Pixie

If you are interested, you MUST complete the application. We will only set up meet and greets with an approved application. If you have problems accessing the website or application, please email me at pawsplace1@yahoo.com and let me know. Thanks! Pixie is one of 9 small defenseless little dogs that was dumped in the middle of many many acres of nothing but soybean and corn fields. What a horrible fate for these dear sweet babies. Animal Control was called and they called PAWS to see if we could assist with trying to catch them and take them in. We spent over three weeks and managed to catch all of them. These babies went through quite the ordeal and are ready to go on to homes where they will be loved and doted on. Pixie is a definite flight risk so they will not be adopted to homes with children and will require that the adopter have a fenced yard. This beautiful girl, Pixie, is very shy and will take someone with lots of love and patience to win her over. She came around very quickly with me but gets very scared if anything in her environment changes or if she is taken to a new environment (such as the vet). She is a very loving little girl who wants to be loved so badly but just can't forget that humans have not been kind to her. She is still very afraid of fast movements. She will do well with other other dogs as long as they are her size or smaller and allow her to be the boss. She is about 11 lbs and we guestimate that she was born around 07/01/2018. Her adoption fee is $250.

Dylan - CL

This is a courtesy post for an individual or group seeking a new home for Dylan. Dylan is not part of the PAWS program and PAWS holds no responsibility for this family pet. Your next step would be to complete our online application which can be found at kcpaws.org and it will be forwarded to the individual/group responsible for Dylan. link to application https://form.jotform.com/230296113596155 Dylan was found as a stray by one of our partnering rescue volunteers, he was malnourished, sick, and had demodex mange. This caused him to loose nearly all of his hair, and have open sores all over his body. It appeared that he had been kept standing in a small kennel for long periods of time as his paw pads had become over grown and flattened. Dylan overcame nearly a year of physical recovery, it was a long journey to get to where he is today. But he is a fighter, he has always been a sweet happy boy no matter what he was going through. Luckily he has been able to recover in an amazing foster home! Here is what his foster mom has to say about life with Dylan- Dylan loves to play to play ball , chase balls and even sometimes sleeps with them - Dylan loves to cuddle and sleep with my son. He always wants to sleep in bed. - Dylan loves to eat, he loves food. He prefers to eat in his kennel and that where I feed him always. - Dylan loves to run and chase , he is very curious of everything. Even small animals who don't love him back. -Dylan likes to watch tv and sit with the family after playtime Dylan will need to be the only pet in the home and needs a home without small children as he can be mouthy when he plays, older teenagers would be okay. Dylan can jump a fence, and will need to be supervised in the yard. Dylan is very playful and would do best with an active owner.

Trilley

Trilley was adopted as Nod when she was a kitten in 2020. Her name was changed because she loves to talk to you by trilling. Sadly her human passed away and she was brought back to our care. Trilley is a gorgeous black & white long hair spayed female. She is a quiet girl who keeps to herself but does accept and love attention from the volunteers. Her favorite place to lay is the top of the cat tree or in front of the window to the lobby so she can watch everything and everyone. Trilley is a rare beauty! Cooper

Cooper This loveable American bulldog is in need of a loving home. He's so sweet and eager to please. Cooper is 100% housetrained and crate trained. He ADORES people. He's good with kids. Cooper very much enjoys car rides, belly rubs, chew bones and crunchy treats. He's afraid of thunderstorms, fireworks and unknown loud noises. Silly quirk: Cooper can be a little nosey when he's bored.. he likes to walk around the house and open doors (with handles, not knobs.) He's friendly to some dogs and not others, so he needs to be an only dog with supervised playdates. No cats. Cooper's about 4 yrs old and 65 lbs. He's neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and he's current on flea prevention and heartworm prevention. Cooper's so full of love to give . Zeke (NC)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Zeke (NC) is a male Retriever mix rescued from a North Carolina kill shelter, where they could not provide the lifesaving medical care for Zeke's injuries after he was shot in face. He is estimated to be a year old in October 2021. In the safety of his foster home, this handsome, super-sweet boy is confident and the biggest snuggle-bug. Outside the home, he is still a little wary and anxious, but he is making progress every day. And he is not a fan of loud noises or sharp movements, so he will do best in a calm home in a quiet suburb. He loves to be close to his people and would like them to be mostly home with him. Zeke does well with other dogs, and when experiencing new things, he follows their lead, so a confident doggy sibling in his forever home is a must. At time of placement, Zeke will be altered, if medically appropriate, and current on basic vaccinations appropriate for his age. If you can love Zeke and give him the happy, safe life he deserves, please apply online to adopt Zeke (NC) at www.rescuedogsrocknyc.org.

Miley

Meet Miley, a permanent resident with Animalluvr's Dream Rescue! Back in February 2021, Miley was surrendered to us due to her owners moving after originally asking a veterinary clinic for euthanasia. Luckily, we had a wonderful foster home step up to take her in and avoid euthanasia at only 3 years old. At the time, Miley had no vetting and was dragging her back end for over a year per her owners....without any vet care or proper diagnosis. During her time with usm Miley has had full veterinary work ups including blood work, xrays, consults with orthopedic specialist, neurologist and rehabilitation specialist. She is getting all the care she needs but needs a special home that will love and care for her. Miley is a young bully girl who weighs in at 50lbs of muscle. She wants to run. She wants to play. And, she definitely wants to kiss and snuggle. Miley is incontinent - she knows when she has to go but cannot hold it. Luckily she loves sporting her cute panties around and is very cooperative with it. Even with all of the dedicated care, an incontinent dog is prone to urinary tract infections so the medical care is a constant battle. We are committed to Miley for life! Animalluvr's Dream Rescue is a 501(c)3 organization that relies on donors and volunteers to continue saving lives. Miley is one of our many fospice pets that we will continue providing medical care for life. We accept donations through CashApp, PayPal, Venmo, and Zelle. If you are interested in sponsoring a fospice pet, please email us at aldr@animalluvrs.org to learn more.

Noah

Update 10/4/21: Noah is doing well in his foster home. He has decided that he likes to sit on the couch and watch TV for a while after a long day. 8/5/21: Noah is a beautiful Lynx Point Siamese, 2 yo male. He is very shy and would do best in a quiet home without small children and probably be an only cat. In his previous “ home” he was with other cats but he didn’t get any real attention from his human. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and negative for FELV/FIV. He has been in his foster home since mid-July. He likes gentle pets and rolls on the floor wanting attention. He loves his mouse and tearing up his cat post. He does not yet like to be picked up and mainly stays underneath my desk. He will need a patient gentle person to make him part of your home.
