Ellie (and Daisy) *located in Redding, CA

Daisy and Ellie May are six years old. They are the same age, sisters from another mother. I've had them since they were babies. They were spayed when they were very young. They're a bit overweight but we are changing their diet as of today, and hopefully they will lose some of their excess weight. They're outside pigs and have been raised with dogs and cats. They like the cats but avoid the dogs and the dogs avoid them. They're basically yard pigs, and I feel we don't interact with them near as much as we should. They're social and love belly rubs, especially Ellie. Neither has issues with being aggressive, although Ellie will act like she is when she encounters strangers or people who are afraid of her. She listens when told "no." Ellie is quite a bit smaller than Daisy. I'm not sure what they weigh. They have not been to a vet in about four years. They have both recently developed a limp in their front leg. I'm not sure if it's because of their weight, or if maybe they sprained the leg. I just contacted a vet who does home visits for mini pigs. I will be scheduling them an appointment in the next week or two, when the weather gets cooler. They will clip their hooves, deworm them, and give them an exam at that time.

Seth

Seth Shepherd was rescue from a kill shelter in the South. He is a really nice boy who is still getting to know the folks here at HUA. Seth is careful and he takes his time approaching humans he does not know but his curiosity usually takes over and he makes a new friend. He can still startle in new situations but once he is comfortable he is just the sweetest boy. What’s amazing about Seth is his status as a “helper dog.” He can convince nearly every dog he meets that there is love and safety at HUA and that, while it is okay to be a bit nervous, everything will be fine. Seth would love to have a fuzzy sibling in his family so that he can continue with his purpose in life–taking care of others. Visit Seth at www.hua.org!

BRISTOL

Please contact Vivienne (viviennejames@comcast.net) for more information about this pet.Hi, my name is Bristol. I am a 3 year old, 35-40 lb female yellow lab mix. Totally a coincidence but I am as fast as the cars at Bristol Motor Speedway. My favorite thing to do is play fetch and I will play for as long as you are able to throw the ball and ALWAYS bring the ball back to you. I was rescued by Critter Cavalry from an Arkansas shelter and so very thankful to be in Tennessee. I have the best foster home with two foster brothers who are twice my size and I love to wrestle with them. I have more confidence when I have other dogs to show me how to be a dog. I am a little slow to warm up to new people and do not need an extremely active home with a lot of different people coming and going. Once I get to know you after a few days I will never leave your side! I am very well behaved inside the house, I am crate trained, house-trained, quiet, and would make the perfect work from home buddy - I have been keeping my foster mom company by napping next to her desk all day. I would do great in a home with adults only or a family with older children. A canine companion would be great but I'm also willing to take all the attention for myself if I'm the only dog. BUT did I mention the ball. I do need someone that likes ball as much as I do and a fenced in yard is a MUST. I warm up to women first, but after a few days, men are ok too. I just did not have a very good beginning to my short life. If you are patient and looking for a great companion, then you have found her in me. I am spayed and current on all my shots. To be considered for my forever family please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net. APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.

Reecie

Our big orange ball comes complete with it's 7 year old Aussie mix named Reece. Reecie is a very happy go lucky girl who is housebroken, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and addicted to fetching her big orange ball. She will play for hours and hours with it (or any ball). Reece does have a rear limp which our veterinarian has diagnosed as a dislocated hip - the result of an old injury - which is now healed and best left alone now. It does NOT slow her down or impair her mobility in any way. You would not be sorry - this girl is really special.
