Merle

Hello there, dog lovers! I'm Merle, a charming senior male, Chihuahua mix, aged 13 years and weighing a petite 10 pounds. As a work in progress with house training, I'm eager to learn and grow with the patient guidance of a loving family. I find solace in my kennel, where I feel calm and comfortable. I haven't explored a leash yet, but I'm sure I'd adapt since I'm not a flight risk. I get along with another dogs my size, but haven't had a chance to mingle with cats. I'm sure to thrive in a children-free home, where I can enjoy the peace and tranquility of a quiet environment. Whether it's a cozy house or an apartment, I'm flexible and adaptable to any living situation. While I'd be perfectly content as an only dog, I'd also do well with another furry friend to share in the love and companionship. Despite my sight impairment, I'm still full of love and affection, ready to bond with my favorite humans! My adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! Hans

Meet this adorable fella named Hans. He and his siblings were brought into the shelter as stray on April 16, 2024 and were never reclaimed so they are now keeping their paws crossed that a wonderful adopter comes into the shelter to adopt them. They came in around 3 to 4 months old and are now current on shots. Sweet and handsome kitties who are so ready to begin their next chapter of life with a nurturing and loving person or family. Might you have the most perfect loving home for Hans and maybe a sibling too. You know kittens do amazing in pairs. We have SO MANY cats & kittens arriving daily that it is hard to keep our Petfinder as up to date as we would like. So please, COME TO THE SHELTER and meet some of the wonderful cats that are up for adoption and open up your home to one or more kitties today! If you adopt a cat that is not already spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to help cover the cost of the surgery, and some vets honor the voucher 100%! Such a great deal -- while also saving a life!! All of our cats are tested for FIV as well as Feline Leukemia before being placed up for adoption. Not quite ready for the commitment of adoption but would love to contribute to the health and happiness of our feline fur babies? We'd very much appreciate some litter, or food (especially kitten food - Purina is their favorite!). Maybe you will have some time to snuggle and love on them while you're here. It makes their time here more enjoyable when they get extra love & attention. Also, we need volunteers & foster homes! Come to the shelter to apply! The shelter hours are Monday-Friday 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm (we close from 1pm-2pm for lunch), and Saturday 10am-4pm. Hope to see you soon!

Charlie

For more information or to apply for adoption please fill out an adoption application at www.marshallsdogrescue.com Charlie This gentleman is a luvbug who will wiggle his way into your heart. He loves to cuddle with you anywhere he can and loves to be petted. He would do well in any housing situation with or without children and/or other dogs. Charlie is a small Collie mix who is about 1 years old. He is neutered and vaccinated. People: He loves everyone he has met. He does not bark at people walking by the house when he is outside or when on walks. Children: He has not barked at or shown fear of children when he is tied outside or while on walks. The school bus stops at the end of our driveway. However, while he has not had close contact with children his foster family feels he would be OK around younger children because he does not get overly excited around people so most likely would not knock young children down with his excitement. Dogs / Cats: He likes every dog he has met out on our walks. He enjoys chasing and playing with his fur-brother. He has not been tested with cats. However, when he sees a squirrel in the yard he does show interest and tries to chase them. I am not sure he would know what to do if he ever did catch the squirrel. He might do OK with a dog-savvy cat. Barking: He is a fairly quiet dog. He barks when his fur-brother is barking at something otherwise he does not bark at people or dogs. Crate trained: He is crate trained. When he first arrived he did not enjoy going into the crate and would try to squirm his way out while you were trying to put him in. Now he will go into the crate with some guidance. It is still not his preferred place to be. That said, once he is in the crate he will settle without whining or barking and wait until you let him out again (even if you are in the other room). He sleeps in the crate at night. Independence / Separation: While he does love to cuddle with his people whenever he can, he will also happily lay on the sofa next to you or on the floor in the same room as you. He can be left alone in the crate if you need to go out for errands or work or if you need to be in another part of the house and are unable to watch him. He likes to hang outside and watch the world go by. Destructive: Over the two weeks he has been with his foster family, he has earned more freedom of movement within the house. When he first arrived he chewed some electrical wires that were near the sofa where my son (who fell asleep) was watching him. Since that time he has not chewed anything he was not supposed to chew. We still closely monitor him though while he is still learning the house rules and how to play with toys. He is capable of taking food off the coffee table if he is able to reach it. Toys: He is still learning how to play with toys. He does not know what to do with balls or stuffies so far but does understand chewing on bones and chew toys. House trained: He is house trained for the most part. If you miss his signals or his asks to go outside he may have an accident in the house. He asks to go outside by pacing and moving towards the door or he will come and put his head and paws repeatedly on you to get your attention. We are working on using the "potty bells" that hang on the door. He has never done his business in his crate. His foster family is using this to help him be successful with his house training. For example, if on our walk he starts to pace like he is going to have a poop but then does not have one, we will put him in his crate when we get home and try again in about 15 min intervals until he does poop. Walks: He loves to go for walks and he does not pull on the leash. He sits while you put his leash on to go outside. Car: He has gone for rides in the car. He looks out the window or curls up on the back seat. He has not attempted to jump over the seat or into my lap while driving. He does not appear to get car sick however, we have only been on short drives so far. Charlie has a lot of love to give and is looking for a family that feels the same way. If you are looking for a loving, loyal companion, Charlie just may be your guy.

Roomba

Beautiful and loving, playful and cute, the sweet girl wants to cuddle and sleep on your bed Roomba is a ball of love. When she arrived at her foster she couldn’t get enough of pets or wet food. She is curious and a great learner! She spends most of her day patrolling in the window watching birds and chipmunks. During breaks from window patrol, she likes to attack toys that make sound and curl in up her bed for a quick snooze. At night she prefers to sleep at the end of the bed but enjoys snuggles and kisses to get relaxed first. Her favorite is rubbing up on your hand with her cheeks. Although she was a bit nervous to meet the resident cat, they are now great playmates! Their favorite thing to do together is “hide and spook”. She’s learned since her arrival how to cover her stinkies in the box, what she is and isn’t allowed to scratch, how yell for wet food when it’s being prepared, and how to show her belly for maximum cuteness effect. -BASICS- AGE: We estimate she was born in early August 2023 HEALTH: At adoption time, she will be spayed, microchipped, and have age-appropriate vaccines. (Forthcoming as of April 27, 2024). They will happen soon–she will be ready to go home soon! BREED: DSH, dilute grey tortie SIZE: Small to medium — but she is still growing BACKGROUND: She is from the Tech Barn and was rescued at about eight months old. If Roomba sounds like a good mix in your Forever Family, and you promise to provide lots of wet food, sunny window, and toys that make sound, please fill out an Adoption Application below, and put her name on top! Spike

Spike is the smallest of the litter, but don't let that fool you! He's quick on the uptake - first to use the litter box and first to climb the baby to gate to escape into the no-go zones. He's got lots of energy and is very sociable and always comes around for scritches. He loves chasing balls and ropes under and over the bed and would definitely appreciate a home with lots of sunny windows and a good cat tree to climb. Spike would do best in a home with another kitten or cat to pal around with, zoomies are serious business! Older, cat savvy kids would be best and he's at a great age to learn to make friends with respectful dogs. Are you ready for this spunky redhead? Spike will arrive in the PNW on May 18th. His adoption fee is $350 which includes neuter, microchip, and up to date vaccines. Interested? Please fill out this application.
