is now HER turn to be adopted. Sammy is fiv/felv negative and has been spayed and vaccinated. She is guessed to have been just about a year old when rescued. She has experienced too much for a young kitty and now needs to be someone's princess. Are you her human?! She is in a home with other kitties. We think she would prefer to be your princess as your only kitty. Right now, she will swat at the other kitties. We think she is just never sure where her next meal will be and endured too much on those harsh streets. Can you find it in your heart to give her a chance?! If you are interested in adopting Sammy, please email us with your phone number at info@tlcrescue.org or leave a message at 914-713-8649. Thank you for wanting to save a life!

BEE (seeking sponsors)

2nd update April 2022-BEE has had a set back. He's still a warrior though. BEE was diagnosed with Calicivirus. Most likely he's had Calici all along however it was dormant. Poor BEE, he's been struggling on and off with so many issues. we fear this newest issue is hard on his tiny body. Think good thoughts for BEE while try to do what we can get him stronger once again. Update April 2022 ~ BEE is an interesting character, a wise old man. BEE had another dental cleaning and three more extractions. He is back on prednisone. After finishing a round of antibiotics he continues to have some wheezing. He was taken for a mouth swab in hopes we get a handle on what is causing him to wheeze. BEE's appetite is off and on. He hasn't lost weight which is good. BEE lost his roommate Samantha. She was a beautiful tabby, about 16 years old or so. She was with BEE for only a very short time, however there isn't a rule for falling in love and BEE loved her. See Fauna's facebook page or email us for photos, your heart will melt. BEE is still available for adoption or fostering. PS: we just celebrated the one year anniversary of BEE being rescued from death row at the shelter! WAY TO GO BEE!! Update Jan 2022- A thank you to the people who have sent a little love BEE's way. All of the donations you send to sponsor BEE go 100% towards his care. If you want to send your email address to : thefaunafoundation@yahoo.com I'd be happy to send you updates about BEE on a regular basis. A sponsorship donation comes in for BEE we'd truly like to acknowledge your gift. He's a special boy and we are overwhelmed by the support for BEE. Kind words and thoughts are what truly makes a difference. Photo update- changed out one of the photos to show BEE after a bath! He actually loves getting a bath and is always spunky and energetic afterwards. BEE, he knows exactly what he wants! The other day he decided he'll now let his foster mom know exactly where to pet him, he gently tapped her hand when she stopped petting his head and was petting his body, he then meowed his order-"start petting my head again!" BEE LOVES to be combed or brushed. He's a mighty strong PURR monster. We can see he's getting older, he's still fighting-some days he'll eat 2 1/2 5 oz cans of food, or more! With BEE there is always something new happening, we now think he might have a chicken allergy-to avoid another vet visit-he doesn't like going but once he's there he's as good as gold-we've started focusing on beef as his protein source. We know that seafood causes BEE tummy upsets. Chicken might be a problem or he was having an off day. BEE's foster mom works from home so BEE gets a lot of attention, he's happy to be an office supervisor. BEE is still available for adoption or long-term foster to the right home. UPDATE: if you've been following BEE, you might be interested to know BEE did have a teeth cleaning and three extractions, all of this was preformed under light sedation. BEE is very elderly and faces a few challenges health wise so we are taking a very conservative approach to his teeth/mouth issues. We are putting BEE back on metronidazole. Currently he's become picky about his food. One day only baby food, then he'll eat only kitten food for several days, then prescription food, then only Fancy Feast Chicken and Liver pate. That guy!! He just keeps us guessing. BEE!!! He's an amazing cat. Very friendly and super relaxed. He only wants to sit in your lap and get loves. Bee was rescued 15 minutes before he was scheduled to be euthanized at a local shelter. Something about this guy pulled at our heartstrings and we raced off to save him. And we haven't regretted for a minute coming to his rescue. Bee was suffering from chronic diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy and breathing problems. His initial exams with our vets indicate he has inflamed intestines, some dental/mouth issues and possibly some skin issues, however the inflammation has decreased since he's been in our care. Due to the medication he's on Bee no longer is vomiting and his bowel movements are now normal. Bee's blood has come back pretty good- no diabetes, no kidney disease. However he does have high globulin , might be due to his bad teeth. We hope once his bad teeth are removed his next blood panel will show excellent results. Bee LOVES attention, he likes to sit or lay in your lap and get lots of loves. He's an explorer. Bee likes long naps. Bee has meet other kitties in his foster home and hasn't shown any aggressive behavior-simply curiosity. BEE loves to play with toys, more than anything BEE loves attention! He has hearty appetite as well. We'd love a foster or adopter who would be able to keep on top of Bee's treatment plan. The love he still has to give is so worth the effort. When we took Bee in he was in terrible shape, however he has a warrior spirit and has been working on getting healthier and stronger day by day. He continues to surprise us with the beast within him that just wants to live a normal cat life. PS: he loves to lay in the sun so if you have a room which receives a lot of sun during day, especially a wide swath where BEE could have a bed or blanket and enjoy the warmth, we know BEE would be very content.

