Emmie

Emmie is very outgoing and friendly. She is smart and acclimates well to new environments. She will solicit getting petted and has a happy and confident manner. She has a tiny white mustache and we called her milkstache for a while, "Em" for short. And then it became "Emmie." After rescuing Emmie, we were informed that she had one kitten left at animal control. We didn't know about the kitten, and went back to retrieve her. The instantly recognized each other and play together. We would like to adopt Emmie with her 4-5 month old kitten, Minny, who is her mini me. If you are interested in adopting Emmie: Other pets in the home must be current on vaccinations, heartworm and flea/tick preventative and altered. Applicants will be screened, including a home visit. If you would like to meet Emmie and Minny, complete an application on our website dogwoodfarmsanctuary.com and then request an appointment. Thanks for your interest in Emmie. We will continue to take applications until we find the right match.

Eli

Elijah is a blind 11-year-old pitbull that needs a committed foster or adopter! Eli is the cutest and sweetest friend you'll ever find! He seems to bond easier with the ladies but has so far been friendly with everyone he's met. He will be your shadow and will want to be wherever his human is. He loves walks and is always excited for an outdoor adventure. He has spondylosis so he needs to be limited to moderate walks/activities even though he will try to convince you that he can go much further. He pulls on the leash but corrects easily. Aside from being blind and having spondylosis, he is a very healthy guy! He's on a few medications but he loves peanut butter so giving him his pills is a breeze. Aside from his excitement for his walks he is pretty calm and loves to nap! He's a funny, happy guy and will be a great addition to the right home. He doesn't let his lack of vision get him down and is a pro at learning the layout of his surroundings. Eli has had some scuffles with larger dogs in the home so he will need to go to a home with no other dogs, or with calm smaller dogs. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this very special boy, please send an email to greenheartrescue@gmail.com

Romeo

Romeo is 6 months old and currently weighs 40 pounds he shouldn't get too much bigger. We believe he is a boxer/hound/pity blend. He is very sweet and super smart. He loves playing with toys and other doggies. He would be great on jogs or hikes and then come home and snuggle. He still has puppy energy and needs to be taught not to jump so probably would do better in a home with bigger kids. He desperately wants to please his person. He sits and waits patiently for food. Romeo came to us from our local city kill shelter where he was scheduled to be euthanized because they were out of space. Romeo has been with us about a month and has done great in his foster home. Please keep in mind he is still a puppy and will need to have exercise and attention and just like with any dog should not be put in a yard to be alone.

Sprinkles

Sprinkles is a special kitty in search of a special home. Sprinkles is a 5 year-old gal who is looking for a quiet home with someone who is patient and understands her. You see, Sprinkles came to us as a very unhappy kitty with trauma to her hind end; upon exam, our wonderful vet believed she may have been kicked or stomped by a previous owner. As a result, she has difficulty grooming around her tail and back legs, so she sometimes develops matting there. But besides daily glucosamine, she is able to run and jump like any other kitty. Sprinkles also takes a bit to warm up to new people and is understandably anxious around loud noise and fast movements - so a quiet home without small children would probably be best for her. She has lived around a small dog who she ignores as well as cats; however, she does get picked on by more confident kitties. Sprinkles is very smart though and can use a cat door. Once comfortable, she just wants to be around her people, and is very chatty and loves to rub noses with her humans. So if you are looking for a best friend and believe you can provide this pretty girl with the safe and loving home she deserves, please send an email to schedule a visit and come meet her!

Cricket

Hiya, I'm Cricket! I'm a silly little thing and I love to run! I landed at ARFhouse when I was found as a stray and taken in by some cool folks that kept me for a while. After realizing I was just a bit much for them, they called the girls at ARF! I am a very sweet and affectionate girl; I love to play, goof off and give kisses! I do okay with other dogs, but I need to be the only dog in the home. What can I say except, I want my family all to myself! Nothing wrong with that. I am your typical Pit Bull, fun-loving and energetic; I need an active family to take me on walks and let me play outside. Because of my energy level, I would not be suitable for an apartment, I need a fenced yard so that I can run and play as I please. The fee to adopt Cricket is $200.00; this includes spay, vaccines, fecal, HW- results and a microchip. Adoptions at our facility are by-appointment only. If you think Cricket would be a good fit for your family, please visit our website, www.arfhouse.org and fill out an adoption application. Once we have an application, our Adoption Coordinator will follow up with you with any questions she may have, or to set up a time for you to meet Cricket.

Missy (In Foster)

*ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED by The Madani Team - Room Real Estate* WEIGHT: ~40lbs. Cue the tears because this girl has been in "the system" for over two years now! Missy is an amazing dog who deserves a wonderful home and will make the right person/people an incredibly fun and devoted companion. That said, she does have certain characteristics that may not fit everyone. No one is everyone's cup of tea right? So, please read the full bio to see if Missy could be the dog for you! Missy spent over a year with a foster family and this has helped us learn how she truly behaves in a home! According to her previous foster, she's a canine comedian who will make you laugh and keep you entertained by the way she plays -- and the way she loves. She enjoys nature excursions, always looking for the patch of green grass to belly crawl through. And when she's not out exploring, she enjoys the couch-time chill. That's when her affectionate side comes out. Missy LOVES pets, belly rubs, and lap time -- even though she exceeds the size of a normal lap-dog. Missy is VERY smart and trains easily. She's treat motivated and has learned a whole host of commands like sit, stay, wait, down, come, and shake. She's also a touch-target pro and enjoys agility obstacles that most dogs are afraid of, like tunnels, A-frames, and cat-walks. She's also house-trained, crate-trained, and rides well in the car. While Missy loves her people, she struggles with meeting new folks. Her best self is not on display when she's approached by new people and intros need to be slow and well-managed. With the right intro, she can quickly accept people and love them forever without looking back. She can also behave in a similar way with new dogs. Missy has lived with another dog successfully and with the right intro was able to blend into the household and develop a agreeable relationship with her furry foster sister. As long as the match is right, she could live with and happily enjoy another dog. She just doesn't enjoy the casual run-in with a dog she doesn't know. And because of this, dog parks, dog beaches, and other places with a high volume of new dogs, are just not her jam. And unfortunately, Missy is also not one to enjoy the presence of young children or cats. It's just the cold hard truth. Missy is Missy and while work can be done in her "areas in need of development" it will be important to understand that good management is and will also be her key to success. We know there are MANY people out there who have what Missy needs and who need a Missy in their lives! Could it be you? Fill out an Adopter's profile to learn more about her from our Client Care staff and/or Missy's foster mom. They may even suggest a foster-to-adopt where you can bring her home for a period of time and see how things go!

DANDELION

Ever meet someone wise beyond their years? That's Dandelion. He's a handsome, short-haired black kitty. He is approximately 2 years old. He was rescued with his siblings, hungry and scared. Since he's been in his foster home, he's learned to become a great house cat. He is an old soul. He is gentle and loves the company of the resident cats. Once he trusts you, he will run straight to you for pets. He also loves his treats and playing with the laser toy. While he's not playing with his family, he loves to observe all that's going on. He's not a fan of being picked up; like all practical folks, he prefers to have all his paws on the ground. "Cats weren't born with wings," he likes to point out. He will be happiest if he has a quiet room to start off with spending quality time with you while he gets his bearings. He will thrive in a home with a mellow cat buddy to hang out with, quiet older children and no dogs. ********Please email adopt@ForgottenFelinesDenver.org, or call the foster Laura at 808-344-6030 for more information on thoughtful gentleman. Milan

Milan came to us as a stray/hitchhiker under the hood of a car. We don't know his full story, but we do know he deserves a new home and a family to call his own. Milan is shy cat that needs an adopter or family that will give him time to adjust at his own speed. He is non-aggressive when approached, just cautious and will sometimes move away if feeling uncomfortable. We know he has oodles of potential and just needs that right someone to give him a chance to shine. Milan has an approx. DOB of 12/22/2019. If you'd like to meet Milan (and gosh, we sure hope you do), please visit our website to review our adoption policy and procedure and to schedule an on-site visit.

Picasso (Picatso)

My name is Picasso, a.k.a. Picatso, and I am currently in my Blue Period. Maybe when I find my furever home I will be more inclined to incorporate warmer tones into my art. I am a handsome, laid-back young adult feline. I’ve been told I have beautiful ears on which the color gradates from black to white. I would do well in a house with other cats as I get along so well with my foster siblings—purrhaps one of your felines could be my next muse!

Libby

Hi there, I'm Libby! I might be a bit shy around new people, but once you get to know me, you'll discover I'm a treasure trove of love and loyalty. I may not wear my heart on my furry sleeve, but I'll show you my affection in my own quiet and sweet ways. I'm a reserved kitty, and it takes me a little time to build trust. Once I do, you'll find that I'm a gentle and affectionate soul. I won't demand attention, but when you offer it, I'll purr with delight. I'm looking for a patient and understanding human who will give me the time I need to feel comfortable and secure in my new home. If you have other cats, that's a big plus! I thrive in the company of fellow felines. A calm and quiet environment would be purrfect for me, where I can come out of my shell at my own pace. Squeaks McGee

This is Squeaks McGee. He's around 3yo and is the very sweetest, beautiful, blind baby. He came to foster because he was very anxious in the shelter. Having hands reaching in his condo without being able to see was scary. He has done so well in a home environment. Being blind does not stop this guy. He loves to explore, he just does so very slow and carefully until he learns his space. When he's unsure, he'll reach out with his paw to check out what's in front of him. Squeaks especially likes to sit higher up. He climbs high on the cat condo, likes to lay on a bed or sit on a chair. As long as his front legs reach the top of the surface he's climbing on, he's good to go. He loves to lay on his foster mom's lap and get head and belly scratches. He'll let you know if he's not ready for the scratches to stop. Squeaks does not get into any trouble. He's a laid back kind of guy. What get's Squeaks excited? Meal time and TREATS! Temptations and Delectable Lickables are his favorites!

Luna

Luna was saved from Kellogg during rush hour traffic by our amazing beast crew/animal control/PD. Sadly, although microchipped, she was reportedly rehomed 3 years ago and remained unclaimed at the city shelter. Due to small areas of missing hair (most likely due to neglect) she was euth listed and labeled rescue only. She does good with kids but because of how she is with taking treats, we would prefer no small children. She's a good dog, very loving and loves to cuddle. Luna is a lover, when she greets you she not only wags her tail but shakes her entire body in excitement. Visit www.beautiesandbeasts.org for more details.