Chance

Chance is a two-year-old Shepherd Collie mix. This handsome boy was an owner surrender. When they could no longer care for him they gave him up. He was in a home with two kids. Chance LOVES other dogs and is great with people he knows. He is not good with strangers and cannot go to a home that has people coming in and out. He loves to go for walks, playing with squeaky toys, other dogs and jumping in his baby pool for a dip on hot days… Or even cold days. ? He can become protective over his home so again we are looking for a 1 to 2 person household who doesn’t mind putting the dog away when guests come over or the pool/lawn man. He would also do best in a home with another fun dog. If you would like to meet him please fill out an application: https://www.muttsinneed.org/adoption-application.html

Matcha

Please contact Jamie (jamie@pawsandprayers.org) for more information about this pet. Meet Matcha! Matcha is a special girl who needs a home she can reside in, and not necessarily receive attention. Matcha loves the companionship of other cats, but could give or take humans. She is not aggressive, just shy and not fond of human touch. She has a sensitive tummy and requires a gentle formula food (not prescription). She is about 1 year old. Her adoption fee is $125. Paws and Prayers Cats are spay/neuter, fully vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested (neg), dewormed, current on flea/tick prevention, and microchipped at the time of adoption. They are litterbox trained unless otherwise noted. Robin

Robin is about 4 years old and came to us with a cropped ear so she is probably used to being an outside cat. She is not very happy at the shetler, we can't say we blame her, we wouldn't be either. She really needs a home and a family of her own.

Luna

Luna (5 yrs old as of 5/1/22) loves to be up high and would like to have a cat tree or perch where she can stare down and judge you haha. She looks like she is taking note of everything you have ever done wrong, but I think that she just loves having a good view of everything. Her grumpy face is everything. She will talk to you sometimes and will let you know what is on her mind. She LOVES treats and LOVES to be brushed with a brush. When you stop brushing her she will meow to let you know you can't be done yet! She is a very low maintenance cat, content to lie in the sun or sit in the same room as you. At night she sleeps near my head or in the same room, sometimes she will nudge your arm for pets, then settles down again. She does get the zoomies and it is hilarious to watch. Also, watch if you leave your water glass out, she will stick her paw in and then give it a lick! Luna will need to be the only pet in the household. When Luna does not want you to do something or does not want to do something herself, you will know. She hates the carrier, hates being brushed on her lower sides and legs, and hates getting her nails trimmed. She will let you know her frustration with that swishy tail and a swat. She is healthy, up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and treated to prevent fleas. Kiwi

Kiwi 's story: Kiwi came from a shelter in South Central VA that was overflowing with cats due to kitten season. With no available fosters, Kiwi was transferred to us. The first thing to know about Kiwi is that he has NO FEAR. A 65lb dog tried to attack him and he stood his ground! He is one tough cat! Kiwi loves to around people, is affectionate and his main activity is naps. It can be harder for older cats to find homes, but we are hopeful someone will see what a special cat he is. Kiwi has fits of spraying that we are continually trying to solve. He will go days with out spraying, then have one day where he does. These issues aside, he would make a perfect lap pet, as he spends most of his days napping. Are you the perfect forever home for Kiwi? Age: 9 years Gender: Male Spayed/neutered: Yes Weight: 13 lbs Vaccines: Distemper, Rabies FIV/FeLV results: Negative Allergies: None Special needs: Litterbox issues sometimes OK with kids: Yes OK with cats: No OK with dogs: No Adoption fee: $75.00 To Apply: 1) Print adoption application here: https://staffordspca.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/04/Stafford_SPCA_Adoption_Application_Adoption-Process-04182018.pdf 2) Email to adopt@staffordspca.org OR Fax to 866-522-8042. Home visits required and dog adoptions often do require structural fencing. (We make decisions regarding the fencing requirement on a dog-by-dog basis, according to the dog's exercise needs and energy level.) Stafford SPCA does not condone the exclusive use of invisible fencing. We reserve the right to deny placement of puppies and kittens into homes with children under 5 years old. April (Oswego)

April is a beautiful, sweet, talkative girl looking for her forever home. She was found lying by the side of the road and never reclaimed. Shania Twainnn - special needs

Please read 🙂 Application and veterinarian references are required prior to adoption and we will be happy to send you a link to the application. This sweet cat came to us with Her siblings and had respiratory issues and eye issues. She has been spayed, vaccinated, treated for fleas/ticks, feline leukemia tested and negative and dewormed. The eye infection she came to us with was significant and although she was treated and no longer has the eye infection, it has permanently affected one of her eyes, and she is basically blind out of it, so we are not sure how much she can see out of her right eye but she can see some, however it will always be cloudy. She is a sweet little cat and does not let anything stop her. She is slightly timid of other cats and needs to be the only cat and an Indoorhome. Again she needs to be an ONLY cat due to her personality and health issues. She would make a great furever friend for the right person/family. We will need to able to communicate with the vet of any family who is adopting as this she has issues that involve on and off again steroids and antibiotics with nasal discharge as she has inherited these problems coming from a large colony of inbred cats. She does not let anything stop her and would be a great forever friend for someone willing to give her a chance and commit to her ongoing health concerns .

Hup - Needs Sponsors ASAP!

Update: Hup is in urgent need for sponsors for his vet bills please! https://www.paypal.me/Acadiana Hup is 5 years old. Hup has been in foster care since he was a tiny kitten. His estimated birthday is October 18, 2019. He is a neutered male tabby and white short haired cat. Hup was born with deformed and fewer toes. Some of his toes are mishapen, or fused together with another toe. This caused him to have deformed claws, and horns on his paw pads, which need to be trimmed once a month at the vet's office to keep his feet healthy. Hup is available for adoption through Acadiana Humane Society. Hup says his favorite veterinarian is Dr. Jasmine at the Cat Clinic of Lafayette, which is where he gets his regular pedicures. Sponsors for his special care are appreciated. www.acadianahumane.org/catblogger/donate Hup just had his rabies vaccinations updated on 8/2023. To be considered to adopt Hup, or any other cat, please download our prescreening application from our website at We are handling all prescreening to foster or adopt through email. Once the emailed prescreening application has been processed, then a volunteer will call or email to set up an appointment to meet the cat you're interested in. Normally a volunteer will bring the cat to the applicants home to meet. If it all works out, then we can do an adoption contract, collect the $100 cat adoption fee, and kitty can stay in his new home the same day you meet. If you have any questions, please email ahspets@gmail.com instead of calling. Our volunteers can't always answer calls, so email is the fastest way to get answers. Thank you for understanding.
